Recruitment for HoYoverse's creature-collecting auto-battler is open now, with the test starting July 9 on PC, iOS, and Android.

Recruitment for HoYoverse’s creature-collecting auto-battler is open now, with the test starting July 9 on PC, iOS, and Android.

The next closed beta for Honkai: Nexus Anima, called the Evolution Test, is now recruiting players. HoYoverse opened applications for the creature-collecting auto-battler set in a new corner of the Honkai universe, and this round is the first to add Android alongside PC and iOS. If you want in, the application window is short and the test itself begins soon after.

Quick answer: Apply on the official Honkai: Nexus Anima website with a HoYoverse account before July 3, 2026, 3:59 PM UTC. The Evolution Test begins July 9, 2026 (UTC+8) on PC, iOS, and Android.

Evolution Test recruitment dates and how to apply

Recruitment opened June 22, 2026 at 4:00 AM UTC and closes July 3, 2026 at 3:59 PM UTC. The test is free, has no monetization features turned on, and wipes all account data once it ends. Selection is not guaranteed, so applying early does not hurt.

Go to the official Honkai: Nexus Anima website and log in with a HoYoverse account. Create one first if you do not already have it.
Fill out the recruitment questionnaire. The form gathers details about your hardware, which the team uses to assign platform access.
Submit before the deadline. Each approved platform locks access to the first device you use to log in, so you cannot move an account freely between devices during the test.

You will know if you made it through the “Check Test Access” button on the official website, and accepted players are also notified by email and SMS. If you are not picked, you can still earn access by joining community events on the game’s official social media accounts.

What’s new in the Evolution Test

The announcement came with a new trailer that shows more of Iia, one of the game’s locations. It brings back familiar faces like Nanafey and Kiana while introducing fresh characters, including Bai Mei, the current Novarch of Reality; Hungrille, the 68th Novarch and ruler of the Plane of Satiation; and Olympia, the Acting Director of the True Nexus Syndicate’s Iia branch office. Otto, a name long-time Honkai players will recognize, also appears, and the trailer marks the first time Kiana has received English voice acting in the series.

New collectible creatures shown include Fyrklor and Inkifoal, with Inkifoal evolving into Atragacus during the footage. Blade’s Bladehound is also seen evolving into a creature that has not yet been logged. A separate gameplay showcase highlights visual upgrades since the last beta, with adjusted character models and overall presentation, plus Nexus Anima displayed in alternate color variations through a customization feature that has not been fully detailed.

What Honkai: Nexus Anima is

Honkai: Nexus Anima is a creature-collecting RPG built around the idea of “Nexus,” the connections that bind opposing forces such as light and dark, life and death, and love and hate. When those connections break, fragments of their power take form as creatures called Anima, which become your companions on the adventure. It was first teased at the Honkai: Star Rail anniversary concert in May 2025 and fully revealed on August 29 of that year.

What sets it apart from other monster-raising games is its auto-battler combat. You assemble a team of Anima and position them on a board before each fight begins, similar in structure to games like Teamfight Tactics. HoYoverse has not announced a release date, and more tests are expected before launch, making the Evolution Test another chance for the team to gather player feedback ahead of the full game.
