Moon Cut is a 4-star Katana in Broken Blade and one of the strongest blades you can craft for the mid-to-late game. You unlock it on Nidavellir Island, the raid zone also called the Demon Challenge Island, by interacting with the weapon directly in front of the Boss Arena entrance once you have every required material. Coins, Gems, and Katana Pieces are all farmable through normal play. The real wall is the 100 Moon Pieces.
Quick answer: Travel to Nidavellir Island, stand in front of the Boss Arena, and interact with Moon Cut while holding 1,500,000,000 Money, 5,052,010 Gems, 5,000 Katana Piece I, 2,500 Katana Piece II, 1,000 Katana Piece III, 10,000 Fire Seed, and 100 Moon Piece. The weapon unlocks the moment all materials are met.

Moon Cut crafting requirements in Broken Blade
You collect the Broken Blade version of Moon Cut on Nidavellir Island, then complete it by handing over the full material list. To reach the island, open the teleport portal in front of any island, bring up the teleport menu, and pick the fifth area. After arriving, head to the respawn checkpoint near the Boss Arena, where the weapon sits ready to be claimed.
| Material | Amount required |
|---|---|
| Money | 1,500,000,000 |
| Gems | 5,052,010 |
| Katana Piece I | 5,000 |
| Katana Piece II | 2,500 |
| Katana Piece III | 1,000 |
| Fire Seed | 10,000 |
| Moon Piece | 100 |
Money and Gems pile up from defeating bosses, grinding mobs, and redeeming codes. Katana Pieces drop from higher-level enemies and boss fights, with Katana Piece I being the scarcest of the three. It only shows up in Mythical and Legendary Chests or as a very rare mob drop. Fire Seeds also drop at a low rate from enemies, and you can pick up extras by interacting with bunnies that spawn around the islands.

Add to Google Preferences →How to farm Moon Pieces in Broken Blade
Moon Pieces are the hardest material on the list and the main reason this is a long-term goal. They drop only from raid bosses inside the Nidavellir Colosseum Arena, summoned through the Demon Summoner NPC. The most reliable target is the Moraros boss on Hard Mode, where each kill carries roughly an 8% chance to drop a Moon Piece. These raids are demanding, so aim to be above level 10,000 with a strong build before attempting them.

Because the drop rate is low and you need 100 of them, order matters. Prepare your character and your Luck before you ever summon Moraros, or you will burn through resources for nothing.
If the boss grind is too punishing for your build, many late-game players trade spare Moon Pieces and other materials. Trading is often the quickest way to close the gap on the final few pieces.
Upgrading Moon Cut after crafting
Once Moon Cut is in your inventory, you can push its stats higher. Visit the Forge Master NPC on Muspelheim Island or use the Soul Forge on Jotunheim Island. Feeding in higher-rarity materials raises the weapon’s stats and unlocks additional perks. Moon Cut performs especially well for Katana users paired with the Vanir or Elf race, both of which add weapon-specific damage bonuses.
You will know the unlock worked when you can interact with Moon Cut at the Boss Arena and the weapon moves into your loadout instead of prompting you for more materials. If the interaction does nothing, you are short on at least one item, almost always Moon Pieces, Fire Seeds, or Katana Piece I. Top up the missing material and try again.
