The Kraken Biome update adds 37 hidden chameleons to Find the Chameleons, pushing the collectible count to 271. Nearly all of them sit inside the new Kraken zone, with one extra in Spawn and one in the Desert. If you are stuck at 234/271, these are the exact spots you still need.
Quick answer: Collect Spawn39, Desert31, and Kraken1 through Kraken35 by teleporting to each zone and shooting the chameleon with your shotgun tool. Your Index shows 271/271 once every one is registered.
How to reach the new chameleons
The 37 new characters are split across three areas. Use the Teleports menu on the left sidebar to move between them instead of walking, since the Kraken zone is a separate island. Equip the shotgun tool and shoot each chameleon to register it in your Index.
- Spawn: 1 new chameleon (Spawn39).
- Desert: 1 new chameleon (Desert31).
- Kraken: 35 new chameleons (Kraken1 through Kraken35).

Tip: Kraken35 is the hardest to spot because it hides in a secret room built into the island. Kraken2 and Kraken6 also sit inside structures, so aim carefully from the correct angle to hit them through the mast and tower openings.
How rarity affects each chameleon
Every chameleon carries one of five rarity labels. Rarity does not change how you collect it, but it does hint at how hidden the character is. Easy and Normal chameleons sit out in the open, while Hard, Legendary, and Mythic ones are tucked into structures, caves, and high ledges.

How to confirm you reached 271/271
Each time you shoot a new chameleon, its name and rarity appear as an unlock. To verify your total, open the Index button at the bottom of the screen. When the counter reads 271/271, the collection is complete, and no chameleons remain hidden.
If your count stalls, the missing character is almost always one of the enclosed Kraken spots, such as the pirate ship interiors, the red brick tower, or the purple monster cave. Return to those areas, line up your shot through the opening, and the unlock message confirms it counted.
