How to Unlock Lightsabers in Fortnite Star Wars Droid Tycoon

Lightsabers in Star Wars Droid Tycoon are not floor loot or a mission reward you stumble into. Each one is a fixed unlock tied to a specific Kyber color, and you earn it by building enough droids of that color. The weapons sit in glass display cases inside the underground bunker, and every case tracks its own progress.

Quick answer: Craft 20 unique droids of a single Kyber color (Green, Blue, or Purple), then interact with that color’s display case in the bunker to claim the lightsaber. Duplicate droids do not count.

The three lightsaber colors and their requirement

There are three lightsabers, one per Kyber color. Each one needs the same thing: 20 different droid models of that color. The droids must be distinct, so building the same droid twenty times will not move the counter. You track your count in the Kyber tab of the Droidex, or by walking up to each display case, which shows a live figure such as 16/20.

Get Kyber crystals first

Every Kyber droid starts with a Kyber crystal, so that resource is the real bottleneck. You gather crystals in two ways:

Complete world missions, which pay out crystals as rewards.
Craft Kyber droids, which also feeds crystals back into your supply.

Roll droid colors through Huyang

Take your Kyber crystals to Professor Huyang. Handing crystals over is what produces a Kyber droid variant.

Accept that the color is random. Huyang rolls Green, Blue, or Purple for you, and you cannot choose which. Because of that, focusing on a single color means turning in crystals repeatedly until you accumulate enough of the shade you want.

Craft 20 unique droids of one color

Keep building distinct droid models in your target color. Only new, different droids advance the total, so aim for variety rather than repeats of a droid you already own.

Open the Droidex terminal and select the Kyber tab to check your progress. The tab breaks down Green, Blue, and Purple counts so you can see exactly how close each color is to 20.

Claim the lightsaber from the bunker

Go across the main street, then descend to the underground bunker. Along the left wall, lightsaber cases are mounted with a colored glow below each one.

Walk up to the case that matches your finished color. If that color has hit 20, interact with the case to pull the lightsaber straight into your loadout.

How to confirm the unlock worked

The display case updates from a progress figure to an unlocked state once you reach 20, and the weapon appears equipped when you claim it. The Green version shows in your hands as the Jedi Padawan Lightsaber (Green) with Mythic rarity, ready to swing and block.

What the lightsaber does in Droid Tycoon

Its melee combat follows the standard Battle Royale style: chain combo swings to attack, or hold to block and parry blaster fire. Use it to take down enemy droids and Stormtroopers on world missions.

A lightsaber swing at a crafting station won’t make droids finish building any sooner. Pickaxe strikes can speed up a build, but hitting a crafting table with the blade leaves its timer unchanged, so save the lightsaber for combat instead of farming.
