What the story covers
The Chefs From a Foreign Land begins amid a bustling food street, with familiar faces on hand. Shenhe is filling in after her spatula accidentally punched through a wok. Nearby, Smiley Yanxiao swaps cooking advice with Fontaine chef Savanna, but his imprecise measures—“a dash of salt” and “as needed”—confuse her. Xiangling reveals that Yanxiao is secretly testing himself against Savanna and Escoffier.
Escoffier breaks down Yanxiao’s dish in detail, analyzing his technique and ingredients and noting how even a small amount of salt is meant to draw out the natural flavor of what’s on the plate. The scene sets up the culinary rivalry that drives the rest of the chain.
The Traveler proposes a culinary exchange, and Paimon suggests creating a dish together. Their plans are interrupted by the Chenyu Vale Confectionery Guildmaster, who criticizes today’s festival foods and insists on genuine Five-Nut Wangxiao Cakes. Smiley Yanxiao bets that the group can make a Wangxiao Cake good enough to outdo the traditional recipe.
Shenhe pulls everyone together to make the cake, and Escoffier agrees to work directly with Xiangling. This teamwork closes out Act 1 and hands the recipe project over to the group.
Deliciousness Knows No Borders comes after the preparation. Qiqi and Yaoyao bring Glaze Lilies they collected in Qingce Village, Lu Xiangxiang provides tea leaves from Chenyu Vale, and Shevirme supplies Sumeru spices as Freda assembles an alchemical apparatus. Freda cannot isolate raw tea leaf compounds without a fast-spinning centrifuge, so Shenhe turns Escoffier’s centrifuge by hand at extreme speed, producing pure tea extract for the filling.
A Taste Beyond Time concludes with a tasting for the public. Escoffier unveils the group creation, the Celestial Tea Crisp, a full-sized cake made for sharing with tea-infused flavor to counter cloying sweetness. Inazuma visitors Hyakujitsuhaku Shion and Shiba Murasaki are among those who praise it, while Xiangling and Smiley Yanxiao serve authentic Five-Nut Wangxiao Cakes alongside. The Guildmaster eventually rules that both pastries embody festival sharing and orders the guild to pay for batches for the public. The story closes with a conversation with Zibai, the Streetward Rambler, about Fullmoon Cakes from thousands of years ago.

The first act confirms it worked with a “Quest Completed” pop-up that awards its share of Primogems, the same closing screen shown at the end of each leg.

The Celestial Tea Crisp recipe
The chain’s standout reward is Recipe: Celestial Tea Crisp, a four-star item earned from A Taste Beyond Time. It appears in the Precious Items tab of the inventory and is consumed there to permanently learn the dish, after which the four-star Celestial Tea Crisp becomes available in the cooking menu.
Celestial Tea Crisp is an attack buff food. It raises all party members’ ATK by 224 to 320 and CRIT Rate by 6 to 10 percent for 300 seconds, with the effect applying only to your own characters in Co-Op Mode. The stat range scales with the dish’s proficiency.
