The Obsidian Vault Beacon sits inside the Unfound Path, the final dungeon in Mortal Shell 2. Reaching it means starting from the Brothers Court beacon and pushing through a red-lit cavern and stone crypt, crossing giant organic roots, and clearing the enemies that guard the way. Revitalizing the beacon revives a new shell, Genessa the Wayward.
Quick answer: Enter the Unfound Path from Marrow Keep, travel to the Brothers Court beacon, then run forward through the red cavern and stone dungeon, cross the root bridge and climb the root wall, defeat the skeletal enemy in the drop-down arena, and revitalize the Obsidian Vault Beacon at the end to unlock Genessa the Wayward.

What you need before the Obsidian Vault
The Unfound Path opens only after you have collected enough Ova from the six Corrupted Gates. That threshold is 168 Ovum. Once you have it, approach the NPC in the room with the Gloom Siphon at Marrow Keep to open the path to the final area.
Inside the Unfound Path, a large central platform stays sealed until you clear the three surrounding segments. Each segment has tendrils blocking progress, and each is guarded by a boss. The Obsidian Vault is one of those three segments, and The Monolith is the boss tied to it. The Brothers Court beacon is your staging point for the run into the vault.
Note: Beacons here restore Health and Resolve, refill flask charges, and respawn nearby enemies when you rest, so use Brothers Court as your reset point if the run goes wrong.

The Monolith boss in the Obsidian Vault
The Monolith is the major boss attached to the Obsidian Vault segment of the Unfound Path. It is a huge stone block with very high health, so expect a long fight. Its pattern shifts once you take away half of its health bar.
| Detail | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Opening phase | Jumps into the air and slams down to crush you; keep moving to stay out from under it. |
| Below 50% health | Fires beams and spins while they are active; dodge at the right moment and run around it to avoid the pulsing beams. |
| Shell summon | None available for this fight. |
| Reward | Monolith Fragment, which can be traded for 5,000 coins. |
Confirming the beacon and unlocking Genessa the Wayward
You know the beacon worked when the on-screen prompt reads Beacon Found and names the Obsidian Vault. Choosing Revitalize Beacon also triggers a Shell Revived message that names Genessa the Wayward, confirming the new shell is now available to you.
After that point, the Obsidian Vault beacon works like any other. You can rest at it to refill Health and Resolve, and it serves as a fast travel and respawn point for future trips into the Unfound Path.

A note on Night Mode
Night Mode is the game’s harder difficulty toggle, unlocked in Fainweald after you deal with the Great Arbiter of Flesh. Running the Obsidian Vault with Night Mode active raises enemy pressure across the segment, so make sure your shell perks, weapon upgrades, and Tarstones are in good shape before you commit. The beacon location and the revitalize step stay the same regardless of the difficulty you play on.
