Fortnite Arcade Cabinets: How Pac-Man and Arcade Volley Work in Battle Royale

Arcade Cabinets are physical machines being built for Fortnite’s Battle Royale map. Walk up to one, interact with it, and your character freezes in place while a small 2D game takes over the screen. This is not live in matches yet, but the system already exists in the game’s code, and two full minigames have been found inside it.

Quick answer: Interacting with an Arcade Cabinet applies a Stasis effect that locks your character, swaps your inputs to simple move-and-action controls, and opens a 2D minigame. Two games are in the code right now, a Pac-Man clone and a Pong-style game called Arcade Volley. You cannot play them in a real match yet, so to play Pac-Man in Fortnite today you need Creative mode.

What happens when you use an Arcade Cabinet

The moment a session starts, your character is hit with a Stasis effect. You are locked in position and cannot move, build, loot, or fight while the minigame is open. The cabinet also switches your normal controls over to a stripped-down input scheme that depends on your platform.

To leave early, press Escape, Right CTRL, or the right face button on a controller. The session also ends on its own if you are eliminated or you lose connection while playing. That last part matters in a live match, since freezing yourself out in the open leaves you exposed until you quit out.

Mobile players are covered too. They get a dedicated on-screen joystick overlay, so the minigames can be played on a touchscreen the same way they run on PC or console.

The two arcade minigames found in the code

Two complete games sit in the files right now. More could be added before or after the feature goes public, but these are the confirmed ones.

Pac-Man clone

The first game is a direct Pac-Man clone with every classic piece intact. The code includes four ghosts, dots, power pellets, bonus fruit, lives, and a full scoring system that saves high scores.

The ghosts run proper behavior states as well. They patrol normally, flip into frightened mode when you grab a power pellet, and return as an eyes-only state after you eat them. Five cabinets dedicated to this game are set to be spread across the map.

Arcade Volley

The second game, Arcade Volley, is a modernized take on Pong. You play against an AI opponent and try to reach a target score before it does. The difficulty scales as the round goes on, so the rallies get harder rather than staying an easy back-and-forth.

Do the cabinets give loot, and can you be attacked?

The code contains a high score system, which points toward some kind of reward, but no in-game loot or prize has been officially confirmed. Treat any rewards talk as unconfirmed for now.

Damage is the more important open question. The Stasis effect locks you in place, but it is not confirmed whether it also makes you immune to incoming fire. Until that is clarified, assume you can still be shot while playing and only sit down at a cabinet when the area around you is clear.

The Epic MEGA Arcade connection

The timing of these cabinets lines up with a larger hub referred to as the Epic MEGA Arcade, rumored to open later in the current season with even more machines and games. No official date for it is confirmed yet. Several names are already tied to that hub, though none are playable in-game.

Fall Guys and Rocket League standing out on that list is the headline detail, but there is nothing to hunt for on the map yet. Do not waste match time searching for these.

How to play Pac-Man in Fortnite right now (Creative)

Since the official cabinets are not live in Battle Royale, the way to actually play Pac-Man in Fortnite today is Creative mode. You can either load a prebuilt island or make your own maze. If you just want to jump in, the “PAC-MAN (FORTNITE EDITION)!” island uses the code 9343-3175-1526. To build your own version, follow the steps below.

Open the gallery props and grab two pieces: the blue block and the black floor. These are the only building materials you need for the maze itself.

Lay the black floor tiles across a large square area to form the play surface. This is the base every wall and dot sits on, so make it bigger than you think you need.

Place the blue blocks on top to shape the maze walls, copying the original Pac-Man layout as closely as you like. To keep the walls aligned, turn Drops off and set Grid Snap to 4 in the phone tool options.

Line the corridors with bollards to act as the dots. These come from the Gas Station preset, and you place one in each open lane so Pac-Man has something to clear.

Open the Devices menu and place Player Spawn pads in the center of the maze. Set their Team and Priority Group so players start in the right spots, with separate points for the Pac-Man player and the ghost.

Open My Island settings and set Starting Health to 1 Health, Infinite Ammo to Off, and Pickaxe Building Damage to Instant. That combination lets Pac-Man clear dots with a single pickaxe hit while keeping the round fragile enough to feel like the arcade original.

Once the settings are in, the match plays out simply. The Pac-Man player runs the maze, destroying as many bollard dots as possible, while the ghost player drinks a slurp juice and chases them down. Whoever clears the most of the maze wins the round.

The arcade cabinets are still a work in progress in the code, so controls, cabinet counts, damage rules, and rewards could all shift before they reach live servers. Until Epic switches them on, the Creative route above is the only way to actually play Pac-Man inside Fortnite, and it is a good stand-in while the map fills up with machines.
