Bait, weather, time of day, and catch method for every FischFright 3 entry, including Frightful Pool targets and all three Nessies.

FischFright 3 is the Halloween 2026 event in Fisch, and it has its own Bestiary page full of limited-time catches. Each entry has its own preferred bait, weather, and time of day. Some can also be found by Trick or Treating, and some are boosted inside a specific Frightful Pool. Almost every entry prefers the Autumn season. The Frightful Casket is the only one with no season preference.

Quick answer: Travel to Caustic Hallow through Captain Jack at Moosewood Dock. Then match each fish’s bait, weather, and time of day from the tables below, and fish the right Frightful Pool for pool-boosted entries.

How to reach Caustic Hallow for FischFright 3

The event’s catches are tied to the FischFright 3 island, so get there before you start working through the list.

Go to Moosewood Dock. The Haunted Ship is docked there for the event.
Board the Haunted Ship and talk to Captain Jack. He handles all travel to the event area.
In the dialogue, choose the “I want to Travel” response. This takes you to Caustic Hallow, the limited-time island with the houses and most of the event fishing.

FischFright 3 fish you can catch or get from Trick or Treat

Most of the Bestiary falls into this group. Each of these can be reeled in normally, and each can also drop from a house while Trick or Treating. A dash under Bait means the fish has no listed bait preference. “Any” means there is no weather or time requirement.

How Trick or Treating works

Open your inventory, then place the Candy Bucket on the taskbar along the bottom of the screen. Equip it before going up to a house.
Walk up to any house on the FischFright 3 island and knock on the door. An NPC will come out to answer.
Choose the Treat option. The reward is either candy or a fish that counts toward the Bestiary.

Houses do not hand out a fish every time. Fishing with the right bait and conditions is the more reliable way to fill the page, and Trick or Treating works best as a side source.

These entries never drop from houses. You have to hook them yourself.

Frightful Pool catches: Grim, Doomed, and Vile

Frightful Pools are glowing pools that spawn in the ocean during the event, and a server-wide message announces where each one appears. One example is “There is a Doomed Frightful Pool near Harvesters Spike!” Each pool type raises the odds for a specific set of catches, so check the pool type before you sail out.

The Grim pool covers four entries, so it is the one most worth chasing. A Doomed pool is also a good spot to farm the Doomed Relic alongside Dobhar.

Questline rewards that also appear in Frightful Pools

Three entries are given as rewards from the event questline, and they can also be fished out of Frightful Pools.

  • Coffin: no bait preference, Autumn
  • Frightful Casket: Magnet bait, no season, weather, or time preference
  • Jagged Bone: no bait preference, Autumn

Ghoul Nessie, Zombie Nessie, and Plush Nessie

The three Nessies are the hardest entries on the page because two of them depend on an event you cannot start yourself.

Ghoul NessieSour Jelly CandyJack-o-Moon / NightHaunted Cemetery Event
Zombie NessieBlack LicoriceJack-o-Moon / NightHaunted Cemetery Event
Plush NessieSour Jelly CandyAny / AnyExtremely rare Trick or Treat reward

Ghoul Nessie is a Limited+ fish. The cemetery event is an admin-triggered event, and the server announces it with the message “[ADMIN EVENT] SPOOKY CEMETERY IS HERE! (START FISHING ANYWHERE!)”. While it is active, you can cast anywhere, including at Caustic Hallow, and Jack-o’ variant fish start showing up along with the Nessies. No set schedule exists for this event, so the only way to catch it is to be in a server when it runs.

Plush Nessie skips fishing requirements entirely. It is an extremely rare drop from houses, so knocking on doors is the only way to get it.

Checking your FischFright 3 Bestiary progress

Press H to open the Bestiary and switch to the Limited tab to find the FischFright 3 page. Fish you have not caught yet appear as dark silhouettes with a hint in place of their description. Caught entries show their preferred weather, cycle, season, and bait, along with your discovery date and the largest one you have landed.

A new entry pops a “Bestiary: New Catch!” message the moment you reel it in. The tables above cover 43 entries. Any leftover silhouette on the page is your remaining target, and its in-game hint is the best lead for finding it.

Fish received through trading do not fill Bestiary entries. You have to catch each one yourself. Limited fish like the FischFright 3 set also do not count toward overall Bestiary completion, so this page tracks its own progress separately from the main 100% total.
