WhatsApp has begun rolling out the much-awaited group calling feature for both audio and video calls. The feature is already live for WhatsApp for Android users and should be coming to iPhone as well at any time now.

WhatsApp for iPhone app was updated earlier today to version 2.18.61, but it didn’t mention any new features in the changelog. However, the group call UI was already there in the 2.18.60 version of the app by WABetaInfo. So it’s now in the hands of WhatsApp to enable the feature for iPhone users with a server-side switch.

How to Make a Group Call on WhatsApp

  1. Open WhatsApp and tap on Calls on the bottom bar.
  2. Make a video or audio call to someone.
  3. On the call screen, you’ll see an Add contact icon at the top right of the screen. Tap on it to add another person to the call.

That simple!

Tip: When receiving a group call on WhatsApp, you’ll see pictures and names or numbers of the persons on screen incoming call screen so you could decide whether you want to take a call or not.
