Project Slayers 2: Insect Breathing Trainer Location (Butterfly Estate)

Insect Breathing is one of eight styles in Project Slayers 2, and the only way to learn it is to find one specific NPC. Plenty of players reach the right zone, circle the courtyard at ground level, and leave convinced the trainer is broken or missing. He isn’t. He is standing above their heads.

Quick answer: Reach Butterfly Estate, which lies west of Mistfall Harbor, and get onto the main building’s roof. Insect Trainer Shinora is waiting there, and his training dialogue becomes available at Level 25.

Where Insect Trainer Shinora stands in Butterfly Estate

Butterfly Estate, also written as Butterfly Mansion, is unmistakable once you drop into it. The whole valley sits under a purple haze, wisteria trees ring the grounds, red torii gates mark the path to the buildings, and a zone marker with a butterfly icon appears when you arrive.

If you have already run into the Insect Trainee wandering the courtyard, you are in the correct place. The trainer is directly above that patrol route.

Routes to Butterfly Estate

The estate has no designated entrance. It lies in a valley enclosed by tall cliffs, meaning nearly every route concludes with a ledge drop into the purple fog below. Begin from whichever starting point is nearest to you.

Unlock Wall Climb and Double Jump in your skill tree before you set out. Several cliff faces on these routes are too tall to clear otherwise, and the climbs eat stamina fast.

From Bamboo Grove

Begin in Bamboo Grove and make for the zone’s boundary cliff. Use your movement abilities to descend the stacked ledges instead of following the lengthy route around.

Use a westbound dash across the Wilderness, going past the Wind Leader Sanemi boss area. Continue to the plateau’s rim, where the valley lies below.

Go over the cliff and descend to the grounds. Purple fog and wisteria trees will be visible as soon as you touch down.

From the Mistfall Harbor spawn

Start at the pink crystal beside the red torii gate, then travel south and west into the wilderness. Along the route, climb a chain of grassy cliffs.

In Mistfall Harbor, use wall-climb jumps to get up the tall vertical rock face. This section consumes the most stamina, so pause on a flat ledge whenever you need the bar to refill.

From the summit, scan the valley below for purple fog. Go over the edge and descend directly into the estate.

From the starting spawn or Beginner Village

Depart from the Windy Peak shrine area, pass Krue the quest giver, and descend the slope leading away from the spawn. At the bottom, turn sharply toward the open ground.

Dash straight through the Wilderness and across its fields. Pass the NPCs without stopping and maintain your forward path.

Use the wooden fences as a guide, then get onto the stone-wall ledge along the ridge. A normal jump cannot clear this obstacle by itself.

Cross the rocky ground near Mistfall Harbor before descending the cliffside through the series of steep drops. Once you pass the ridge top, the estate’s purple glow comes into view, and the last mountain ledge places you on its grounds.

Landmarks that confirm you are on the right path

The valley routes look similar in every direction, so use fixed scenery to check yourself instead of guessing. These are the markers worth watching for:

How to reach Shinora on the roof

After landing, take the path through the red torii gate and pass the Insect Trainee while heading for the large main building. Do not bother with the ground-level doorways; the trainer is not inside them.

Go around the building’s side, jump to the upper balcony, and climb onto the roof above it. With the skill unlocked, you can also use a double jump to land directly on the tiled roof.

Make your way toward the rear roof. Shinora is seated on the roof ledge above the rear balcony; once you are close enough, [T] Insect Trainer Shinora Chat appears. Use the indicated prompt key to start the conversation.

What Shinora asks for before training starts

Finding the NPC and unlocking the style are two separate jobs. Every Breathing Style in the current build shares the same Level 25 milestone, then layers its own fee and material costs on top. Shinora’s dialogue lists those exact numbers, so read the prompt first and farm afterwards rather than stockpiling blindly.

Player Level 25 or higher.
A Wen fee to begin the questline.
Materials such as Demon Horns and Beast Cores, turned in at the trainer.
Training objectives that mix minigames with a fight against the Insect Trainee.

Demon Horns are the most common requirement across every style. They drop from demons in the waterfall cave in Bamboo Grove and from the demons out in the snowy region, and each kill can yield more than one horn.

Shinora’s requirements can be viewed well before you can afford them. Finding him ahead of time prevents another map crossing later.

How to confirm Insect Breathing unlocked

There are three signs that everything is proceeding correctly. Shinora’s name on the interaction prompt shows that you reached the correct NPC and building section. If the training conversation opens rather than rejecting you, you have met Level 25 and paid whatever cost he requires.

The final check is the important one: Insect Breathing enters your moveset only after you complete his objectives, including battling the Insect Trainee on the grounds below. Simply closing the chat window does not grant the style.

If Shinora does not appear at Butterfly Estate

Elevation is nearly always the reason. This game’s trainers may occupy rooftops, spots above cliffs, or areas behind buildings instead of open ground, so check the roof and rear balcony before deciding something is wrong.

If the roof truly has no one on it, verify your level and make sure the area loaded properly. Rejoining the server is the quickest solution when a zone fails to load and NPCs are absent from their expected locations.

Butterfly Estate is useful beyond unlocking Breathing. Ren, the Gourd vendor, is in the same area and opens his shop after you return his blade, allowing both tasks in one visit. Other trainers are hidden in similarly inconvenient places: the Flame trainer is on a wooden hut’s roof past Mistfall Harbor, while the Wind trainer is on a platform in Iceveil Valley’s snow. Make checking above you a habit.
