The Mimog Effigy is one of the collectible items reworked into Palworld 1.0, and it stands apart from the others. Most effigies sit on plinths across the map waiting for you to walk up and grab them. The Mimog Effigy is earned instead, and the only way to get it is by catching Pals.
Quick answer: Capture five of the same Pal species. The moment the fifth catch registers, one Mimog Effigy drops into your Key Items, and you spend it at a Statue of Power to raise your movement speed.
The trigger: catch five of the same Pal
Every Pal species has a Catch Bonus that completes at five captures. Reaching that fifth catch does two things at once. It hands you a big EXP reward, and it awards a single Mimog Effigy. This is the only source of the item, so there is no plinth to find and no crafting recipe to unlock.
One effigy per species, and no more
The Catch Bonus ends at five. Once you have collected the Mimog Effigy for a species, catching a sixth, seventh, or hundredth of that same Pal gives you nothing extra. To earn another effigy, you have to move on to a different species and complete its five-catch bonus.
That makes the Mimog Effigy a finite resource, capped at one per Pal type. With more than 200 Pals in the game, though, there is still a very large pool of effigies to collect if you want to keep raising your speed.
Using the Mimog Effigy at a Statue of Power
Holding effigies does nothing on its own. You redeem them at a Statue of Power, the same structure used for other effigy upgrades. You can find one out in the world, often inside the rundown churches scattered across the map, including the Desolate Church. You can also build your own at base, which unlocks at base Level 9.

Farming effigies fast in the early game
A single 0.5% bump is tiny, but the bonus stacks. The fastest way to feel the difference early is to sweep through low-level zones and grab five of every common Pal you pass. That front-loads a lot of speed for the rest of your run.
A useful trick is to return to starter areas later with upgraded Pal Spheres and better gear. Weak early Pals are trivial to catch at that point, especially with something like the Ring of Mercy, which leaves targets at 1 HP. You clean up any species you skipped and pile up effigies quickly.
Note: The speed gain plateaus. As you exhaust the easy species and it becomes harder to find five of the rarer Pals, most players naturally stop chasing effigies because they already feel fast enough. Push it too far and movement can start to feel slippery.
What to know before you hoard them
Mimog Effigies weigh nothing, so there is no penalty to carrying them around. They also cannot be sold, so any you do not redeem simply sit in your Key Items until you decide to spend them. There is no downside to banking a stack and cashing them in whenever you want another speed increase.
One more upside to catching five of a species: it lets you feed duplicates into the Pal Essence Condenser to raise that Pal’s rank, improving its stats and skills. Chasing effigies and building up your best party Pals end up feeding the same loop.
