Marvel Rivals: Season 10 Patch Notes Bring Gorr the God Butcher and Scarlet Witch Rework

Everything changing when Season 10 goes live, from Gorr's Duelist kit and Wanda's Chaos Marks to a roster-wide balance pass.

Everything changing when Season 10 goes live, from Gorr’s Duelist kit and Wanda’s Chaos Marks to a roster-wide balance pass.

Season 10 of Marvel Rivals brings a new god-slaying Duelist, a rebuilt Scarlet Witch, and balance changes that touch roughly 70% of the roster. Gorr the God Butcher headlines the update as the only new playable hero this season, arriving alongside a new map, a fresh battle pass, and a reworked Competitive ban system.

Quick answer: Season 10 goes live on September 11, 2026, at 9 AM UTC. Servers enter maintenance beforehand, so expect at least two hours of downtime before you can play. Once maintenance ends and you can queue into a match, the update is live.

Season 10 launch time and downtime

The update carries version number 20260911. Downloading the patch is not enough to jump in right away. NetEase Games runs server maintenance ahead of the switchover, and that downtime lasts a minimum of two hours. During that window matchmaking is unavailable across platforms.

You will know the season is live when servers come back up and you can enter a match with Gorr selectable on the hero screen. Loki is marked as missing in-game and is disabled in Quick Play, tied to the season’s story.

Gorr the God Butcher joins as the season’s only new hero

Gorr is a melee-focused Duelist built around the All-Black Necrosword. The blade shapeshifts into other weapons, including a bow and a scythe, and the scythe form gives him extra reach in close fights. He is highly mobile, using Symbiote Assimilation to reposition quickly across the arena.

His signature mechanic turns fallen enemies into Black Berserkers, AI-controlled minions that fight on his side much like Magik’s summons. His ultimate empowers the Necrosword for a short burst of heavy damage. Gorr is the sole new character this season, a break from the usual two-hero cadence so the team can focus on the ongoing Avengers: Doomsday tie-in content. Two new heroes are planned for Season 11.

Scarlet Witch rework and Chaos Marks

Wanda receives one of the season’s most substantial kit changes, aimed at pulling her out of the lower tiers. The core idea is a new debuff called Chaos Mark, which she can spread and then punish.

  • Scarlet Hex (new ability): releases a magic shockwave in a 20m long, 8m wide rectangle in front of her, dealing 40 damage and applying a Chaos Mark.
  • New passive: dealing damage to enemies carrying a Chaos Mark converts 25% of that damage into Bonus Health for her, capped at 50. Her primary attack also locks onto every enemy bearing a Chaos Mark, letting her hit multiple targets at once.
  • Chaos Control: damage adjusted from 85/s to 75/s, now dealing identical damage to all marked enemies in a 20m, 120° cone.
  • Chthonian Burst: cast interval reduced from 0.5s to 0.4s, raising damage from 160 to 200 DPS.
  • Dark Seal: now stuns only on the initial detonation for 0.3s, then deals 20/s and applies a 30% slow while the field is active, and continuously applies Chaos Marks to enemies inside it.
  • Reality Erasure (ultimate): during the wind-up it now deals continuous damage in a 15m radius, scaling from 50 to 80 over 4s, with a small chance to be immune to incoming damage during that time.

Mystic Projection’s movement speed boost drops from 50% to 35%, and the Jubilee Team-Up healing during Mystic Projection is reduced from 42/s to 30/s as trade-offs for the added power.

Season 10 balance changes across the roster

Every role sees adjustments. Some Vanguards lose survivability, Duelists are trimmed after dominating the Season 9 meta, and Strategists take a role-wide cut to how fast they build ultimate energy. All Strategists now convert healing to energy at 65% instead of 70%, and damage to energy at 50% instead of 55%.

DuelistStar-Lord, Namor, Iron Fist, Wolverine, Psylocke, Deadpool, Blade, Spider-Man, Mister FantasticElsa Bloodstone, Black Widow, Magik, Winter Soldier
StrategistJeff the Land Shark, Loki, White FoxCloak & Dagger, Mantis, all Strategists (ultimate energy)

Black Cat sits between the two columns. Her invincibility during Phantom Pursuit is gone, replaced by 50% damage reduction and Unstoppable while casting. In exchange her Fortune costs drop, Helmet of Hades lasts longer, and a new Black Panther Team-Up effect grants Fortune on hit. Her footstep audio is also made louder so opponents can hear her approach.

