Iron Soul Dungeon Races Tier List: Every Race Ranked (August 2026)

Which races to keep, which to reroll, and the top picks for damage, farming, mobility, and defense.

Which races to keep, which to reroll, and the top picks for damage, farming, mobility, and defense.

Your race in Iron Soul Dungeon sets the floor for your whole build, boosting attack, crit, skill damage, movement, and survivability before your gear ever comes into play. The rarer races carry the strongest stat spreads, but a few lower-rarity picks stay useful far longer than their drop rate suggests. Here is where every race lands right now, with the reasoning behind each placement.

Quick answer: Lucifer and Demon are the best races overall. If you cannot chase a Mythic, keep Fairy or Sorcerer for pure DPS, Night Elf for ore farming, Angel for defense, and Vampire for mobility. Reroll Human and Goblin as soon as you can.

Demon DemonSMythic (0.2%)Near-Lucifer power with better mobility

Undead UndeadCRare (13%)Offense plus defense starter
Human HumanCCommon (25.5%)Weak starter attack
Goblin GoblinDUncommon (24.5%)Dash cooldown only

These placements are weighted mainly by overall DPS, with mobility, farming, and defense called out where a race stands above the pack. The rankings reflect the current August 2026 season. Note that rarer races are also harder to star up, since each upgrade needs a duplicate reroll, so a lower-rarity race can be more practical to reach 3 stars.

Why Lucifer and Demon top the list

Lucifer is the single best race because it boosts every part of your kit at once and still posts the highest raw damage. On top of that damage, you get the second-highest Luck bonus for drop chance, solid movement, and strong defenses. The catch is that pulling and starring a Mythic at 0.2% takes real time, but once Lucifer hits 3 stars you are effectively finished chasing races.

Demon sits right behind it and covers nearly everything Lucifer does at a slightly lower scale. It trades some skill damage for cooldown reduction, and it gives up Lucifer’s health boost, but it actually moves faster thanks to higher move speed and dash distance. For most aggressive builds the gap between the two is small.

A-tier: the crit damage specialists

Fairy and Sorcerer are almost the same race statistically, both built around maximizing crit and skill damage while charging your Ultimate faster. Stack up crit and you deal enormous burst, especially with how frequently you can cycle Ultimates. The trade-off is real: neither has meaningful mobility or defense, so every dash needs to count. Fairy edges out slightly higher numbers, but you can treat them interchangeably.

B-tier: farming, defense, and mobility picks

Night Elf plays like a weaker Lucifer, which still makes it very good. Your damage falls short of Fairy and Sorcerer, but you gain more defense and the highest Luck bonus in the game at +200%. If your goal is farming ore and boosting drop chance, Night Elf is the pick.

Angel blends offense with the best defensive package available, pairing a chunky health boost with strong movement and dash bonuses. Its damage is close to top-tier without quite reaching it, which makes it a dependable all-rounder.

Vampire is the most mobile race in the game, with the highest move speed and dash distance by a wide margin. Its crit setup mirrors Fairy and Sorcerer, so damage stays respectable even without extra base boosts. Vampire is limited to the current season and becomes unobtainable afterward, so grab it while you can if mobility is your priority.

C-tier and D-tier: starters and reroll targets

Dragonkin is the strongest C-tier option and an excellent beginner race. Once you build some crit chance and lean into skills, it puts up solid mid-game numbers, and the extra dash distance adds a bit of mobility. Orc, Undead, and Human are fine early holds that you replace as rerolls pile up, with Human being the weakest of the group.

Goblin sits alone in D-tier. Its dash cooldown reduction is genuinely useful, but the race deals the worst DPS in the game, so it is not worth keeping once you can roll into anything above it.

How to get Race Rerolls

Race Rerolls are how you cycle toward the races above, and there are several ways to earn them:

  • Codes
  • Season Store, Grocery, and Bond Shop
  • Lucky Spin
  • Battle Pass
  • Robux
  • Index Quest

Season Vouchers, which you can spend in the Season Store, drop from Endless Tower floors, making the Tower a steady source of extra rerolls between other rewards. If you are free-to-play, hold your rerolls until you land something in A-tier or above rather than settling on a weak starter.
