Fortnite’s Sprite collection has grown fast since the July 30 update, and Chapter 7 Season 4, called Override, has added quests that hand out Sprites for free. A set of five end-of-season quests found in the game files rewards five Sprites. Two of them, the Crown Sprite and the Klombo Sprite, are among the hardest Mythics to find in normal play. The quests ask for things most players already do in a match: open Pumpkin Chests, enter Trick or Treat Cheat Codes, get eliminations and extract Sprites.
Quick answer: Five datamined Override quests reward the Crown, Spooky Dash, Gold Spooky Dash, Klombo and Trick or Treat Klombo Sprites. They are expected around Thursday, October 22, and the season ends October 31.
Fortnite Season 4 free Sprite quests: Objectives and rewards
The questline sits under the Override branding, the same umbrella that holds the season’s Loot Hack, Sprites, Mastery and 8-Bit Leaderboard tabs. It has five quests, and each one awards a single Sprite. None of them needs a purchase, and none is locked behind the Battle Pass.

The objectives use the progress counters Fortnite already shows on quests:
| Quest objective | Target |
|---|---|
| Search Pumpkin chests | 3 |
| Enter Trick or Treat Cheat Codes | 15 |
| Eliminate Players | 30 |
| Extract Sprites | 20 |
| Extract Sprites | 30 |
The reward pool covers three Mythic base forms and two variants:
- Crown Sprite
- Spooky Dash Sprite
- Gold Spooky Dash Sprite
- Klombo Sprite
- Trick or Treat Klombo Sprite

Each objective tracks as a counter, starting at 0/3 for the Pumpkin Chest quest and 0/30 for the larger extraction quest. When a quest finishes, its Sprite should appear in the Sprites tab under Override, next to the rest of your collection.

Epic has not announced a release time. The quests are expected to go live for the final stretch of the season, most likely around Thursday, October 22. Thursday is the usual day for new Sprite content in Fortnite. Treat that date as an estimate until the quests actually show up in game.
The end date is firmer. The Chapter 7 Season 4 Battle Pass reads “Available through OCT 31 2026,” so if the quests land on schedule, players get roughly nine days to finish all five.
Epic did something similar in Season 3. The Sprite Spree quests ran near the end of that season and handed out Sprites such as the Zero Point and Peely Sprites for objectives like “Reach 10 players remaining.” The Override questline appears to follow the same pattern.
What the five free Sprites do
All five rewards are already in the game and can drop in normal play. Their usual drop rates are very low, though, and two of them level up under strict rules of their own.
| Sprite | Rarity | Ability |
|---|---|---|
| Crown Sprite | Mythic | Extra Crown Wins after a Victory Royale |
| Spooky Dash Sprite | Mythic | Phase through some objects mid-jump |
| Gold Spooky Dash Sprite | Gold variant | Spooky Dash plus 3x bonus XP from eliminations |
| Klombo Sprite | Mythic | Random items at each level |
| Trick or Treat Klombo Sprite | Special | Klombo plus a chance at candy from containers |
Crown Sprite levels up only when you win matches with it equipped, and it reaches Mastery with one win. Mastering it unlocks new variants. Klombo Sprite levels up only when you consume items. Its in-game text says it “only levels up by consuming items,” and Klombo and Adventure Sprites extract automatically once they reach max level. Spooky Dash Sprite runs on charges that regenerate over time, and its cooldown gets shorter as it levels up.

Every player who finishes the questline will get these five Sprites, so trading away rare Sprites to get them now is a poor deal.
Pumpkin Chests, Trick or Treat Cheat Codes and extractions
Three of the five quests use Fortnitemares systems that are already live. Pumpkin Chests are spread across the island and can contain Sprites. During the Halloween event, the season’s Cheat Code panels became Trick or Treat Cheats, which can give a treat alongside the Sprite.

Pumpkin Chests near the FNAF pizzeria
The Five Nights at Freddy’s pizzeria building is the most reliable place for Pumpkin Chests. It has up to three spawn points around the building and one more on the nearby hill. Spawns are random, so a single landing won’t always produce all four, but three chests is a small target.

