In Fisch’s FischFright 3 Halloween event, the Omniscient Spinecaster is the final rod, reached only after a lengthy progression. No shop sells it, and it has no dedicated NPC questline. To unlock it, complete the Omniscient Ritual at the ritual site within Caustic Hallow. The rite draws on nearly every other event feature: Frightful Pool fishing, Beatrix’s Cauldron, the Dutchman Merchant, the Skeletal Hands, and Zombie Nessie, a boss fish found in a cemetery. Its in-game description reads “Only obtainable during FischFright 3,” and the rod was introduced in Fisch version 2.06.
Quick answer: Complete the Omniscient Ritual. That requires the Eldritch Ritual done, Hex Stage 5, all five Skeletal Hands awakened, and 12 offerings, including Zombie Nessie, the Omniscient Bone, and 10,000-Treat Omniscient Souls.
Omniscient Spinecaster stats
The rod’s base stat sheet leans heavily on Luck and Progress Speed. It gives up some precision to get them.
| Stat | Omniscient Spinecaster |
|---|---|
| Lure Speed | 120% |
| Luck | 300% |
| Control | 0.05 |
| Resilience | 30% |
| Max KG | Infinite |
| Progress Speed | +50% |
The Luck figure is the highest among the FischFright 3 rods. Uncapped weight means no catch is too heavy to land. The low Control value narrows the catch bar, so fights that demand tight tracking are harder than the rest of the sheet suggests. The extra Progress Speed makes up for some of that, because the bar fills faster once the fish is inside it.
The flavor text calls it “A spine-chilling vertebral cast imbued with all-seeing omniscience, piercing the veil of the unknown depths.” That fits the rod’s look. It is a literal spine, and it sits on your character’s back when you equip it.

Add to Google Preferences →Omniscient Crow, Crown of Bones, and the rod’s two forms
Equipping the Spinecaster summons a hovering Omniscient Crow familiar. While you fish, the crow periodically opens void portals that deliver bonus catches. This is the rod’s main source of extra fish, and the crow’s attacks also feed into the minigame.
The passive switches between two forms that change how those crow attacks pay out:
- Offensive form raises the progress gained from crow attacks, but lowers catch rate and pulling strength.
- Defensive form increases catch frequency and pull strength, while reducing the progress earned from crow attacks.
The rod also builds a stacking buff called Crown of Bones while you fish. At Crown of Bones IV, the popup starts at +28 Omniscient mutation chance, +24% chance to slash fish, and +20% Fish Weight. As stacks build, those climb to the values below.
| Crown of Bones bonus | Starting value | Stacked value |
|---|---|---|
| Omniscient mutation chance | +28 | +42 |
| Chance to slash fish | +24% | +36% |
| Fish Weight | +20% | +30% |
The Omniscient mutation matters for money. An Alchemist Alligator normally worth 3,000 C$ sold for 54,000 C$ with the mutation applied, which is an 18x jump. That is the clearest case for the rod beyond collecting it.
Omniscient Ritual requirements
The Omniscient Ritual stays locked in the Rituals menu until three conditions are met:
- The Eldritch Ritual, the one directly before it, is complete.
- Your Hex Stage is at least 5.
- Each of the five Skeletal Hands near the ritual site has been awakened.
Once it opens, the ritual asks for 12 offerings split across two pedestal types in the circle. Seven offerings go on the Jack-o-Lanterns and five go on the Skeletal Hands. Seven of the 12 are Jagged Bone fish, each with a different mutation.
| Pedestal | Offering | Type |
|---|---|---|
| Jack-o-Lantern | Grim Jagged Bone | Mutated fish |
| Jack-o-Lantern | Vile Jagged Bone | Mutated fish |
| Jack-o-Lantern | Doomed Jagged Bone | Mutated fish |
| Jack-o-Lantern | Eldritch Jagged Bone | Mutated fish |
| Jack-o-Lantern | Zombie Nessie | Fish |
| Jack-o-Lantern | Plush Nessie | Fish |
| Jack-o-Lantern | Dark Art Skull | Item |
| Skeletal Hand | Boglin Jagged Bone | Mutated fish |
| Skeletal Hand | Doomsekkar Jagged Bone | Mutated fish |
| Skeletal Hand | Dutchman’s Curse Jagged Bone | Mutated fish |
| Skeletal Hand | Omniscient Souls | Item |
| Skeletal Hand | Omniscient Bone | Item |
Two of the items come from outside fishing. Omniscient Souls is bought from the Dutchman Merchant for 10,000 Treats. The Omniscient Bone is brewed at Beatrix’s Cauldron once all the required witch ingredients are in, and turning it in also adds 5 Hex Energy. Every fish, skull, and bone on the list is used up when the ritual finishes.
The Boglin Jagged Bone must be a plain copy. Shiny or Sparkling versions are rejected, and the same rule applies to the Boglin fish in the Dutchman’s Blessing Ritual.
The FischFright 3 ritual chain behind the rod
The menu’s ritual sequence progresses downward, placing the Omniscient Ritual at number ten. Starting each earlier ritual costs 100 Treats.
| Order | Ritual |
|---|---|
| 1 | Hexing Ritual |
| 2 | Scary Relic Ritual |
| 3 | Haunted Ritual |
| 4 | Jack-o-Moon Ritual |
| 5 | Boglin Ritual |
| 6 | Dutchman’s Blessing Ritual |
| 7 | Enhanced Boglin Ritual |
| 8 | Haunted Cemetery Ritual |
| 9 | Eldritch Ritual |
| 10 | Omniscient Ritual |
Most of the raw materials come from fishing Frightful Pools. During the event, these short-lived, luminous pools appear across the ocean in Grim, Doomed, and Vile varieties. They yield mutated event fish like Skeleton Sturgeon, Corpse Cod, and Mummy Mackerel, along with the scarce skulls required by the middle rituals. A Big Grim Skull appears at roughly a 1-in-200 rate.

