The Fetching Scales for Feebas event drops a summer collection loop into Pokopia, with two new Water-type Pokémon and a set of swimming-themed furniture you can earn. The whole thing comes down to one currency, Prism Scales, and knowing where to find it and what to spend it on.
Quick answer: Talk to Feebas outside any rebuilt Pokémon Center, collect Prism Scales on Dream Islands, then exchange them at the Pokémon Center counter for furniture. Use that furniture to build the Exciting beach and Marine leisure activities habitats before the event ends at 5am on Aug. 28 (local time).
Event dates and where it runs
The event runs for a fifteen-day window, from 5am on Aug. 13 to 5am on Aug. 28. Those times follow your local time zone, so the start and end shift slightly depending on where you are, but everyone gets the same amount of time to finish. Once the window closes, Feebas and the collection activity disappear from town, and no return date has been announced.
It happens in your regular town only. The event does not take place in Bubbly Basin or on Cloud Islands, and you do not need the Bubbly Basin expansion pass to take part. Every player can access it.
Start the event by talking to Feebas
The event kicks off after you log in and see the “A Pokémon is the talk of the town!” message. To trigger the encounter, head to a fully rebuilt Pokémon Center in any region other than Bubbly Basin.
Feebas is waiting right outside a built center. Even though it’s a Fish Pokémon, it doesn’t appear underwater here. It only shows up in front of centers that are on dry land. You need at least one finished Pokémon Center for the encounter to happen, so build one first if you haven’t. Chat with Feebas and it moves into the center, setting up a shop that lets you trade for rewards.
Where to find Prism Scales
Prism Scales are the event currency, and they only appear on Dream Islands. Place a Doll and interact with it to call Drifloon, which transports you to a special Dream Island. Every Dream Island has Prism Scales scattered around for you to pick up.
Scales turn up both in the overworld and inside caves on these islands, so search the whole area rather than just the surface. When you grab one, a pickup notification confirms the item and reminds you to bring it back to Feebas.
Because the furniture adds up fast and you may want spares, it’s worth farming as many scales as you can while the event is live. Visiting multiple Dream Islands is the quickest way to build a stockpile.
Spend Prism Scales at the Pokémon Center counter
Take your Prism Scales to the counter inside any built Pokémon Center to trade for rewards. There are six items on offer, and each one costs a different number of scales. You can buy as many duplicates as you like, as long as you have the scales to pay for them.

The swim ring, big swim ring, and floating lantern can be painted, and the cooler doubles as storage. Since a few of these pieces are needed for the habitats below, grab extras if you also want to use them as regular decorations. Everything except the outdoor Prism Scale is registered in your collection.
Build the two habitats for Feebas and Milotic
The point of collecting the furniture is to make two habitats. Building them keeps the Pokémon around after the event ends. Feebas is attracted to the Exciting beach habitat, and Milotic, its evolution, moves into the Marine leisure activities habitat once it’s set up.

Add up the costs and a single set of both habitats runs to 40 Prism Scales. Place the required pieces, and the game registers the habitat, after which the matching Pokémon can be attracted and moved in. Both are Water-type, and Milotic also carries a Hype specialty.
With both habitats built and Feebas and Milotic settled into town, you’ve done everything the event asks for. Anything past that is just extra furniture, so keep farming Dream Islands if you want duplicates of the beach set to decorate with once the summer window closes on Aug. 28.
