The Assault Rifle is the strongest and most expensive weapon in How to Fish, the physics-based fishing game from Dazed Games. It is locked behind progression, so you cannot buy it early. Where the Assault Rifle is sold

The weapon shop itself is set out on military crates. Look for a soldier NPC sitting outside a green tent. The guns are laid on the crates right beside him, each with its own price and an interact prompt.
How to buy the Assault Rifle
You will know it worked when the cash is deducted and the Assault Rifle appears in your weapon slots, ready to equip and fire. If the prompt does nothing, your balance is under $20,000.
Volcano Island shop prices
The crate shop carries the full weapon list plus muzzle and optic parts. At $20,000, the Assault Rifle is by far the priciest line on the board.

Farm the cash on Volcano Island first
Twenty thousand is a lot of money, but the smart move is to save while working through the earlier islands and then finish the grind on Volcano Island itself. Fish here are worth far more than anywhere else, so the last stretch of saving goes quickly.
Once you have grill or lava access, cook your catch before selling. Lava-cooking pushes an item’s value up to a 1.5x multiplier and hits that number cleanly, with no timing risk. Reel in fish, cook the pile, sell it, and the Assault Rifle pays for itself fast.
Kit it out before the final boss
The Assault Rifle is built for the final fight against the Mutated Bowhead Whale, so buy it before you throw the whale carcass into the volcano. A couple of upgrades make that battle noticeably easier.
Every weapon has four attachment slots. Filling all four on one gun also unlocks the Fully equipped achievement, and the Assault Rifle is the natural pick since you want it maxed for the ending anyway.
