Shadow is a Secret-tier unit in Anime Expeditions, built around Megumi Fushiguro from Jujutsu Kaisen and his shadow-summoning technique. It arrived with the game’s official release on July 17, 2026, and it sits at the top of most late-game defense plans because its summoned spirits scale alongside the main unit. Getting it comes down to two things, a very low roll on the right banner and a fixed set of evolution materials.
Quick answer: Reach EXP level 10, then reroll the Standard Banner at the Summon area for 50 Gems per pull. Shadow has a 0.01% drop chance. Once owned, evolve it into Shadow (Divine) with 20 Blue Sprites, 20 Green Sprites, 20 Red Sprites, 3 Rainbow Sprites, and 10,000 Gold.

Requirements to Summon Shadow
Shadow only rolls from the Standard Banner, and Secret-tier pulls stay locked until your account hits experience level 10. If you have not reached that level yet, progress through Story mode first, since the Secret slot on the banner shows as locked until the requirement is met.
| Detail | Value |

| Source | Standard Banner (Summon area) |
| Cost per roll | 50 Gems |

You know it worked when Shadow appears in your unit inventory as a Secret-tier character. If the Secret slot still reads as locked, your account has not yet reached level 10, so return to Story mode and level up before rerolling again.
Evolving Shadow into Shadow (Divine)
The base Shadow unlocks its full kit only after evolution. To reach the Divine form, gather the colored Sprites, the Rainbow Sprites, and the Gold listed below, then complete the evolution at the relevant menu. Sprites come from daily and weekly challenges, events, and Beginner Path rewards, while Grey Sprites can be converted into any colored version if you run short.
| Material | Quantity |
|---|---|
| Blue Sprite | 20 |
| Green Sprite | 20 |
| Red Sprite | 20 |
| Rainbow Sprite | 3 |
| Gold | 10,000 |
Once the materials are spent, the unit converts to Shadow (Divine) and its passive abilities become active on the battlefield.
Shadow (Divine) abilities
The Divine form leans on summoned spirits that fight independently and a map-wide control ability. Its damage output ramps as you upgrade Shadow during a match, and the summons carry their own value on the track.
| Ability | Effect |
|---|---|
| Wolf Spirit | Unlocks at Upgrade 5 and summons a Wolf Spirit at the unit’s location. It acts as a separate unit and can be upgraded on its own. |
| Shadow Realm | Turns the map into the Shadow Realm. Enemies within 50% of the unit’s range are hit by Shadow Rewind (max twice per enemy), and all Magical units gain a 25% damage boost for 30 seconds. It has a 60-second cooldown. |
| Divine Spirit | Summons a Divine Spirit and stuns the user for 15 seconds. The spirit deals 100% of the unit’s base damage and stays permanently, since it cannot despawn, be defeated, or be stunned. |
Note: Shadow’s value climbs sharply when paired with the rare Unbound trait, which lifts stat caps and carries its buffs onto the summoned spirits. That combination is what pushes Shadow into the strongest late-game bracket, though the trait itself rolls at just 0.1% from the reroll pool and is entirely separate from the summon grind.
Between the 0.01% pull and the Sprite requirements, unlocking a fully evolved Shadow is a long-term goal rather than an early-game pickup. Bank your Gems for the Standard Banner, farm Sprites through repeatable challenges as you play, and the Divine form becomes a lasting anchor for Story clears, raids, and infinite modes once everything is in place.
