Awakening your race to V2 is the strongest passive upgrade available in Haze Seas. Your starting race already grants a permanent bonus, and V2 pushes those numbers higher while adding brand-new abilities to several races. The upgrade is tied to a single repeatable quest, so once you clear it, you can return to unlock V2 for any race you switch to later.
Quick answer: Reach Level 2200, then complete the Race V2 quest from the Race Engineer NPC. Defeat one Sea Beast, open 50 chests, defeat the Zenith Boss, and pay 1,000,000 Beli plus 100 Gems. Your current race awakens to V2.

Race V2 unlock requirement: Level 2200
The quest has one gate before you can start it. You must be at least Level 2200. Below that level, the Race Engineer NPC will not hand out the quest at all, no matter how many materials you have. Focus on hitting the level cap first, then worry about the objectives.

At Level 2200, you receive a four-part quest. Every player completes the exact same objectives regardless of which race they currently have, so the process never changes when you reroll.

You know it worked when your race passive updates to the stronger V2 values shown below. Because the quest repeats, rerolling into a different race lets you run the same objectives again to awaken that race’s V2.
Every race V1 vs V2 bonus
The table compares each race’s starting passive against its awakened form so you can see exactly what V2 adds before committing to the quest.
| Race | V1 bonus | V2 bonus |
|---|---|---|
| Human | 25% movement speed, 70% HP | 50% movement speed, 70% HP, +1 Observation Dodge |
| Beastborn | 20% movement speed, 5% stamina | 50% movement speed, 10% stamina |
| Skyborn | 50% stronger first Skywalk | Glide (hold Space to descend twice as slowly), first Skywalk twice as powerful |
| Fishborn | 50% swimming speed | 2x swimming speed, 2x movement speed for 4s after leaving water, water immunity for Devil Fruit users |
| Demon | 2.5% Life Steal | 3% Life Steal, 10% chance to create a Hellfire Circle when dashing |
| Dragonborn | 10% HP, 10% Health Regeneration, 25% stronger first Skywalk | 10% HP, Glide (hold Space to descend twice as slowly) |
| D Clan | 5% HP, 5% stamina, Conqueror’s ability (costs 250 stamina) | 10% HP, 10% stamina, Conqueror’s cost reduced to 50 stamina |

What each V2 upgrade changes in play
Human V2
Movement speed doubles from 25% to 50% while the 70% HP bonus stays. The key addition is the extra Observation Dodge, giving you one more chance to slip a heavy attack. That makes Human V2 strong for boss fights and PvP.
Beastborn V2
The jump from 20% to 50% movement speed is very noticeable during travel and combat. Stamina also doubles to 10%, so constant dashing and running feels smoother without draining you as quickly.
Skyborn V2
Skyborn gains a Glide ability by holding Space, letting you float instead of dropping straight down. Combined with a first Skywalk that is now twice as powerful, it becomes one of the best races for reaching high areas and crossing the map.
Fishborn V2
Swimming speed doubles and you keep 2x movement speed for four seconds after leaving the water. The standout is water immunity for Devil Fruit users, which removes the usual penalty of drowning damage. If you sail or hunt Sea Beasts often, this is one of the most valuable awakenings.
Demon V2
Life Steal rises to 3%, and dashing has a 10% chance to spawn a Hellfire Circle that damages nearby enemies. That turns your movement into an offensive tool while the healing keeps you alive in long fights. It improves offense and survivability at the same time, which is why many players rate it highly.
Dragonborn V2
Dragonborn keeps 10% HP and gains the same Glide ability as Skyborn, trading its regeneration and Skywalk bonus for mobility. Some players still prefer V1 for its regeneration package, so this one comes down to whether you value gliding over passive healing.
D Clan V2
HP and stamina both double to 10%, and Conqueror’s stamina cost drops from 250 to 50. That massive reduction lets you activate Conqueror’s far more often, making D Clan V2 much more practical in extended boss fights and PvP.

Once you clear Level 2200 and the four objectives, the awakening is a quick payment away, and the repeatable quest means no race is ever locked out of its upgrade. If you are still deciding which race to commit to, Fishborn V2 leads for ocean content, Demon V2 for aggressive combat, and D Clan V2 for anyone who leans on Conqueror’s during fights.
