Palworld 1.0: Depresso Espresso Build for Max Handiwork Party Speed

Stack four work-speed passives, Caffeine Inoculation, and a Strange Juice to push a single Depresso past 27,000 work speed.

Stack four work-speed passives, Caffeine Inoculation, and a Strange Juice to push a single Depresso past 27,000 work speed.

Depresso looks like the last Pal you would put on a crafting bench. Its base Handiwork is only Level 1, and its stats sit near the bottom of the roster. What makes it worth building is its partner skill, Caffeine Inoculation, which turns a temporary buff into the single largest work-speed spike a party Pal can produce in Palworld 1.0.

Quick answer: Give Depresso the four passives Demon’s Hand, Remarkable Craftsmanship, Artisan, and Work Slave. Summon it, feed a Mozzarina Hamburger, activate Caffeine Inoculation at Lv. 5, then drink a Strange Juice. Work speed spikes to 27,057, enough to clear a Gold Coin Assembly Line queue in seconds.

Why Caffeine Inoculation carries the build

Caffeine Inoculation is a manual party skill. When you trigger it, Depresso downs an energy drink and gains a flat percentage boost to both Movement Speed and Work Speed for a short window. The value scales with the skill level, and at maximum rank it is far higher than any passive stack alone.

Skill levelWork Speed bonusMovement Speed
Lv. 1+100%
Lv. 2+200%
Lv. 3+400%
Lv. 4+600%
Lv. 5+900%

Because the buff is temporary and applies to a Pal in your active party, Depresso is not a set-and-forget base worker. You bring it out, activate the skill, and let it burn through a heavy crafting queue during the boosted window. To raise the skill toward Lv. 5, feed Starfruits, which permanently increase a Pal’s partner skill level.

The work-speed passive setup

The four passives below add 245% Work Speed before any food or partner-skill bonus is layered on. This is the strongest raw combination in the game. Two of the passives carry drawbacks, so this loadout belongs on a dedicated worker rather than a combat Pal.

PassiveEffectTrade-off
Demon’s HandWork Speed +90%SAN drops 15% faster
Remarkable CraftsmanshipWork Speed +75%None
ArtisanWork Speed +50%None
Work SlaveWork Speed +30%Attack -30%

Note: Demon’s Hand speeds up sanity loss, and Work Slave cuts attack power. Neither matters for a party Pal you only summon to craft, so both are worth keeping here for the maximum multiplier.

How to stack the buffs for 27,057 work speed

Summon your work-speed Depresso next to the workbench or assembly line you want to clear. With the four passives applied, a Level 57 Depresso starts at roughly 1,071 work speed.
Feed it a Mozzarina Hamburger. The food adds +50% Work Speed and slows sanity depletion, pushing the number to about 1,607.

Activate Caffeine Inoculation at Lv. 5 for the +900% boost. Work speed jumps to around 5,798 for the duration of the buff.
Drink a Strange Juice while the skill is active. This is the final multiplier, and it spikes work speed to 27,057. At that value, gold coins and other high-cost items are produced almost instantly.

You will know it worked when the crafting bar on the assigned station drains in a single visible burst rather than tick by tick. Once the buff timer ends, work speed returns to its baseline and the skill enters cooldown.

Cycle multiple Depressos with Lapure

The catch with Caffeine Inoculation is the cooldown. One Depresso can only maintain the spike for its buff window, then it has to wait. The workaround is Lapure and its partner skill, Long-Sleeved Hurray.

Keeping a Lapure with Long-Sleeved Hurray at Lv. 5 in your party cuts partner-skill cooldowns for every other party Pal by 50%. The effect does not stack, so a single Lapure is enough. Fill the rest of your party slots with additional work-speed Depressos, and you can rotate through them, activating one after another to keep near-continuous high-speed crafting going.

The transport variant

The same Pal doubles as a hauler if you swap the passive set. Because Caffeine Inoculation also boosts Movement Speed by up to 7×, a movement-focused Depresso carries items across a ranching or resource base extremely fast once the skill is active. Max its Transporting to Level 10 and run these four passives.

Dimensional LeapMovement Speed +50% (Hunger drains +15% faster)
SwiftMovement Speed +30%
LegendMovement Speed +20% (also Attack and Defense +20%)

How to get Depresso

Depresso is a common Dark-element Pal, so building a full party of them is realistic. There are three reliable ways to get one.

  • Catch it in the wild. Its densest mapped spawns are in the Sea Breeze Archipelago, and it appears mainly at night.
  • Breed it. Blue Slime plus Tanzee is one of 20 viable parent pairs that produce Depresso.
  • Hatch a Dark Egg, or fight the Alpha Depresso found in the Hillside Cavern and Isolated Island Cavern dungeons around Level 13.

To rank up the partner skill and its stats, build a Pal Essence Condenser. Full condensation needs 48 duplicates of the same species, and each rank-up raises an existing work suitability. Since you will want several Depressos anyway for the Lapure rotation, extra catches feed straight into condensing.

For a permanent, low-maintenance base worker, a naturally high-Handiwork Pal such as Solenne is still the steadier pick. But when a single crafting queue is blocking your next upgrade and you want it gone right now, nothing else in the party matches the burst a fully buffed Depresso delivers.
