The Doomsekkar Rod is a limited Halloween rod in Fisch, released as part of the FischFright event on Caustic Hallow. You can’t buy it. The Doomsekkar NPC gives it to you after you finish a three-part quest built around Frightful Pools and a haunted house. Most of the time goes into the pool fishing. The ghost fight takes under a minute if you find the right door.
Quick answer: Talk to Doomsekkar at Caustic Hallow. Catch 100 Frightful Pool fish, land 50 perfect catches in those pools, and beat one Haunted House spirit. Then return to claim the rod and 3,000 Treats.
Doomsekkar Rod quest requirements and rewards
After you accept the quest, a tracker appears on the left side of your screen. It counts each objective separately, so you can work on them in any order.
| Objective | Target | Where it counts |
|---|---|---|
| Catch 100 Fish from Frightful Pools | 0/100 | Any Frightful Pool |
| Get a total of 50 Perfect Catches while fishing in Frightful Pools. | 0/50 | Any Frightful Pool |
| Fight the spirits of a Haunted House | 0/1 | A haunted house on Caustic Hallow |
When you turn the quest in, you get the Doomsekkar Rod and 3,000 Treats. Beating the haunted house spirit also gives you an Ethereal Rose. That rose is one of the items used for the event’s rituals, so keep it.
On some versions of the tracker, the second objective reads “Perfect Catch 50 fish in a row from Frightful Pools.” Treat it as a streak. If you miss a catch, you may have to start the count again.

Frightful Pools: 100 catches and 50 perfects
Frightful Pools are glowing green fishing spots that only exist during FischFright. They come in several named variants, including Doomed, Grim, Eldritch and Vile Frightful Pools. Every variant counts toward the quest. They spawn regularly in the main world, and a Global chat message announces each one.
If you don’t want to wait for a natural spawn, you can buy a Frightful Pool Totem for 3,000 Treats and spawn a pool yourself. The totem is sold on the upper deck of the shipwreck, by its mast.
Fishing in these pools is harder than usual because they apply a control penalty. That makes your reel bar harder to manage, and perfect catches are tougher to land. Rods like the Blade of Glorp, Seraphic or Elemental raise your odds of a perfect catch. Every perfect catch you land in a pool also counts as one of your 100 fish, so both counters go up together. Finishing the two fishing objectives at the same time saves you from coming back for a second round of pools.
How to find and fight the Haunted House spirit
Haunted houses are regular trick-or-treat houses on Caustic Hallow that become haunted for a while. When one turns, a notification names the house, such as “House 666 feels haunted… knock if you dare.” The house number and text above its door also glow green, which is the easiest way to spot it.

If the ghost escapes, you’ll see “The ghost slipped away…” and that house goes on a trick-or-treat cooldown of about eight minutes. You can wait it out, or look for a different haunted house that isn’t on cooldown.
Claiming the Doomsekkar Rod
Once all three tracker lines read 100/100, 50/50 and 1/1, go back to Doomsekkar at the shrine on Caustic Hallow and talk to the NPC again. The quest completes and the rod is added to your Fishing Rods inventory, along with 3,000 Treats added to your Treats total. To confirm it worked, open your rod inventory and check that the Doomsekkar Rod is there and can be equipped.
Doomsekkar Rod stats and passive ability
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Lure Speed | 100% |
| Luck | 275% |
| Control | -0.1 |
| Resilience | -666 |
| Max KG | Unlimited |
The rod has high Luck and no weight limit, but its Control and Resilience are both negative, so the reel bar is harder to handle. The passive helps make up for that. During the fishing minigame, small pumpkin bombs appear on the progress bar. When the fish target moves into one, your catch progress speeds up. Fish caught with this rod can also get the Doomsekkar mutation, which only this rod can apply.
Values vary between event builds: some inventory views list Lure Speed at 210%, Luck at 220%, Control at 0.2, Resilience at 0%, and a 220,000kg cap. Inspect the rod in your inventory to see its current values in your game version.
