Halloween: The Game – How to Stalk and Use Killer Sense as Michael Myers

The exact controls, Focus Points, and timing that turn Michael's first-person tracking into faster kills.

The exact controls, Focus Points, and timing that turn Michael’s first-person tracking into faster kills.

Killer Sense is Michael Myers‘ first-person tracking mode in Halloween: The Game, and it is the tool that turns aimless patrolling into deliberate hunting. It reveals sound cues on your HUD, highlights nearby prey, and lets you build Stalk on a chosen victim so you can follow them even after they slip out of view.

Quick answer: Press R (keyboard), RS (Xbox), or R3 (PlayStation) to enter Killer Sense, aim your reticle at a civilian to raise their stalk meter, then aim at the glowing Focus Points on their body to break them and fill the meter faster.

How to activate Killer Sense

Killer Sense uses a single input across platforms. Pressing it shifts Michael into a first-person view where audio cues appear directly on the screen. It also switches on automatically whenever you tuck into a hiding spot, so you can read the area before you commit to a move.

In this view, footsteps and environmental noise show up as visual pings on the HUD. Those pings usually point toward the nearest civilian, but they can also be ordinary background sound or a distraction the other side sets up on purpose, so treat a ping as a lead rather than a guarantee.

How stalking builds with Focus Points

Enter Killer Sense and place your reticle directly on a civilian. Holding your aim on them slowly raises their stalk meter on its own.
Watch the target’s body for Focus Points. These marks appear in different spots on the victim while you have them in view.
Aim your reticle at each Focus Point to break it. Breaking these points speeds up the stalk meter far faster than passively watching, so chase them as they pop up.

You can also stalk passively without Killer Sense by simply following a civilian and keeping eye contact, but that is much slower. Killer Sense with Focus Points is the fast route.

What stalk level actually gives you

Filling a target’s stalk meter does more than tag them. It weakens the victim and marks them so Michael can keep tracking them even after they break line of sight. The current stalk level is shown on your HUD.

  • Higher stalk level means the target is weakened more heavily.
  • Higher stalk level keeps them highlighted for longer once they leave your view.
  • Reaching certain stalk thresholds unlocks specific Context Executions.
  • Securing kills off stalked targets feeds your Blood Thirst for a stronger position in the match.

When to use Killer Sense, and when to hold back

Killer Sense is at its best when you are out of a civilian’s sight. Lurk outside a house and stalk residents through the windows, or sit behind a target and build the meter while they have no idea you are there. Staying hidden while you stalk protects the weakened mark you are working toward.

It is also your locator when a target goes missing. Flip into Killer Sense, read the visual audio pings, and let them steer you toward the closest civilian. Just remember those pings can be a plain environmental sound or a deliberate decoy, so confirm before you commit.

Tip: Do not sit in Killer Sense the whole match. It is a focused tool for reading a room or locking onto a specific victim, not a default state. Pull out of it once you have what you need and move on your target.

Michael’s whole rhythm leans on patient, hidden tracking, and Killer Sense is the mechanic that makes that patience pay off. Use it from cover to lock a target, break their Focus Points to bank stalk quickly, then close the distance while they are marked and weakened for the execution.