Trick or Treat Cheat Codes around Chop Shop
Cheat Code panels are built into walls and rock formations all over the map. You enter a directional code at each one. The quest needs 15 codes, which makes this the slowest objective outside the two extraction quests.

Chop Shop and the desert to its west are the most efficient area. The panels are close together, and their glow is easy to spot against the sand. Legendary Cheat Codes guarantee a Sprite variant, and Cheat Master Sprites count every input as correct, which makes each code faster to enter.

Locator gizmos
Two gizmos make both searches faster. You equip them in the Battle Royale match setup before dropping in:
| Gizmo | What it finds |
|---|---|
| Cheat Code Locator | Nearest Cheat Code, small chance of Epic or better |
| Lucky Locator | A buried chest likely to hold a wanted Sprite |
You can also buy a Cheat Code Locator at an extraction terminal for 1,500 Sprite Dust. A Portable Extractor costs 2,500.
Eliminations and extractions
Sprites are extracted at Extraction Sites. You call a crate from the console, it takes about 30 seconds to land, and its arrival alerts nearby players. You can deposit several Sprites at once, and each one pays +550 Sprite Dust. Since September, extracting a duplicate sends Sprite XP to the copy already in your collection, so the 50 combined extractions also help with Mastery. Eliminations help with more than the elimination quest. Bounty Hunter Sprites can drop from defeated opponents, and players always drop whatever Sprite they had equipped.
Fortnite July 30 Update Sprites (v41.30) and where they stand now
The July 30 update, version 41.30, came out during Chapter 7 Season 3, the Runners season. It added more than 20 Sprites and brought the collection to 111. Most of them came from Relic Chests and Sprite Chests. The Peely line spawned only on high, mountainous ground, and the Quack line could be found in the world or earned through Mastery.
| Sprite group | Source in Season 3 |
|---|---|
| John Wick, Ironmouse, Holofoil Zero Point | Relic Chests |
| Llama, Gummy, Galaxy, Gem, Gold Llama | Relic Chests |
| Gem Grim, Holofoil Grim, Cube Zero Point | Sprite Chests (rare) |
| Peely and its four variants | High, mountainous areas |
| Quack Water / Earth / Fire | World spawns or Mastery 35 / 40 / 45 |
| Quack Zero Point | Mastery 55 |
Only five of those Sprites had new powers. The rest were cosmetic variants of existing abilities. John Wick revealed nearby players after a knock, for 3 to 5 seconds. Ironmouse healed 60 to 100 Health when low and added Cloak and low gravity. Llama gave a 5 to 20 percent chance at a weapon upgrade from ammo boxes. Peely pinged nearby players holding rare Sprites within 40 to 80 meters, but it also marked your own position. The Quack variants passed 50 percent of their earned XP to every other Sprite in your inventory.
None of those Sprites can be obtained anymore. The Season 3 Runners generation is archived, so its Sprites no longer drop in Battle Royale. Copies you already extracted stay in your collection. Season 4 has its own Quack set: Quack Jonesy, Adventure, Bush, Klombo and Spooky Dash. You unlock them by mastering at least 60 Sprites over the season. With those five added, Override’s roster is complete at 162 Sprites, and Epic has no further Sprite drops planned before the season ends.
What happens to Sprites after October 31
Sprites are permanent. Everything you extract this season stays in your collection after the season ends. The View Archive button in the Sprites menu lists past generations, such as Season 3’s Batman Sprite, and the Sprite Garden, reached through the Sanctuary, lets you display your whole collection. Consumables do not carry over. Sprite Dust, Extractors and Locators reset at the season change, so it makes sense to spend Dust before October 31.
That makes the final-week questline the last easy chance at Override’s hardest Mythics before they move to the archive with the rest of the generation. If the quests launch on Thursday as expected, five Sprites that are rare drops all season will be available to anyone who opens three Pumpkin Chests and puts in a few evenings of matches.
