FischFright 3, Fisch’s third Halloween event, went live on October 17, 2026 at 16:00 UTC, and no end date has been announced. Its Bestiary has 44 slots, all tied to the Caustic Hallow event island. Most entries come down to the right candy bait and the right sky. Four of the candy-themed fish don’t work that way at all, and their Bestiary cards will mislead you if you take them at face value.
Quick answer: Candy Corn Pack, Jawbreaker Jellyfish, Licorice Lamprey, and Bubblegum Blobfish only drop from Trick or Treating on Caustic Hallow. Everything else needs its listed bait, weather, cycle, and Autumn season.
Candy Corn Pack, Jawbreaker Jellyfish, Licorice Lamprey, and Bubblegum Blobfish
These four are the fish most players get stuck on, and the reason is simple. You can’t catch them with a rod. The Candy Corn Pack’s Bestiary card, for example, lists Clear weather, the Day cycle, Autumn, and Black Licorice as its preferences. Fishing under those exact conditions does nothing. All four are Limited fish that come only from knocking on doors during the event, and they drop at a low rate.
Ignore the “Preferred Bait” line on these four cards. Burning Black Licorice or Licorice on them in open water wastes bait and time.

Many doors in a row can give you only candy. That’s normal. The drop is random, so it’s a volume game, and the Treats you pile up along the way fund the Flying Dutchman’s totems (more on those below).

The doors aren’t limited to the four candy fish. Several rod-catchable entries can also fall out of your Candy Bucket. That’s handy for the Relics, which otherwise require a Jack-o-Moon night. Fishing with the correct bait is still the more reliable path for these, but every door you knock on for the candy fish gives them a chance too.
- Doomed Relic, Eldritch Relic, and Grim Relic
- Vile Relic and Jack-o-Angler
- Gargoyle Grouper and Crypt Crab
- Cauldron Catfish and Pop-Rock Pufferfish
- Decayed Dace and Taffy Trout
FischFright 3 bait to stock before fishing
Four candy baits cover nearly every rod catch. Almost every entry also wants the Autumn season. Frightful Casket is the one entry with no season preference.
| Bait | Main use |
|---|---|
| Black Licorice | Most Relics, Dobhar, Headless Halibut |
| Sour Jelly Candy | Rain fish, Eldritch Relic, Ghoul Nessie |
| Taffy Pieces | Windy and filler catches |
| Licorice | Broomstick Bass, Haunted Haddock, Decayed Dace |
| Hallow-Pop, Gobstopper, Candy Corn Cluster | Alternate baits for specific fish |
| Magnet | Frightful Casket |
FischFright 3 fish by weather
Weather is the real bottleneck. Keep the right bait in your hotbar for each sky, and when the weather changes, jump to the matching table and clear it before it shifts again.
Jack-o-Moon (Night only)
Jack-o-Moon is the event’s own weather, and every fish here also needs the Night cycle, which makes this the slowest group. The Flying Dutchman, which floats over Caustic Hallow, sells a Jack-o-Moon Totem for 15,000 Treats, limited to one per player. Every fish below can be caught anywhere on the event waters.
| Fish | Bait | Trick or Treat |
|---|---|---|
| Doomed Relic | Black Licorice | Yes |
| Eldritch Relic | Sour Jelly Candy | Yes |
| Grim Relic | Black Licorice | Yes |
| Headless Halibut | Black Licorice | No |
| Jack-o-Angler | Black Licorice or Hallow-Pop | Yes |
Foggy
| Fish | Bait | Time | Trick or Treat |
|---|---|---|---|
| Alchemist Alligator | Sour Jelly Candy | Any | No |

|---|---|---|---|
| Broomstick Bass | Licorice | Any | No |
| Haunted Haddock | Licorice | Night | No |
| Sour Patch Salmon | Taffy Pieces | Day | No |
Rain
All three rain fish use Sour Jelly Candy, and two want daylight, so one rainy day clears the group without a bait swap.
| Fish | Bait | Time | Trick or Treat |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cauldron Catfish | Sour Jelly Candy | Any | Yes |
| Franken-Flounder | Sour Jelly Candy | Day | No |
| Pop-Rock Pufferfish | Sour Jelly Candy | Day | Yes |
Clear weather and no weather requirement
With the four candy fish moved to the doors, Scarecrow Snapper is the only regular rod catch left that needs Clear skies (Grim Skull also wants Clear, and it’s covered with the Frightful Pools below). The rest of this table ignores the weather entirely, which makes it good filler while you wait for fog, wind, or a Jack-o-Moon. Crypt Crab is the only one locked to Night.
| Catch | Bait | Weather and time | Trick or Treat |
|---|---|---|---|
| Scarecrow Snapper | Taffy Pieces | Clear, any time | No |
| Cobweb Cod | Black Licorice or Candy Corn Cluster | Any | No |
| Crypt Crab | Black Licorice or Hallow-Pop | Any, Night | Yes |
| Decayed Dace | Licorice | Any | Yes |

