Haze Seas Bounty Hunter Remzxy NPC

Bounty and Reputation are the two sides of Haze Seas’ notoriety system: bounty rises as you fight and defeat other players and bosses as a pirate, while reputation is the Marine equivalent. Both climb through the same milestones, unlock powerful titles, and eventually grant the Demon Spawner. This guide explains exactly how bounty and reputation are gained and lost, the key thresholds, penalties to avoid, and every title along the way.

Pirate vs Marine: Bounty & Reputation

The system runs on two parallel tracks. Playing as a pirate builds bounty, while aligning with the Marines (via the Marine Recruiter) builds reputation. Both scale identically and unlock their own title sets, so you pick the side that fits your playstyle and grind the same milestones. You can meet the NPCs behind these systems in our NPC guide.

How Bounty & Reputation Are Gained

Early on, gains are small and capped, but they scale up sharply once you cross the 5 million mark:

SituationGain / Loss
Bounty below 5MOnly 20K gained or lost per kill/death
Bounty at 5M+Larger amounts per kill/death
Island bossesGrant bounty until you reach 1M bounty
SuperbossesBoss level × 50 (a Level 500 superboss gives 25,000 bounty)
Dying to an NPCLose bounty equal to that NPC’s level

There’s also a level-gap rule to prevent farming: if the level difference between two players is more than 1,000, no bounty is gained or lost. For example, if a Level 4,000 player dies to a Level 2,999 player, neither one’s bounty changes. To grind mastery on the bosses that feed this system, see our Superbosses guide.

Combat Logout Penalty

Leaving a fight early doesn’t let you dodge your losses. If an enemy logs out mid-combat, the killer is notified that the player left and will be penalized. The next time that player rejoins, they lose whatever bounty they were meant to lose — unless they’re sitting at 100K bounty or below, in which case no penalty applies.

Reputation & Bounty Announcements

Once you become notorious enough, the whole server hears about it. Reaching certain thresholds triggers a dramatic server-wide chat announcement when you enter — Marines get heroic entrances at 5M and 10M reputation, while pirates get menacing ones at 5M and 10M bounty. It’s a status symbol as much as a mechanic.

The Demon Spawner (25M+)

The biggest reward in the system is the Demon Spawner tool. Any player who reaches 25 million bounty or reputation at least once permanently unlocks it. The summoned demon attacks other players on your behalf — though it won’t target NPCs. Unlocking it also grants the “Bearer of Dark Pacts” title.

Bounty & Reputation Titles

Both tracks reward you with escalating titles at 1M, 3M, 10M and 20M. Here’s how the Marine and Pirate ladders compare:

1MMarine OfficerBounty Hunter
3MMarine CaptainSea Tyrant
10MMarine AdmiralSea Warlord
20MFleet AdmiralSea Emperor

For the complete list of every title in the game and how to unlock them, see our Titles guide.

Conqueror’s Haki & High Bounty

High bounty also changes how PvP works against you. Conqueror’s Haki does not work on players with 8M+ bounty — instead, you can trigger a Conqueror Clash against them. The full mechanics of clashing are covered in our Haki guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you get bounty in Haze Seas?

Bounty is earned by defeating other players and bosses. Below 5M you gain a flat 20K per kill, island bosses feed bounty until you hit 1M, and superbosses give their level multiplied by 50.

What is the difference between bounty and reputation?

Bounty is the pirate notoriety track and reputation is the Marine one. They scale the same way and both unlock titles, but they grant different title sets and align you with opposite factions.

How do you get the Demon Spawner?

Reach 25 million bounty or reputation at least once. The Demon Spawner then unlocks permanently and summons a demon that attacks players for you.

Why did I not gain bounty from a kill?

If the level difference between you and the other player is greater than 1,000, no bounty is exchanged. This prevents high-level players from farming much weaker ones.
