Watchtowers are the fastest way to pull back the fog on Palworld’s enormous 1.0 map. There are 22 of them, and reaching each one clears the surrounding terrain while adding a new fast-travel point. Nineteen sit within the main Palpagos region, two belong to the World Tree area, and one stands in Sunreach.
Quick answer: Travel to each coordinate below, climb or fly to the top of the structure, and interact with the altar at its platform. The map area around it clears immediately, and the tower becomes a fast-travel node. Do this for all 22 to reveal the entire map.

What a watchtower does when you activate it
Activating a watchtower reveals the section of the world map surrounding it, so nearby terrain, routes, and points of interest stop being hidden. Each tower also becomes a fast-travel destination, letting you jump straight to that spot instead of crossing the map on foot.
Because towers uncover the map in overlapping patches, unlocking all 22 removes the fog across the entire world. Many towers sit on mountain peaks, tall rock pillars, cliffs, and isolated islands, so a flying mount makes the climbs far quicker than scaling them by hand.

World Tree and Sunreach watchtower coordinates
The remaining three towers live in the World Tree and Sunreach areas, which use their own separate coordinate frames. Their numbers are much larger than Palpagos values, so don’t try to compare them directly with the small pairs above.
| Watchtower | Region | Coordinates | Where to look |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sunreach Watchtower | Sunreach | -809414, 23955 | Southeastern Sky Islands |
| Dusty Ravine Watchtower | World Tree | 564135, -574054 | Rock pillar in the northeast World Tree area |
| Gilded City Ruins Watchtower | World Tree | 508241, -696869 | Hill in the southwest World Tree area |
Note: Reaching Sunreach requires beating the Feybreak Tower boss first, which unlocks that area of the world.
How to activate a watchtower

Tip: Plan routes that string nearby towers together. Because activating one reveals the land around it, a single loop often exposes the path to the next tower and saves you from wandering blind.
Watchtowers are not Syndicate boss towers
Watchtowers and Syndicate tower bosses share the word “tower” but do completely different things. Watchtowers reveal the map and act as fast-travel points. Syndicate boss towers are combat arenas where you fight an elite trainer and their Pal for rewards such as Technology Points and EXP, and they do not uncover the surrounding map.
If a tower name references a faction, like the Tower of Rayne Syndicate, that is a boss encounter, not one of the 22 map towers. Keep the two separate when you plan your unlock route so a boss objective doesn’t get mistaken for a missing watchtower.
