Legendary Sprites are about to flood the Shattered Coast. For one day only, Fortnite is running a Catch Up Day that pushes the spawn rate for Dream, Punk, and Boss Sprites to four times their normal frequency, covering the base versions and the Gold, Gummy, and Galaxy variants. If you have been grinding the usual 2.436% Legendary drop rate with little to show for it, this is the window built for you.
Quick answer: Catch Up Day starts Thursday, July 2 at 9 AM ET and runs 24 hours, ending Friday, July 3 at 9 AM ET. Log in during that window and extract Legendary Sprites to add them to your collection permanently.
Release time: Thursday, July 2, 2026 at 9:00 AM ET (1:00 PM UTC)

During the 24-hour window, Legendary Sprites and their special variants become significantly more common across the map. The boost applies to three Sprites and every flavor they come in.
- Dream Sprite (base, Gold, Gummy, Galaxy)
- Punk Sprite (base, Gold, Gummy, Galaxy)
- Boss Sprite (base, Gold, Gummy, Galaxy)

For reference, Legendary Sprites normally drop at a 2.436% base rate from Sprite Chests, so a fourfold increase makes the variants you are still missing far easier to find. The boost is centered on the Shattered Coast, which is the spot to prioritize when you drop in.
How to add a Legendary Sprite to your collection
You will know it worked when the Sprite is added to your collection and becomes available to summon with Sprite Dust at the start of your next match. If a Sprite does not show up afterward, it means you were eliminated or the round ended before the extraction finished, so it never banked.
This is a one-day catch up before more Sprite variants enter the rotation, so it is the cleanest shot at closing gaps in your Legendary collection. Set a reminder for 9 AM ET on July 2, head straight for the Shattered Coast, and keep an extractor handy so every Dream, Punk, or Boss Sprite you find actually makes it into your roster.
