Fisch Skycrest: Full Guide to the Goriki Idol Quests

Every rod stat requirement in Goriki's five trials, plus the exact rods that clear each one fast.

Every rod stat requirement in Goriki’s five trials, plus the exact rods that clear each one fast.

Goriki is one of the seven Ancient Idols scattered across Skycrest in Fisch, and its five trials are almost entirely about rod stats rather than rare fish. Clear all five and you earn Goriki’s Charms, push your Idol Favor level up, and satisfy Ryusel’s requirement of finishing a full trial set from a single idol. The trick is swapping rods between objectives instead of trying to force one rod through everything.

Quick answer: Catch 10 fish with any rod under 150% Resilience, 15 fish with a rod at -40% Progress Speed or lower, 5 hunt fish using Meg’s Totem, 1 fish with the Cinder Black Rod (0.75 Control), and 1 perfect catch with the Sea Overlord (Evil Pitchfork), then return to Goriki to claim the Charms.

All five Goriki Idol trials and their exact conditions

Each trial checks the stats of the rod you are holding at the moment the fish is caught, not the fish itself. One important detail on how the game reads those numbers: a rod that lists Resilience: 0% is running at 100% resilience, because the percentage shown is a modifier on the base value. That is why the first and fifth trials are easier than they look.

The two rods that decide the run

Trials 4 and 5 are the only ones with hard stat gates, and both are solved by owning the right rod before you start. The Cinder Black Rod is sold by the merchant inside The Laboratory at Roslit Bay, so it is a straight purchase rather than a quest chain. The Sea Overlord, better known as the Evil Pitchfork, is the counterpart because it carries negative Control while leaving Resilience untouched.

Note: keep both rods in your inventory for the whole run. The trials track separately, so you can swap freely between catches without losing progress on the ones already in motion.

How to clear the volume trials (1 and 2)

Equip any standard rod and catch 10 fish anywhere. The 150% Resilience cap is generous, so unless you are using a heavily Resilience-boosted rod, whatever you normally fish with will register.
Swap to a rod with a Progress Speed penalty of -40% or worse. Anything from -40% down to -100% counts, and the game reads the maximum penalty on the rod, not your effective speed with bait.
Head to the Living Garden and catch 15 fish there. Bites come quickly enough that the slower reel speed barely costs you time, and common catches like the Leafscale Lemon Shark all count toward the total.

How to catch 5 hunt fish for trial 3

Place Meg’s Totem to start a Megalodon hunt. This is the reliable way to force hunt fish to spawn instead of waiting on a natural event.
Equip the Fabulous Rod and attach Tryhard Bait. The pairing handles the weight and fight of the hunt spawns without the reel slipping away from you.
Land five hunt catches. Big Megalodon and Big Aurora Ancient Megalodon both register, and the counter ticks up on each successful catch rather than each hook.

How to clear the stat trials (4 and 5)

Travel to Roslit Bay and go into The Laboratory. Buy the Cinder Black Rod from the merchant there, then equip it.
Catch a single fish with it. Its 0.75 Control clears the 0.7 threshold outright, so anything you pull in finishes the trial, right down to a Cement Dumbo Octopus.
Switch to the Sea Overlord for the final trial. Its -0.1 Control satisfies the “0 or less” condition while its 0% Resilience modifier keeps you at exactly 100% resilience.
Land one perfect catch. The catch has to complete cleanly, so keep the marker locked on the fish for the entire reel rather than letting it drift and recover.

How to confirm the trials completed and claim the Charms

Walk back to the Goriki Idol and use the E Talk prompt to interact with it. Completed trials pay out on that interaction, not automatically at the moment of the catch.

Stand at the idol and use the E Talk prompt to hand in finished trials.

You will see an Idol Favor Up! message and the Idol Level counter climb, for example from Level 19 to Level 20. The Charms menu is the other confirmation, moving from Available Charms (2/4) up through (3/4) and (4/4) as Goriki’s rewards unlock. Goriki’s set covers the Relaxation Charm, Brawn Charm, Rush Charm, and Endurance Charm.

Open that menu, select a Charm, and press Equip to slot it into your Crest Amulet. Charms level up further by catching fish in Skycrest, so the bonuses scale the longer you fish the island.

Why a trial does not tick up

  • Your equipped rod exceeds the stat limit for that trial. The check runs on the rod in hand at the moment of the catch, so swapping mid-session resets nothing but only counts catches made with the qualifying rod.
  • The catch was not direct. Four of the five trials specify a direct catch, so anything landed by other means does not register.
  • The final catch was not perfect. A completed but imperfect reel counts as a normal catch and leaves trial 5 open.
  • You have not spoken to the idol since finishing. Rewards and the Idol Favor increase only appear after you interact with Goriki again.

Because Ryusel only asks for five trials from one Ancient Idol, finishing Goriki’s set is enough on its own to unlock the limited rod wish at the Sanctuary. Any Charms and Idol Favor you gain along the way carry over to the rest of Skycrest, so it is worth doing the whole set in one sitting while you still have the rods equipped.