| Taffy Trout | Taffy Pieces | Any | Yes |
| Frightful Casket | Magnet | Any, no season | No |
| Haunted Eyeball | None listed | Any | No |
| Wooden Stake | None listed | Any | No |
Frightful Pools, Dobhar, and the Nessie variants
The rarest entries sit behind random world events rather than weather alone. FischFright 3 has four Frightful Pool types: Vile, Doomed, Grim, and Eldritch. Each one appears as a glowing pool out on the ocean, and the server announces it. If you’d rather not wait, the Flying Dutchman sells a Frightful Pool Totem for 3,000 Treats, one per player.
Grim Frightful Pool
These four can be caught normally under their conditions, but their odds go up inside a Grim Frightful Pool. When one spawns, it’s the fastest way to finish the group.
| Fish | Bait | Weather | Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Corpse Cod | Sour Jelly Candy | Any | Night |
| Grim Skull | Black Licorice | Clear | Night |
| Poltergeist Perch | Taffy Pieces | Windy | Night |
| Skeleton Sturgeon | Black Licorice | Foggy | Any |
Dobhar and the Doomed Frightful Pool
Dobhar uses Black Licorice under a Jack-o-Moon at Night, and its odds rise sharply inside a Doomed Frightful Pool. That’s the swirling red one, announced with a message such as “There is a Doomed Frightful Pool near Harvesters Spike!” Sail out and cast inside the glow. The same pool also turns up Doomed Relics.

Ghoul Nessie and the Spooky Cemetery admin event
Ghoul Nessie is a Limited+ catch that only shows up while an admin runs the cemetery event. It’s announced as “[ADMIN EVENT] SPOOKY CEMETERY IS HERE! (START FISHING ANYWHERE!)” While it’s active, you can cast anywhere, Caustic Hallow included, and Jack-o’ variants of other fish, like Jack-o’ Coelacanth and Jack-o’ Ghost, join the pool. Ghoul Nessie’s card lists Jack-o-Moon, Night, Autumn, and Sour Jelly Candy. A shiny one has been recorded at odds of 1/87,292.
Admins start the cemetery event by hand, and it has no fixed schedule. When the announcement appears, drop whatever you’re doing and fish.
Ghost Nessie, Plush Nessie, and Zombie Nessie
The event’s three rarest Nessies are Ghost Nessie, Plush Nessie, and Zombie Nessie. Plush Nessie is an extremely rare Trick or Treating reward, so the door grind for the candy fish counts toward it too. Zombie Nessie appears during the cemetery admin event and lists Black Licorice, Jack-o-Moon, and Night. Ghost Nessie’s exact obtainment method hasn’t been confirmed yet.
FischFright 3 entries with unconfirmed requirements
The remaining slots are still being pinned down. Early values exist for the entries below, but they haven’t been verified, so treat them as provisional. The Skulls and Relics line up with their matching Frightful Pools.
| Entry | Bait | Conditions | Method |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mummy Mackerel | Licorice or Candy Corn Cluster | Clear, Day | Better odds at any Frightful Pool |
| Tombstone Tuna | Black Licorice or Candy Corn Cluster | Clear, Day | Fishing or Trick or Treat |
| Jagged Bone | Any | Any | Questline reward or Frightful Pools |
| Coffin | Any | Any | Questline reward or Frightful Pools |
| Vile Skull | Black Licorice | Foggy, any time | Better odds at Vile Frightful Pool |
| Doomed Skull | Sour Jelly Candy | Jack-o-Moon, Night | Fishing or Trick or Treat |
| Eldritch Skull | Sour Jelly Candy | Jack-o-Moon, Night | Fishing or Trick or Treat |
For anything not listed, use the in-game Bestiary as your checklist. Each entry shows its preferences once you discover it, with the caveat about the four candy fish above.
How to confirm a FischFright 3 Bestiary entry
A first catch, from a rod or a doorstep, triggers a “Bestiary: New Catch!” notice on screen. A shiny first catch adds a second “Bestiary: New First Shiny Discovery!” message. Open the Bestiary afterward and the entry shows “Location: FischFright 3,” its listed weather, cycle, season, and bait, the date you discovered it, plus your catch count and largest weight.
Only fish you land yourself count toward completion. A fish traded from another player won’t move your percentage, so every slot has to come off your own line or out of your own Candy Bucket. The Flying Dutchman also sells the four Relics for Treats (Eldritch Relic at 7,500, and Grim, Vile, and Doomed at 2,500 each), but the reliable way to fill those slots remains catching them or pulling them from a door.
