Cinders Of The End is where Enshrouded’s story finally stops. The quest comes from Loraine Crim, the Ancient Researcher. It sends you up through the floating ruins of Cinder’s Cradle to the Ancient Capital, and it closes with a boss fight against Vorgoth on the roof of the Mother Flame’s home. Then the credits roll. On a character around level 43, the full run takes a little under an hour of exploring, puzzle switches and fighting constructs. Almost all of that time goes into the climb.
Quick answer: Cinders Of The End has four objectives, from Cinder’s Ascent to Mother Flame’s Domicile. It pays Vorgoth’s Soulbound Crown, Vorgoth’s Soulbound Gloves and 3,200 XP, and it ends on “QUEST COMPLETED! Cinders of the End.”
What unlocks Cinders Of The End
Cinders Of The End is not something you stumble into. It belongs to Loraine Crim’s questline and starts only after the groundwork in Cinder’s Cradle, the northern region that Enshrouded 1.0 added beyond Veilwater Basin. Before the quest is live, these conditions are in place:
- The Flame quest Land Of The Sky Islands is done. It ends with you summoning Loraine Crim at your base.
- All six Beacon Dungeons are complete. That is what powers the teleport platform at Cinder’s Ascent.
- The platform at Cinder’s Ascent is active. The quest’s first objective assumes it already is.
Version 1.0 raises the player level cap to 50 and the equipment level cap to 55. Enemies on the sky islands sit in the mid-40s, so a character in that range is running about level with the content.

Add to Google Preferences →Cinders Of The End objectives and locations
The quest has four objectives, and they always appear in the same order. Each one points to a single map location.
| Objective | Map location | What triggers the next one |
|---|---|---|
| Travel to Cinder’s Ascent with the Teleport Platform | Cinder’s Ascent | Arriving on the sky islands |
| Reach The Ancient Capital | The Ancient Citadel | Reaching the citadel bridge |
| Defeat Vorgoth | Mother Flame’s Domicile | Killing both Vorgoth forms |
| Rescue The Mother Flame | Mother Flame’s Domicile | Using the Flame altar |
The story setup fits in a sentence or two. Loraine believes the Shroud is closing in on the Mother Flame, which shelters what is left of the Ancients. Lord Vorgoth leads the siege on the capital, and he wants to drain the Flame and seal the Ancients’ fate for good.

Cinder’s Cradle Sky Islands: The climb to the Ancient Capital
The teleporter at Cinder’s Ascent drops you onto Cinder’s Cradle – Sky Islands. The objective then switches to Reach The Ancient Capital. This stretch makes up most of the quest. It is a chain of detached islands linked by air currents, and it is broken up by Shroud caves, rune doors and a few heavy fights.

Gardens Of Earthly Delights and the first Shroud Root
A circular vault door opens into the Gardens Of Earthly Delights. This overgrown ruin is where the Wanderer starts narrating in voiceover. A chest in a lower crevice holds a pair of Crestflame boots. Past that, a foggy cave blocked by webs leads down to a Shroud Root. Chopping it down with an axe clears the fog and awards a skill point, as Shroud Roots always do.

The footage uses a Gilded Axe here. It is a level 40 Rare tool from the Blacksmith that adds stamina and stamina regeneration, plus the Lumberjack perk.
Ancient S.P.D.R. Constructs and the Air Current Network
Above the cave is a plaza guarded by an Ancient S.P.D.R. Construct. It is a large mechanical spider that fights alongside smaller drones. Destroying it drops Archaic Essence VII and the Axe Of Phobos. After that, the islands start throwing you around. Thermal launch pads and updraft vents send you high enough to glide between rock pillars and ruins. A terminal lore entry, Air Current Network, explains how the system works in the setting.

Manathor’s Plaza runes and the archery switch
Past the Island Ruin and one more long glide sits Manathor’s Plaza. The barrier there is sealed by purple wall runes. Touching one glowing glyph and then its matching symbol brings up “BARRIER UNLOCKED.”

A nearby vault door opens differently. You shoot a circular crest target mounted overhead. The footage does it with a Devilish Bow and a Celestium Arrow. Up the tower, a chest holds the Solar Mace and some Gold Coins.
Proto Vessel Bay, Shroud Heartlands and the second root
Proto Vessel Bay has a shrine that gives a Spark. From there the path drops into the Shroud Heartlands, a fogged-in chasm. Thick webbing has to be cut away in the deeper caverns, and a second Shroud Root waits at the bottom.

The cliffs beyond look out over the Ancient Citadel. A red lore marker there, Vorgoth’s Ruminations, gives the boss some backstory before you meet him. Climbing onto the citadel’s perimeter bridge triggers “VORGOTH THREATENS THE MOTHER FLAME.” The journal then moves on to Defeat Vorgoth.

