The Doomsekkar Rod is awarded for completing the quest in FischFright 3, Fisch’s Halloween event, which began on October 17, 2026, with Version 2.06.0. It is not sold in a shop and has no listed price. While the event is running, finish the three trials given by the Doomsekkar NPC to earn it. FischFright 3 ends at 17:00 UTC on November 9, 2026. As with previous event rods, it is expected to be classified as Limited once the event is over.
Quick answer: Take Doomsekkar’s quest in Caustic Hallow. Get 100 catches from Frightful Pools, build a streak of 50 consecutive Perfect Catches in those pools, and capture a ghost in the Haunted House. Speak to Doomsekkar again when you’re done.
Doomsekkar quest objectives and rewards
Once you accept the quest, three counters appear in the quest tracker on the left side of the screen. You can finish them in any order, and the two pool objectives fill up together while you fish.
| Objective | Target | Where it counts |
|---|---|---|
| Catch 100 Fish from Frightful Pools | 0/100 | Any Frightful Pool |
| Perfect Catch 50 fish in a row | 0/50 | Any Frightful Pool |
| Fight the spirits of a Haunted House | 0/1 | A haunted house |
Once you turn in all three objectives, you receive the Doomsekkar Rod, 3,000 Treats, and 5,000 XP for the Rod Journal; its entry there is marked Limited.
Accept the quest before you fish any event pool. Catches made before you take it are not tracked.

Doomsekkar lives on Caustic Hallow, the FischFright 3 event island. He stands by the graves in the cemetery area, at roughly GPS -14988, 146, -9663.

Frightful Pools: 100 catches and a 50 Perfect Catch streak
Frightful Pools are temporary, green-glowing fishing spots that open around the map during the event. They come in four kinds: Vile, Doomed, Grim, and Eldritch. Any of them counts toward the quest. Fish from ordinary water do not.
- A pool opens every 45 minutes and stays open for 10 minutes.
- Check the areas around Moosewood, the Statue of Sovereignty, Terrapin Island, and Harvesters Spike for pools.
- A Frightful Pool Totem spawns one where you stand. It costs 3,000 Treats from the Dutchman Merchant.
- Inside a pool, Control falls to half its usual value, while FischFright 3 rods receive a 25% boost to their stats.
- Global chat is the fastest way to spot a live pool, and a boat gets you there quicker than swimming.
Both pool objectives advance at once: each fish caught counts toward the total of 100, and each Perfect Catch extends your streak by one. The streak takes longer, since you need 50 Perfect Catches in succession; any catch that misses Perfect resets it to 0. Prioritize a rod that keeps the bar manageable instead of focusing on speed. If you own them, try Blade of Glorp, Seraphic, or Elemental. Use the tracker’s current tally rather than keeping count yourself.
Once a streak is underway, stay on the same server until it’s done. Don’t hop mid-run.
How to catch the Haunted House ghost
The third objective has nothing to do with fishing. It’s tied to Trick or Treating, which you do with a Candy Bucket equipped. Ordinary houses hand out Treats (or occasionally take some), and each one has a cooldown before you can knock again. Only a haunted house starts the ghost fight.

Claiming the Doomsekkar Rod
When the tracker shows 100/100, 50/50, and 1/1, return to the graveyard on Caustic Hallow and talk to Doomsekkar again.

You’ll know it worked when he says, “The weapon recognizes your malice. The Doomsekkar is yours,” and the alerts “You have unlocked [Doomsekkar Rod]” and “You received +3000 Treats” pop up. The rod is then in your rods list.
If the rod isn’t awarded, review the tallies for each objective instead of repeating the whole quest. The Perfect Catch chain and the ghost challenge are especially easy to mistake for completed tasks.
Doomsekkar Rod stats
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Lure Speed | 100% |
| Luck | 275% |
| Control | 0.1 |
| Resilience | -666% |
| Max Kg | inf kg |
| Line Distance | 100 m |
| Rod Journal | Limited (5,000 XP) |
The rod has a dark purple and silver-white body with gothic curves, glowing neon-green teeth, and a purple aura. Its 0.1 Control gives a reeling bar that covers about 40 percent of the minigame. Unlimited Max Kg means no fish is too heavy for it. The -666% Resilience is deliberate, not a typo: fish dart around much more, and the passive turns that movement into progress.
Older clips sometimes show very different stats for this rod, including 25% Luck, -100% Lure Speed, an 80,000 kg limit, and a skill called Dark Rot. Those values do not belong to the FischFright 3 version. It is also separate from the Dusekkar Rod: the FischFright 2 shop sold that rod for 25,000 Candy, and it is no longer obtainable. Doomsekkar is its haunted successor, and both rods’ descriptions refer to Matt Dusek.
Pumpkin Bombs, the Doomsekkar effect, and the 8x mutation
As you reel, pumpkin bombs appear on the bar at positions away from the fish. When the fish reaches a bomb, it detonates—making the rod’s low Resilience useful.
| Mechanic | Value | Progress Locked fish |
|---|---|---|
| Bomb spawn rate | Every 0.8 seconds | Same |
| Bombs on bar at once | Up to 6 | Same |
| Untriggered bomb lifetime | 45 seconds | Same |
| Progress per detonation | +8% | +2.8% |
| Slash after 6 detonations | +50% | +17.5% |
Once detonation number six is reached, a slash also boosts the fish’s weight to 1.8x and gives you the Doomsekkar effect for 50 seconds. Every bomb after that extends the effect by 10 seconds for you and each player within 50 studs. The timer stacks, so fishing near other Doomsekkar users can keep the effect going for the entire group. While active, the effect grants:
- 1.15x slash strength
- 1.2x lure speed
- 1.1x movement speed
- +10% chance for the Doomsekkar mutation
A fish with the Doomsekkar mutation is worth 8x as much. Each catch has a 10% base chance to receive it, with another 8% added for every bomb that detonates during that catch. In extended, hectic fights, this can put the mutation on roughly half your catches. Reports on bomb timing and progress have varied since launch, and event rods can be rebalanced during an event, so check the results of your own catches.
There are reasons to keep using the rod after earning it. Later Cemetery rituals require Doomsekkar-mutated materials; one example is a Jagged Bone for the Omniscient Spinecaster ritual. The questline also contributes to Ethereal Rose progression. Its strong Luck, unrestricted weight capacity, and 8x mutation make it useful for earning money and catching Progress Locked fish, provided you complete the trials before November 9.
