Diamond is a Level 45 crafting material added with the full 1.0 release of Enshrouded. It comes from the Shroud that pools inside Cinder’s Cradle, the volcanic biome sitting between the mountains and the water region. You mine it straight out of rock surfaces with a pickaxe, and it feeds a long list of endgame weapons, armor, spells, and refined dusts.
Quick answer: Head past the Ancient Gate east of Starfish Shores into Cinder’s Cradle, step into a Shroud pocket, and mine the Diamond veins on cliff and cave walls with a pickaxe.
Where Diamond spawns in Cinder’s Cradle
Diamond only appears inside the Shroud that fills parts of the volcanic biome. To reach it, travel through the Ancient Gate, which connects the water region near Cromville Hot Spring and Starfish Shores to Cinder’s Cradle. Once you cross into the lava biome, look for the shrouded zones that hang over the terrain.
Diamond deposits occur in cave and cliff faces, as well as on rocky outcrops within Shroud pockets. A reliable cluster lies near the opening of Cinder’s Cradle, beyond the point of interest called Battlegrounds, where several veins usually sit close together.

The volcanic biome is endgame territory, so arrive with gear suited to the Shroud and a timer in mind, since the Shroud drains your life the longer you stay inside it.
Mining Diamond with a pickaxe

You know it worked when Diamond appears in your backpack with its tooltip listing Level 45, Common rarity, and a source of Cinder’s Cradle Shroud. Picking up your first Diamond also unlocks the recipes that use it.
Refining Diamond into dust at a Mill
Raw Diamond is processed at a Mill back at your base. Place Diamond into the Mill and select the Diamond Dust recipe to grind it down. One Diamond produces one Diamond Dust, and each batch takes 3 minutes to finish.

The same Mill also makes Sparkling Dust, which combines Diamond with materials from across the map. The recipe takes 1 Diamond (Cinder’s Cradle Shroud), 1 Moonstone (Cinder’s Cradle), 1 Celestium Ore (Cinder’s Cradle), and 1 Mother-Of-Pearl (Stillmere Basin, underwater). Both dusts share the same 3-minute grind time.
What Diamond is used to craft
Diamond is a reagent for a wide spread of endgame recipes, including six weapons, thirteen armor pieces, three spells, and two refined materials. The weapons it supports cover the Warrior and Ranger classes, and each carries its own damage split and perks.
| Weapon | Type | Base damage | Class |
|---|---|---|---|
| Two-Handed Axe | 16 Cutting | Warrior | |
| One-Handed Sword | 11 Cutting | Warrior | |
| One-Handed Sword | 11 Cutting | Warrior | |
| Two-Handed Greatsword | 16 (8 Cutting / 8 Shroud) | Warrior | |
| One-Handed Axe | 11 (5.5 Cutting / 5.5 Fire) | Warrior | |
| Daggers | 7 Piercing | Ranger |
Damage figures above are the Level 1 values, and these weapons scale up to equipment Level 55. The Golden War Hero Axe and Shroud Vessel’s Greatsword, for example, reach 138 Cutting-based damage at Level 55.
On the armor side, Diamond goes into pieces such as the Vorgoth’s Soulbound Boots and the Ashwind Strider set. The Ashwind Strider Boots and Pants are Ranger gear at item Level 45, while the Legendary Vorgoth’s Soulbound Boots are a Warrior piece crafted by the Ancient Researcher. Diamond also appears in spell recipes including Chain Lightning II, Eternal Fire Totem II, and Fire Bolt VIII.
With a steady supply of Diamond from the Cinder’s Cradle Shroud, you can keep a Mill running for dust and stock the Blacksmith, Hunter, Alchemist, and Ancient Researcher benches for the gear that defines the 1.0 endgame.