The Ancient Citadel gate and Mother Flame’s Domicile
Right at the bridge there is a fast-travel teleporter, charted as Cinder’s Cradle – Citadel. If the boss goes badly, that is your way back in. The citadel itself is a siege. One Ancient S.P.D.R. Construct holds the lower courtyard, and a heavier one guards the front gate with flying drones in support. Both are level 45. The gate construct drops an Astrodome Shield.
Shroud mycelium grows across the iron gate and has to be mined out with a pickaxe. The footage uses a Gilded Pickaxe. Inside Mother Flame’s Domicile, you can pick up a Cinder’s Cradle Miniature Piece. Beyond it, an elevator teleport platform takes you up to the rooftop arena.
Vorgoth boss fight: Two forms, one health problem
Vorgoth fights in two phases, and each phase gets its own name bar. In the footage, the full fight runs a little over ten minutes.
Phase 1: Vorgoth, Champion of the Shroud
The first form is human-sized. It swings an ice greatsword and sends sweeping frost shockwaves across the floor. It also summons Shroud wraiths, so the arena keeps refilling with adds while you work on the main target.

Phase 2: Vorgoth, The Wanderer’s Vessel
Once the first health bar is gone, Vorgoth turns into a huge, tentacled Shroud creature. This form covers the arena with frost eruptions and sweeping energy beams. It also hits with ground shockwaves and keeps spawning minions. The footage handles it by dodging and firing wand projectiles from range. When the Vessel dies, it collapses in a burst of light and Shroud energy.
Cinders Of The End rewards and loot
The quest reward itself is Vorgoth’s Soulbound Crown, Vorgoth’s Soulbound Gloves and 3,200 XP. Vorgoth’s remains drop more on top of that, and the route up has its own chests and construct kills.
| Item | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| Chest, Gardens Of Earthly Delights area | |
| Archaic Essence VII, Axe Of Phobos | First Ancient S.P.D.R. Construct |
| Solar Mace, Gold Coins | Tower chest near Manathor’s Plaza |
| Shrine in Proto Vessel Bay | |
| Citadel gate construct | |
| Mother Flame’s Domicile | |
| Vorgoth’s Bound Essence, Vorgoth’s Eye Trophy | Vorgoth’s remains |
| Vorgoth’s remains |
Vorgoth’s Bound Essence does more than fill a slot. Picking it up teaches the recipes for the Shroud Vessel’s Greatsword and both Vorgoth’s Soulbound pieces. All three are then crafted at the Ancient Researcher, under a roof.
Shroud Vessel’s Greatsword and Axe Of Phobos stats
Both two-handers from this quest are Legendary Warrior weapons, with item levels from 1 to 55. They follow the same damage curve, both have Parry Power 1, and both have an attack speed of 0.774 s. The real differences are the element and the perks.

| Stat | Shroud Vessel’s Greatsword | Axe Of Phobos |
|---|---|---|
| Weapon type | Two-Handed Greatsword | Two-Handed Axe |
| Damage split | Shroud 8, Cutting 8 | Ice 8, Cutting 8 |
| Perks | Critical Strike Chance 7% | Renewal 1, Critical Strike Damage 24% |
| Recipe | Ancient Researcher | None listed |
| Item level | Damage (both weapons) |

| 40 | 105 |
| 45 | 115 |

Shroud Vessel’s Greatsword is the one Vorgoth drops. Crafting it requires Flame level 9 or higher. It also has a fixed level 46 variant alongside the scaling 1–55 version. The flavor text frames it as the blade of the man Vorgoth used to be, freed along with Embervale.
Axe Of Phobos trades the greatsword’s crit chance for crit damage and Renewal. It also hits with Ice instead of Shroud.
Vorgoth’s Soulbound Crown, Gloves and Crestflame boots stats
The two quest-reward pieces belong to the Cinder’s Cradle: Vorgoth’s Soulbound Set. They are built for different classes. The Crestflame boots found on the islands are a Warrior piece crafted at the Blacksmith, and they also require Flame level 9 or higher.

| Item | Class / rarity | Magical / Physical armor | Item level |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mage / Legendary | 56 / 42 | 45 | |
| Ranger / Legendary | 49 / 49 | 45 | |
| Warrior / Rare | 35 / 63 | 45 |
Vorgoth’s Soulbound Crown is a spellcaster’s helm. It gives Staff Damage 10%, Magical Critical Strike Chance 14%, Critical Strike Damage 17% and Mana Regeneration 28. Its perks are Terror 1, Necromancer 2, Spellslinger 2 and Counterstrike 2. It also has Frost Resistance 2 and cuts Wet duration by 120 s.
Vorgoth’s Soulbound Gloves are made for dagger Rangers. They give Dagger Damage 32%, Backstab Damage 14%, 6% damage against melee enemies and Stamina Regeneration 21. Their perks are Thrust 2, Veiled Vigor 1, Dagger Mastery 2 and Backstab Mastery 2. They also have Frost Resistance 1 and cut Wet duration by 90 s.
Crestflame boots carry Earth Aura 1, Purification 1, Health Regeneration 21 and Stamina Regeneration 11. They also have Frost Resistance 2 and cut Wet duration by 90 s.
Archaic Essence VII, from the first construct, is a level 45 material used to socket gems into weapons. It drops from Shroud Lairs in Cinder’s Cradle.
How Cinders Of The End completes
Killing Vorgoth does not end the quest. The Rescue The Mother Flame objective stays open until you use the Flame altar in the arena. That interaction plays an illustrated cinematic of the Flameborn’s victory and the realm’s rebirth, followed by the full credits for Keen Games’ Enshrouded team. Afterward, the Flame says a few lines to your character before “QUEST COMPLETED! Cinders of the End” appears. That prompt confirms the story is finished. Embervale stays open after it, and the Ancient Researcher still has recipes for you to craft.
