The exact spot where Insect Trainer Shinora stands, plus the cliff routes that get you to Butterfly Estate.

Insect Breathing is one of the eight Breathing Styles in Project Slayers 2, and like every other style, it is locked behind a single NPC hidden somewhere on the map. That NPC is Insect Trainer Shinora, and plenty of players walk straight past him because he is not standing at ground level with the rest of the estate’s residents.

Quick answer: Travel west of Mistfall Harbor to Butterfly Estate, then climb onto the roof of the main estate building. Insect Trainer Shinora sits on the roof ledge with a chat prompt.

Insect Trainer Shinora location: Butterfly Estate roof

Butterfly Estate, sometimes referred to as Butterfly Mansion, is impossible to mistake once you are inside it. The whole zone sits under a purple haze with wisteria trees ringing the grounds, and a “Butterfly Estate” marker with a butterfly icon pops up when you arrive.

Routes to Butterfly Estate

There is no single entrance. The estate sits in a valley below a ring of high cliffs, so most routes end the same way, with a drop off a ledge into the purple fog. Pick whichever starting point you are closest to.

From Bamboo Grove

Start in Bamboo Grove and walk to the cliff edge at the boundary of the zone. Use your movement abilities to drop down the stacked ledges rather than taking the long path around.

Leaving Bamboo Grove means scaling and dropping cliff faces, so keep an eye on your stamina bar. Shown at 00:32 in Corgi’s video.
Dash west through the Wilderness, passing the Wind Leader Sanemi boss area. Keep running until you reach the edge of the plateau that overlooks the valley.

Leap off the cliff edge and fall into the estate below. The purple fog and wisteria trees appear as soon as you land.

From the Mistfall Harbor spawn

From the spawn point marked by the pink crystal and red torii gate, head south and west into the wilderness. You will climb a series of grassy cliffs on the way.
At Mistfall Harbor, scale the tall vertical rock wall using wall-climb jumps. This is the most stamina-hungry part of the trip, so let the bar refill on any flat ledge you can reach.

At the peak, look down over the valley for the patch of purple fog. Jump off the edge and drop straight into Butterfly Estate.

From Beginner Village

From Beginner Village, take the path out toward the estate side of the map. A stretch of large boulders confirms you are still on course; continue past it, then descend the cliff. Keep moving until the Butterfly Estate marker appears.

Unlocking the Climbing skill in your skill tree makes several trainer locations far less painful to reach, including the cliff walls around this valley.

How to reach Shinora on the roof

Once you land in the estate, run past the Insect Trainee and head for the main building. Ignore the ground-floor doorways, since the trainer is not inside.
Move along the side of the building and jump up to the upper balcony. From there, climb onto the roof section above it.

Walk up to the seated NPC on the roof ledge. You know you have the right one when the nameplate reads Insect Trainer Shinora and the [T] Insect Trainer Shinora Chat prompt appears on screen. Press the prompt key to open his dialogue.

What to check before you start the training

Finding Shinora and unlocking the style are two different jobs. Every Breathing Style has its own level and material costs, and the trainer’s dialogue is where those exact numbers are listed. Open the chat first, note what he asks for, then go farm.

  • Breathing training in Project Slayers 2 generally starts around level 25.
  • Demon Horns are a common material requirement, farmed from demons in the snowy region.
  • Trainers also charge a fee to begin the questline.
  • Training questlines typically mix minigames with a fight against that style’s trainee.

You can visit Shinora and read his requirements long before you can afford them. Locating the trainer early saves you a second trip across the map later.

Shinora is not the only trainer perched somewhere awkward, either. The Flame Breathing trainer stands on the roof of an isolated hut out past the harbor, so if you are collecting trainer locations as you explore, get in the habit of looking up.
