The seventh nation of Teyvat arrives with two new characters, the Stellar Swirl reaction, a train network, and a third-person shooter mode.

The seventh nation of Teyvat arrives with two new characters, the Stellar Swirl reaction, a train network, and a third-person shooter mode.

Version 7.0 opens Snezhnaya, the frozen seventh region of Teyvat, and adds a large batch of new characters, weapons, quests, reactions, and gameplay systems. Odette and Alyosha headline the roster, the Cryo Traveler element goes live, and a new Stellar Swirl reaction pairs Anemo with Cryo. Snezhnaya also brings a train system, a third-person shooter combat mode, and a fresh Archon Quest chapter.

Quick answer: Complete Archon Quest Prologue: Act III “Song of the Dragon and Freedom” to auto-unlock a Teleport Waypoint southwest of Volkodlak Tundra, then use it to reach Snezhnaya and start Chapter VII: Act I “Everwinter Without Mercy” at Adventure Rank 18 or above.

How to reach Snezhnaya in Version 7.0

Snezhnaya introduces five new areas: Volkodlak Tundra, White Birch Snowgrave, Everfrozen Earth, Flamefeather Valley, and Fellfrost Peak. Access does not require finishing every earlier Archon Quest.

Reach Adventure Rank 18 or above and complete “Prologue: Act III – Song of the Dragon and Freedom.” Doing so automatically unlocks a Teleport Waypoint southwest of Volkodlak Tundra. If you already cleared that quest, the waypoint unlocks after the update, and you also receive its Primogem reward.
Teleport to that waypoint to enter Snezhnaya and begin Chapter VII: Act I “Everwinter Without Mercy.” You can start this chapter even if you have not completed preceding quests such as “Song of the Welkin Moon: Act X.”

The frozen tundra breaks from the lush environments of earlier nations, leaning into snow-buried architecture and industrial sprawl with Slavic naming and aesthetics.

New characters: Odette, Alyosha, and the Cryo Traveler

Three playable characters arrive with the update, all built around Snezhnaya’s new Stellar reaction mechanics.

CharacterRarityElementWeaponRole
Odette5-StarCryoSwordSupport enabling Stellar-Conduct and Stellar Swirl; off-field Cryo application and Stellar Glimmer DMG
Traveler (Cryo)5-StarCryoSwordOff-field and quick-swap damage; on-field DPS in “Radiance: Stellar-Conduct” state
Alyosha4-StarElectroPolearmSupport that heals allies while dealing continuous Electro DMG

Odette is a celebrated ballerina of Snezhnaya and a member of the Fatui. She continuously deals Stellar Glimmer DMG from off-field, provides steady Cryo application, and boosts the party’s Stellar Glimmer DMG. Alyosha is a hunter of the snowfields who fights alongside his hound and functions as a healer with sustained Electro output. The Cryo Traveler resonates with Cryo to trigger Stellar Glimmer reactions and can act as either off-field support or on-field DPS.

You can raise Friendship to level 10 with Odette and Alyosha to earn their namecards, “Odette: The Singular Swan” and “Alyosha: Sit.”

Stellar Swirl reaction and how it works

Version 7.0 adds Stellar Swirl to the Stellar Glimmer reaction family. Under certain conditions, Anemo and Cryo trigger Stellar Swirl, dealing one instance of Anemo DMG and creating a Stellar Vortex. Only one Stellar Vortex can exist in the same area at a time.

  • The vortex detonates after a short delay, dealing AoE Cryo DMG that can score CRIT Hits.
  • Triggering Stellar Swirl nearby raises the vortex’s level, expanding its blast radius and increasing damage. Extra triggers can also detonate it early.
  • When the vortex explodes, nearby characters gain the ability to jump higher once for a short time.
  • Triggering Stellar Swirl grants certain characters the “Radiance: Stellar Swirl” effect, enhancing some Talents and skills.

Weapons and artifact sets

5-star weapons

Whitelake Frostfeather (Sword) boosts ATK and Stellar Glimmer CRIT DMG while restoring Elemental Energy, and it comes from the Event Wish. Some quest objectives now support direct teleportation from the map with a “Go” button.

How to confirm Snezhnaya unlocked correctly

You will know access worked when the Teleport Waypoint southwest of Volkodlak Tundra appears on your map and you receive its Primogem reward. From there, Chapter VII: Act I “Everwinter Without Mercy” becomes selectable as long as you are Adventure Rank 18 or above. Meeting Points, Daily Commissions, the Adventure Journal, and the shooter mode each unlock at specific story beats within that chapter, so follow the quest markers in order to enable them.
