The Boglin Branch is a quest-only fishing rod from FischFright 3, Fisch’s Halloween event. The event went live with Version 2.06 on October 17th, 2026, at 4PM UTC. You can’t buy the rod. You earn it from the Youngster Goblin in Caustic Hallow by finishing a five-part quest built around goblin challenges scattered across the map. The event’s other quest rod, the Doomsekkar Rod, comes from a separate NPC in the same area and uses a different set of trials. Both are covered below.
Quick answer: Sail to Caustic Hallow on the Flying Dutchman, talk to the Youngster Goblin, finish 3 Normal-or-harder goblin quests, hand him 10 Witch’s Ingredients, and bring back a Boglin Skull, Boglin Twig and Boglin Wraps.
Boglin Branch quest requirements and rewards
The quest appears in your tracker as “FischFright 2026: Youngster Goblin.” All five counters fill at the same time, so a single goblin quest can move several of them at once.
| Objective | Target | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Goblin quests, Normal or harder | 3 | Goblins on islands |
| Any Witch’s Ingredients | 10 | Goblin quest rewards |
| Boglin Skull | 1 | Goblin quest rewards |
| Boglin Twig | 1 | Goblin quest rewards |
| Boglin Wraps | 1 | Goblin quest rewards |
Turning in the finished quest pays out the Boglin Branch, 800 Treats and 5,000 XP. Some quest text refers to the Boglin Twig as a Boglin Fang. It’s the same objective.

Set sail! to travel to Caustic Hallow.

Goblin quests: which difficulties count
Islands across the main sea get goblin spawns, with a maximum of three goblins arriving on one island every five minutes. A notice sent to the whole server identifies the island—for example, Sunstone Island or Everturn Forest. Sail there promptly, as the spawn location moves.
The 3/3 counter depends on quest difficulty. Green-outlined goblins give Easy quests, which don’t advance that counter. Any other outline color can provide Normal, Hard or Extreme quests; higher difficulties award more Witch’s Ingredients. A Hard quest may also yield a Dark Art Skull.
The tasks themselves vary. One Hard quest asks you to “Insult Beatrix 3 times,” which means talking to the witch in Caustic Hallow three times and then returning to that goblin. The Traveler’s Whistle gets you to Caustic Hallow quickly. Extreme quests include tasks like catching 60 fish with the Flimsy Rod, landing 40 Perfect Catches, or trick-or-treating 15 times. Always claim the reward from the same goblin that gave you the quest, or the tracker won’t count it.

Leave Easy goblins alone until your challenge counter reads 3/3. Once it does, you can farm Easy quests, since Boglin parts may drop at every difficulty.
Witch’s Ingredients and Boglin parts
Any mix of ingredients fills the 10/10 counter. These eight all count:
- Dirty Candy Corn
- Strange Root
- Crushed Bone
- Spider Eye
- Giant Mushroom
- Raven Feather
- Bat Wing
- Dark Art Skull
The Dark Art Skull fills an ingredient slot, not the distinct Boglin Skull requirement. Goblin quest rewards can uncommonly drop a Boglin Skull, Boglin Twig or Boglin Wraps; each drop is announced with a “You just got a…” notice. Continue completing goblin quests until you have seen all three notices.
Beatrix’s cauldron in Caustic Hallow consumes Witch’s Ingredients to add Hex Energy toward event rewards. Give your 10 ingredients to the Youngster Goblin before putting any more into the cauldron.
Turning in the quest and confirming the unlock
When the tracker reads 3/3, 10/10 and 1/1 for each of the three Boglin parts, return to the Youngster Goblin and speak to him to submit them. On a successful hand-in, you’ll see “You have unlocked [Boglin Branch]!” and “+800 Treats”; the quest will then vanish from the tracker.

