In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, DMZ Lieutenant Jin-Tae makes the casino-floor encounter dangerous for anyone who stays put. Jin-Tae opens up with heavy automatic fire the moment the Lieutenant banner appears. The fight becomes much easier if you fall back from the exposed floor and fight from the offices behind it.

Quick answer: Head for Heavenly Luck Casino. When the Lieutenant banner appears, retreat through the double doors to the rear offices; defend the entrance from the guards, then kill Jin-Tae along the office corridor.

Jin-Tae location in DMZ

Jin-Tae sits at Heavenly Luck Casino, which your compass marks with a HIGH threat level. The encounter is tied to a Paid Intel side op that moves through two stages. The casino is also the site of Operation Silent Ledger, and Jin-Tae is a stop on a solo money route through Cheongun Village.

  • Compass marker: Heavenly Luck Casino, threat HIGH.
  • Side op stages: “Paid Intel: Reach Jin-tae”, followed by “Paid Intel: Kill Jin-tae”.
  • A secondary way inside is a side entrance, with an ENTER ACCESS CODE keypad mounted alongside.
  • Trigger point: the main casino floor, with slot machines, red carpet and sandbag cover.

The LIEUTENANT / JIN-TAE / HEAVENLY LUCK CASINO banner appears when you arrive on the floor. When the Lieutenant banner appears, Jin-Tae opens fire.

How to beat Jin-Tae from the back offices

Trading bursts with Jin-Tae among the slot machines is a losing deal. The goal is to make Jin-Tae and the guards come to you through narrow spaces.

Get off the casino floor as soon as the Lieutenant banner shows up. Jin-Tae’s automatic bursts hit hard, and the open floor leaves you exposed.
Go back through the double doors to the staff and security passageways behind the floor. Face the entrance and defend it; guards will come through after you. Kill them at close range as they enter.
Continue into the office area, which contains desks, monitors, white shelving and a long counter. The HEAVENLY LUCK CASINO COUNTING ROOM door is along your route, but it’s locked, so continue onward.
Set up on an angle covering the long office corridor and wait for Jin-Tae to come down it. Shoot from cover rather than pushing forward. Jin-Tae goes down in the office near the counters.
Check the corridor before walking to the body. Other squads can show up while you’re looting, and the office is a bad place to get caught with your head down.

You’ll know the kill counted when the game shows SIDE OP COMPLETE / PAID INTEL: KILL JIN-TAE, along with an ELIMINATED LIEUTENANT kill popup. Grabbing the tag afterward brings up KILL CONFIRMED.

Jin-Tae drops and office loot

Beside the body on the office floor, you’ll find JIN-TAE’S DOG TAG. Its pickup prompt says “Jin-tae’s Dog Tag”.

The room around the body is worth a quick sweep before you leave.

The ELECTRONIC SENSORS are a 3D printer part used for the Spotter Scope and the UAV, so search the office computer before you head out. The FINN LMG is just loose in the room with the other bodies, not a Jin-Tae drop. The Counting Room door you passed on the way in stays locked. The dog tag also counts toward the Boss Board.
