Where to find the Youngster Goblin, all five quest objectives, the Boglin parts, and the rod’s final stats.

Added to Fisch on October 17, 2026, as part of FischFright 3, the Boglin Branch is a fishing rod available only for a limited time. It resembles a crooked dark-wood staff wrapped in tattered gauze, with a weathered skull tied near its top. You cannot purchase it; to earn it, complete all five parts of a questline for the Youngster Goblin on Caustic Hallow, the event’s Halloween island.

Quick answer: Talk to the Youngster Goblin behind House 506 in Caustic Hallow, then finish all five of his objectives. The Boglin Branch is your reward when you turn them in.

Boglin Branch quest requirements

Once you start the quest, the tracker shows five objectives. Almost all of them come back to one activity, which is clearing Goblin quests across the main sea.

ObjectiveAmountWhere it comes from
Goblin quests, Normal or harder3Goblins spawning on main-sea islands
Witch’s Ingredients (any type)10Event drops and Goblin quest rewards
Boglin Skull1Goblin quest reward
Boglin Twig1Goblin quest reward

Some quest text calls the Boglin Twig a Boglin Fang. It’s the same objective.

Where to find the Youngster Goblin in Caustic Hallow

Go to the boat floating near Moosewood and talk to the Flying Dutchman NPC. He takes you to Caustic Hallow.
When you land, turn right and keep going straight until you reach House 506. The path runs into a small side alley near Beatrix’s Cauldron.
Walk around to the back of House 506 and talk to the Youngster Goblin. The quest window opens and adds all five objectives to your tracker.

Goblin quests and Boglin parts

Goblins appear on different islands in the main sea at regular intervals, and an on-screen alert tells you where one has spawned. Each Goblin gives you a quest with a difficulty rating, such as Easy, Normal, or Hard. A Hard quest can be as silly as insulting Beatrix three times, which means a quick trip back to Caustic Hallow before you return to the Goblin to claim the reward.

For the first objective, only quests rated Normal or higher count. Goblins with a green outline are Easy, so you can skip them until your three Normal-or-harder quests are done.

After those three are done, difficulty no longer matters. The Boglin Skull, Boglin Twig, and Boglin Wraps can drop from Goblin quests of any difficulty, including Easy ones. All three are rare drops, though, so expect to run several rounds of Goblin quests before you have the full set.

Goblin quest rewards can also include Witch’s Ingredients, such as a Spider Eye. Farming Boglin parts often fills the ingredient objective at the same time.

Witch’s Ingredients that count

The Youngster Goblin takes any mix of ingredients, as long as you hand over 10 in total. Each of these counts:

  • Dirty Candy Corn
  • Strange Root
  • Crushed Bone
  • Spider Eye
  • Giant Mushroom
  • Raven Feather
  • Bat Wing
  • Dark Art Skull

Beatrix’s cauldron uses these same Witch’s Ingredients to power the Eldritch Rod. Make sure you keep 10 for the Youngster Goblin before you start dumping everything into the cauldron with “Offer All Ingredients.”

Turning in the quest and confirming the unlock

Once all five objectives show as complete in your tracker, go back to the Youngster Goblin behind House 506 and talk to him again. He takes the Boglin parts and ingredients and gives you the Boglin Branch. To confirm it worked, open your Fishing Rods inventory. The Boglin Branch should be listed there and ready to equip.

Boglin Branch stats

StatValue
Lure Speed80%
Luck180%
Control0.05
Resilience20%
Max kg550,000 kg

The Fishing Rods screen has also shown the rod’s Lure Speed as -30%, so check the in-game number before you plan around it. The rod has its own custom progress bar during the fishing minigame and can apply the Boglin mutation to fish, which appears to give a small boost to catch progress.

Its Max kg cap of 550,000 kg is lower than the other FischFright 3 rods, which have no weight limit. That makes the Boglin Branch the easiest event rod to get, but not the strongest. It works as a solid starter for newer players and as a collectible for everyone else, as long as you get it before the event rods leave the game.