Open the Fishing Rods section of your inventory. The Boglin Branch now has an Equip button there.
Boglin Branch stats and Boglin mutation
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Lure Speed | 80% |
| Luck | 180% |
| Control | 0.05 |
| Resilience | 20% |
| Max Kg | 550,000 kg |
Some inventories have shown -30% Lure Speed instead of 80%. If yours disagrees, trust the live stat card on your own Fishing Rods screen. The in-game description reads “Only obtainable during FischFright 3,” followed by flavor text about a swamp-born bough that sets unpredictable goblin traps.
A custom bobber and catch minigame bar come with the rod. It works like a regular fishing rod in the green pools of Caustic Hallow, Webridden Cavern and Vile Frightful Pools, and accepts standard enchantments such as Mystical. There is also a 25% chance to give a fish the Boglin mutation, raising its sell value by 6x.

This is an event rod at starter tier. It offers newer players a substantial improvement, though it isn’t a replacement for an endgame setup.
Boglin Branch vs. Doomsekkar Rod
| Stat or reward | Boglin Branch | Doomsekkar Rod |
|---|---|---|
| Lure Speed | 80% | 100% |
| Luck | 180% | 275% |
| Control | 0.05 | 0.1 |
| Resilience | 20% | -666% |
| Max Kg | 550,000 kg | infkg |
| Treats on turn-in | 800 | 3,000 |
| XP on turn-in | 5,000 | 20,000 |
The two quests eat your time in different ways. The Boglin Branch involves a lot of travel, because goblins keep showing up on different islands. The Doomsekkar quest takes longer because 50 of its catches have to come in one unbroken streak.
How to get the Doomsekkar Rod
Doomsekkar is a horned figure wrapped in glowing green flames. He stands by the graveyard in Caustic Hallow, at roughly GPS -14988, 146, -9663. Accept his quest before you fish any event pools. Both fishing goals only count catches made after you accept.
| Objective | Target |
|---|---|
| Catch 100 fish from Frightful Pools | 0/100 |
| Perfect Catch 50 fish in a row from Frightful Pools | 0/50 |
| Fight the spirits of a Haunted House | 0/1 |
Completing it awards the Doomsekkar Rod, 3,000 Treats, 20,000 quest XP and 5,000 XP in the Rod Journal. Don’t confuse it with the Dusekkar Rod from FischFright 2; these are separate items. A guide naming a different NPC or omitting the 100 Frightful Pool fish and 50-catch streak is about the older rod.
Frightful Pools and the 50 Perfect Catch streak
These green-lit patches of water appear temporarily in locations across the regular map, with spawns roughly 20 minutes to an hour apart. A server notification signals a new pool, though global chat may reveal where it is sooner. Any of the four types—Grim, Vile, Doomed and Eldritch—count toward the objectives. The two fishing goals work as follows:
- Landing a Perfect Catch in a pool advances both counters: the 100-catch total and the 50-catch streak.
- Only catches made inside Frightful Pools count toward the objective.
- If one pool vanishes and you head to another, your progress remains intact.
- A failed Perfect Catch immediately clears the streak.
- A control penalty in the pools makes the reel bar slow to respond.
You’ll reach 100 catches without much trouble; the streak is the longer task. Fish with a rod you’re comfortable using—Blade of Glorp, Seraphic and Elemental can each make Perfect Catches easier. Check the tracker for your current total instead of keeping count yourself. If you’re nearing 50, stay in that session until you finish rather than changing servers.
You can use a Frightful Pool Totem to bring a pool into being instead of waiting for one to spawn naturally. Buy the totem from the Dutchman Merchant for 1,500 Treats.
Haunted House: Catch the ghost
You can complete the third objective whenever the quest is active; it doesn’t require a pool.
Just entering the encounter isn’t enough. The objective only switches to 1/1 once you’ve actually caught the ghost.
Doomsekkar turn-in confirmation
