Palworld 1.0: How to Unlock the World Tree and Farm Its Endgame Loot

Catch Panthalus, clear the barrier, and gather Holy Water, Paloxite, and Radiant Gems inside Palworld's level 80 endgame map.

Catch Panthalus, clear the barrier, and gather Holy Water, Paloxite, and Radiant Gems inside Palworld’s level 80 endgame map.

The giant tree in the far northwest of Palworld stopped being scenery when version 1.0 landed on July 10th, 2026. It is now a full endgame region with its own map, its own resource rules, and a level 80 tower boss at the end of it. You cannot walk, sail, or fly your way in. A barrier blocks the approach until you finish a specific quest chain.

Quick answer: Beat every Tower Boss in Palpagos, Feybreak, and Sunreach, then talk to the NPC on the Deserted Islet at roughly (-814, -824) to start the Panthalus quest. Collect four Echobones, craft the Echoing Flute, catch Panthalus, and interact with the Terminal in front of the barrier to open the World Tree.

World Tree unlock requirements

Everything below is a hard gate. Missing any one of them means the quest will not appear or the Terminal will stay locked.

How to open the World Tree barrier

Fly to the Deserted Islet near coordinates (-814, -824) and speak to the NPC standing on it. That conversation hands you the Panthalus main quest and the schematic for the Echoing Flute.
Track the quest so its four objective markers appear on your map. Each marker sits on the skeleton of an ancient whale, scattered across opposite ends of the world.

Pick up one Echobone at each of the four whale skeleton sites. All four are needed, and there is no substitute item.
Return to any base and use a Workbench to combine the four Echobones into the Echoing Flute.
Go back to the Deserted Islet NPC with the flute finished. Speaking to them makes the large shrine tablet nearby interactable, and touching it teleports you into the Panthalus fight.
Beat Panthalus and throw a sphere at it. Its main attack is a series of waves, so jump or hover on a flying mount to avoid them while chipping away at its very large health pool. The catch matters, not the kill.
Report back to the NPC with Panthalus in your party. The quest closes and a new one, To the World Tree, replaces it.
Travel to the World Tree and interact with the locked Terminal sitting in front of the energy barrier. The barrier vanishes on activation, which is your confirmation that the region is open. If the Terminal refuses to respond, you are missing a Tower Boss or you have not caught Panthalus.

Getting around inside the World Tree

The World Tree is a separate map rather than a slice of the main island, and you cannot fast travel back to your base through the map screen once you are inside. Plan supply runs accordingly. The area compresses several biomes into a small footprint, so you swing from ice to lava to a toxic zone that drains health unless you wear the Corrosive Mist Mask helmet.

Three Teafant Springs act as free healing points. Interact with the small stone fountain and your character plus your active party Pal are restored, and the springs also let you harvest World Tree materials.

For travel, one quirk is worth exploiting: water-type mounts do not burn stamina while swimming at all. Solmora Lux and the Blue Slime can cross open water indefinitely, while non-water riders such as Yakumo or the Rainbow Slime drain their bar and eventually stall out. On land and in the air, the three movement passives to breed onto a mount are Swift (+30%), Legend (+20%), and Runner (+20%).

Why World Tree resources vanish, and how to fix it

Mine an ore node or chop a tree inside the World Tree and the drops will disappear as you walk toward them. That is intended behavior, not a bug. The region’s materials only stay put if you have the right buff active.

The first option is World Tree Holy Water, a consumable dropped by the Pals living in the region. Use it on your character and your active Pal, and for a short window you can pick items up normally. It works, but it burns through your stock fast.

The permanent fix is a Pal with the Dimensional Leap passive. It removes the vanishing behavior entirely and adds movement speed, at the cost of eating faster.

  • Movement Speed +50%
  • Hunger depletion rate +15%
  • World Tree resources no longer vanish when approached

Two reliable ways to get one: hatch the Large Ominous Eggs scattered around the World Tree biomes, or hunt Wild Awakened Pals, which are marked by a glowing blue aura and always carry at least one World Tree passive. They are also stronger than their normal counterparts, so bring gear.

The materials worth collecting once you can actually pick them up are Paloxite, Mythical Wood, Radiant Gems, Ancient Relics, and more Holy Water. Ancient Relics feed the Ancient Relic Recycler back at base, and the Grand Master Fishing Spot in the region can also drop Ancient Relics and Radiant Gems if you bring dedicated fishing gear and a fishing party.

A repeatable Holy Water and Ancient Relic farming loop

Because Holy Water gates almost every other pickup, most players end up running one short circuit over and over. Teleport to Dusty Ravine, clear the Snock Lux and Roujay on the nearby hill, then take the western path toward Remnant Riverside and kill everything on the way, Orserk especially. When you reach Remnant Riverside, teleport back to Dusty Ravine and repeat. Raising the Pal Appearance Rate in World Settings spawns more targets per lap.

Drop-rate partner Pals stack the returns. Cryolinx boosts drops from Dragon types, Elphidran from Dark types like Roujay, and Menasting plus Menasting Terra from Electric types such as Orserk and Snock Lux. Fast clear speed matters more than raw damage here, which is why the Vortex Beater and Drone Launcher are common picks. Pal Souls accumulate as a side benefit.

The Radiant Gem drop table quirk

If you are farming Radiant Gems for a specific Awakening Crystal, the World Tree’s drop table does not behave the way its Pal types suggest. A number of the region’s Pals hand out Electric Radiant Gems no matter what element they are, including Lyleen Noct and Roujay.

Practically, that means you should not build a farming route around one elemental Pal and expect a matching crystal. Check what a target actually drops over a few kills before committing to a long grind for a specific element.

World Tree bosses and the level 80 finale

The region’s tower boss, Zenara & Astralym, sits at level 80 inside the tall tower in the western corner of the map. It is locked until you clear three level 78 fights first.

  • Dandilord, a Grass and Dark type in the reddish area at the north end of the map. Fire and Dragon damage work best.
  • Silvance, a Grass type in the south, which is mostly a dodging test.
  • A boss rush in the forbidden laboratory that recycles every earlier tower boss with reduced health but higher damage.

Zenara & Astralym has no type weakness, so nothing you bring will multiply your damage. Be level 80, use your best available technology, and stay on a flying mount to keep dodging. Interrupt the big charged attack every time it winds up, because eating one is usually fatal. Astralym itself cannot be caught anywhere in the game; it only exists as part of that tower encounter.

Outside the tower, the World Tree also holds a set of alpha bosses if you want more Paldeck entries.

Forbidden Area expeditions and a floating station trick

The Pal Expedition Station is the passive counterpart to all that manual farming. Send a team on the World Tree’s Forbidden Area expedition and the results wait at the station when the timer ends, with an on-screen prompt to open the completed run.

The station has a large footprint, which is a problem in a packed base. You can suspend it in the air instead of giving up floor space.

Build a tall wooden pillar wherever you want the station to hang.
Place a wooden roof tile at the top of that pillar.
Put an Advanced Chest on the roof tile to act as the temporary platform.
Switch to axis alignment mode and place the Pal Expedition Station on top of the chest.
Disassemble the chest first, then remove the supporting pillar. The station stays where it is, floating, and the space underneath is yours again. If it disappears with the supports, you removed the pillar before the chest.

The World Tree is the last thing Palworld asks you to do, and it is built to be run repeatedly rather than cleared once. Get a Dimensional Leap Pal early, keep a stocked healing route between the three Teafant Springs, and the difference between a miserable grind and a fast one comes down almost entirely to how you handle the Holy Water problem.
