A billboard for Male V confirms the Cyberpunk 2077 crossover finally comes to the game this season. Mortal Kombat characters also show up in the trailer, though their role is not yet clear. The long-rumored Kingdom Hearts crossover did not appear.

New weapons and Mythics coming with Override

Three new weapons feature in the trailer, and two of them tie into the Cyberpunk 2077 collab. Mega Man also brings his own Mythic into the loot pool.

Cartridges, Match Hacks, and Tetris healing

Override changes how each match starts. A cartridge appears and gets plugged into the game, and whichever cartridge is in play applies a specific Match Hack to the entire lobby. Three cartridges are known so far, and more Lobby Hacks go live when the season begins.

The Tetris collab shows up in gameplay too. Rows of Tetris blocks heal your character, which may be linked to a Tetris Junk Rift item or work as a standalone feature.

A new generation of Sprites joins the season as well, including Killswitch, Sonic, Tails, Jazz Jackrabbit, the Klombo Sprite, and Bush Ranger. Expect the Sprite Garden to become a regular stop for collecting them.

Map changes and new POIs

The center of the map has shifted. A spire-like structure now stands where the Zero Point used to be, with wires running from its base up to a floating eye in the sky. Several themed points of interest tied to the season’s crossovers also appear in the trailer, including Sonic and Pac-Man locations.

Geno’s return and the Override storyline

Geno drives the season’s story. He returns with a grudge against Jonesy and the loopers, and he has teamed up with Doctor Eggman, a partnership set up in the Fortnite Sonic comic. Alongside them stands an entourage that includes the Wendigo from the 99 Nights in the Forest collaboration.

The trailer ends with Geno shooting Jonesy once more, and Jonesy finally waking from his coma, setting up the conflict that plays out across Override.

Chapter 7 Season 4 Override launches on August 20, 2026, with the Battle Pass, weapons, and Match Hack cartridges available right away. The Item Shop crossovers roll out over the following weeks, so watch for each character’s release window as the season progresses.