With the tracker at 100/100, 50/50 and 1/1, talk to Doomsekkar again. He announces that the trials are finished, and you’ll see three confirmations: a “You have unlocked [Doomsekkar Rod]” alert, a “+3000 Treats” message, and the quest dropping off your tracker. The rod then appears under Fishing Rods. If he doesn’t hand it over, check each objective one by one before redoing anything. The streak is the part people most often misread, and the ghost only counts once the catch is completed.
Doomsekkar Rod stats, pumpkin bombs and mutation
| Stat | Value |
|---|---|
| Lure Speed | 100% |
| Luck | 275% |
| Control | 0.1 (40% bar width) |
| Resilience | -666% |
| Max KG | infkg |
| Line distance | 100m |
With no limit on maximum weight, this rod can reel in any fish, and its Luck ranks among the event’s best. Its -666% Resilience is intentional: the wild movement of fish across the bar sends them into the rod’s bombs, turning the penalty into part of its passive. Control appears as -0.1 in some inventories, while early footage displayed very different stats. Check your Fishing Rods screen for the current values.
Instead of a normal reel, the rod drops pumpkin bombs onto the reel bar. Each explosion adds a fixed chunk of catch progress:
- A bomb appears 0.8 seconds later at a spot away from the fish, and as many as 6 can remain active.
- The fish sets a bomb off by moving into it; untouched bombs vanish after 45 seconds.
- Each blast advances progress by +8%, reduced to +2.8% for Progress Locked fish.
- Once 6 detonations have occurred, the rod performs a slash that grants +50% progress (+17.5% on Progress Locked fish) and applies the Doomsekkar status effect for 50 seconds.
- For every blast beyond the sixth, you and other players within 50 studs receive 10 seconds of the effect.
Early estimates put each bomb’s progress contribution at about 5%, with a 10% chance for a “shriek” to provide 50%. These figures could shift if the rod is rebalanced during the event.
The Doomsekkar status effect grants +1.15x Slash strength, +1.2x Lure Speed, +1.1x Movement speed and +10% Doomsekkar Mutation Chance. Groups fishing side by side with the rod can keep the buff running for everyone. The Doomsekkar mutation multiplies a fish’s value by 8x. It starts at a 10% chance and gains 8% for every bomb detonated during the catch, which explains player reports of rates near half. A Jagged Bone with this mutation also counts as a Skeletal Hand item for the Omniscient Ritual.
The rod supports FischFright’s new enchantments. Vile gives a 10% chance at the Vile mutation, adds 10% Forced Progress Speed and shrinks fish by 10%. Piercing lets the rod stab fish while reeling and adds 15% Progress Speed. The description reads “Haunted by the baneless spirit of Matt Dusek,” and the slash reuses the Dusekkar slash sound.
Earning Treats: Scarecrow’s Maze and the Dutchman Merchant
Neither rod costs Treats, but the Frightful Pool Totem and the relics used for enchanting do. Scarecrow’s Maze is a solid early source. Its quest, “FischFright 2026: Scarecrows,” asks you to appease all 6 scarecrows for 1,000 Treats and 5,000 XP. Their requests vary: some want Treats, some want specific fish, and one wants you to dance for 15 seconds. Another has lost its straw arm, and finding it on the maze floor is a side quest worth 100 Treats and 1,000 XP. Once all six are satisfied, the Gatekeeper Scarecrow opens a vault holding a Vile Relic, 15 Frightful Caskets, a Doomed Skull and 1,000 Treats.
You can find the Dutchman Merchant high up near the ghost ship’s mast tops; Treats are the only currency it accepts.
| Item | Price (Treats) |
|---|---|
| Dutchman’s Grasp | 25,000 |
| Davy’s Rose | 7,000 |
| Leviathan Mask | 4,500 |
| Jack-o-Moon Totem | 3,500 |
| Eldritch Relic | 3,000 |
| Omniscient Souls | 3,000 |
| Doomsekkar | 1,500 |
| Frightful Pool Totem | 1,500 |
| Grim Relic | 1,500 |
| Mossjaw Mask | 1,500 |
| Vile Relic | 1,000 |
| Doomed Relic | 1,000 |
| Vampiric Bat Lantern | 1,000 |
| Gumball | 150 |
| Frightful Casket | 30 |
| Blobfish Mask | 10 |
FischFright 3 has no announced end date, and neither rod has a confirmed cutoff. Both descriptions say they’re only obtainable during the event, so finish both quests while it’s still running.