Event quests run in the same waters. Harker Holt’s quest, for example, asks for 5 Wooden Stakes caught from Frightful Pools and pays 400 Treats and 7,000 XP. A Frightful Pool Totem costs 3,000 Treats and forces a pool to spawn when you don’t want to wait for one.

Treats are the event currency, earned from fishing quests and trick-or-treating, and the late rituals spend a lot of them. These are the Dutchman Merchant purchases that tie directly into the path to the Spinecaster:
| Merchant item | Cost | Used for |
|---|---|---|
| Dutchman’s Grasp | 25,000 Treats | Dutchman’s Blessing Ritual |
| Omniscient Souls | 10,000 Treats | Omniscient Ritual |
| Davy’s Rose | 5,000 Treats | Skeletal Hand awakening |
| Frightful Pool Totem | 3,000 Treats | Spawning a Frightful Pool |
Davy’s Rose is limited to one per player. The Flying Dutchman moves around Caustic Hallow, so the merchant ship is easier to find if you look up. The middle of the chain mixes these purchases with event set pieces. The Jack-o-Moon Ritual, for instance, triggers a Jack-o-Moon event across the server when it completes.

The Dutchman’s Blessing Ritual, sixth in line, awards the Dutchman’s Rod. That rod has 100% Lure Speed, 180% Luck, 0.1 Control, 10% Resilience, and infinite Max KG. It periodically produces catches with the Dutchman’s Curse mutation, which is also how you get the Dutchman’s Curse Jagged Bone needed later for the Omniscient Ritual.
Haunted Cemetery Ritual and Zombie Nessie
Zombie Nessie, one of the Jack-o-Lantern offerings, comes only from the Haunted Cemetery Ritual. Starting it teleports participants into a cemetery arena with a 3-minute clock. The group has to gather 15 Haunted Bones and drop them in an offering urn, and each player can carry no more than three bones at a time. The urn shows a running count, so you can see how close the group is.

Filling the urn summons Zombie Nessie out of the cemetery pool, and then it has to be caught before the encounter despawns. That part is not guaranteed. A first run with potions and Aurora active still timed out before the fish landed.

A failed catch means running the whole ritual again, bone collection included. The second attempt worked and produced a Plagued Zombie Nessie, so a mutated version still counts for the offering.

Ritual progress only credits the player who starts it
Rituals can be done in a group, but progress does not carry across the party. Only the player who starts a ritual gets credit toward the chain. In practice, a Haunted Ritual run with three players completed for one of them only. The Boglin Ritual and the Dutchman’s Blessing Ritual also failed to register for players who had not started them.
That gets expensive at the top of the chain. A failed Dutchman’s Blessing attempt started by another player took a 25,000-Treat Dutchman’s Grasp with it. The item was back in the inventory the next day, and the ritual went through once the owner started it personally.
If you want a ritual to count toward your own Omniscient Spinecaster progress, start it yourself with your own Treats, even when friends are helping with the offerings.
Confirming the Omniscient Spinecaster unlock
When every pedestal is filled and the ritual resolves, the game shows the message “The Omniscient Ritual is complete! Unlocks the Omniscient Spinecaster.” The rod then appears among your rods. Equip it and check that the stat sheet shows 300% Luck and +50% Progress Speed, and that the Omniscient Crow appears beside you once you start fishing.
The chain from the Hexing Ritual to this point covers ten rituals, a dozen offerings, and well over 40,000 Treats in merchant items, plus a timed boss catch that can fail. In return you get the event’s highest Luck, uncapped weight, a crow that adds catches on its own, and a mutation worth many times a fish’s base price. Like the rest of FischFright 3’s rods, it is tied to this event, so the window to earn it closes when the event does.