Among the sharper Vanguard cuts, Magneto loses base health (650 to 600) and shield value, and his Scarlet Witch Team-Up cooldown climbs from 12s to 18s. The Hood drops from 600 to 550 health with weaker projectile damage reduction, while The Thing falls from 750 to 725 health with reduced Stone Haymaker scaling.

God Quarry map and seasonal events

A new Domination map, God Quarry, launches on September 24, 2026. Described as a graveyard of gods, it ties directly into the season’s story, in which Gorr aims to bring a faith-harvesting engine there to kill every god at once.

The Tetrameron is the season’s main story event, centered on Loki, where you complete tasks for rewards. A Jeff’s Dream Eater event follows the September 17 update with new matching costumes, and Galacta’s Gift returns on September 24 so you can earn a Costume Coin toward a free skin. Pajama Party skins arrive for several heroes, including Cloak & Dagger, Jeff the Land Shark, Magneto, Luna Snow, Mantis, Rogue, and Daredevil.

The Endgame Encore event is extended from September 11 to October 9, 2026, keeping the 20% Encore Coupon discount on MCU-themed Costume Bundles active.

Battle pass, store bundles, and returning rewards

The Season 10 battle pass, The Godbomb, includes 10 new costume sets. Its major skins are White Fox – Cosmic Kumiho, Captain America – Astral Aegis, and Loki – The Chronicler, alongside a free skin to earn along the track.

The Season 4 battle pass, Fruit of Immortality, reruns for a limited time from September 11 to September 24, 2026, and can be bought through the Reality Link Point interface in the Battle Pass menu. Gorr the God Butcher – Gods’ Graveyard is the Season 10 Ranked reward. New store bundles include Gorr’s Divine Destroyer and Blue Requiem, Emma Frost’s Glittering Goddess, and the Cloak & Dagger Dreamy Duo bundle, which runs September 11 to October 9, 2026.

Twitch Drops return with the Squirrel Girl – Will of Galacta costume from September 11 to October 9, 2026. Esports drops for the IGNITE Series Stage 2 begin September 17 and include the Cyclops – Will of Galacta costume, with the final batch going live for the Playoffs on October 15, 2026.

New Competitive ban system

Competitive Mode changes how bans work for players in Gold III and above. Teams now alternate bans that are revealed as they happen, in this order: Team A bans one, Team B bans two, Team A bans two, then Team B bans one. Bans are decided by a voting system, and you cannot double-ban the same hero. Any banned hero is unplayable for both teams for the rest of the match.

Bug fixes and Intel XeSS 3 support

The update adds Intel XeSS 3 Frame Generation. With Frame Gen enabled on Intel GPUs, it can insert up to three AI-generated frames between two rendered frames, and it works with Intel Xe Low Latency (XeLL) to cut input lag.

Several hero and map issues are resolved as well:

  • Cloak & Dagger no longer suffer delayed ability response after switching forms with the Oblivion Shroud Team-Up.
  • Devil Dinosaur can no longer glitch a bitten enemy into the allied spawn room using Savage Predation, and several of his effects are cleaned up to reduce screen clutter.
  • Rocket Raccoon no longer hits positioning errors after passing through Krakoan gates with the Planet X Pals Team-Up.
  • Winter Soldier’s ultimate no longer resets when hitting a feigning-death Thor during the Ragnarok Rebirth Team-Up.
  • Black Cat’s footsteps are audible again, and Emma Frost’s Spirit Breaker sound no longer triggers when the Enhanced Effect is inactive.
  • Peni Parker’s Cyber-Web Snare no longer enters cooldown immediately on cast, and traversal Emote exploits for Ultron, Jeff, and Devil Dinosaur are fixed.
  • Collisions on K’un-Lun: Heart of Heaven are adjusted to match the models.

With a single new hero, a rebuilt Scarlet Witch, and a balance pass touching most of the cast, Season 10 reshapes both casual and Competitive play the moment maintenance ends on September 11.
