The Grandmaster fishing spots scattered around the World Tree island are the fastest way to stockpile legendary weapon and armor schematics without grinding hard-mode bosses. A single circuit rewards Coralum Ore, Radiant Gems, Applied work handbooks, Ancient Relics, and schematics for gear like the Beam Scatter, Plasma Rifle, Beam Launcher, and Drone Launcher.
Quick answer: Carry the Legendary Advanced Fishing Rod (Depresso) and Alluring Bait, keep Jelliette, Gloopie, Whalaska, and Whalaska Ignis in your party, then fish every Grandmaster spot in a loop around the World Tree island. One full lap runs 30 to 40 minutes, and spots respawn about 30 minutes after you clear them, so you can start the loop over as you finish it.

Gear you need before the loop
The World Tree spots move erratically and are close to impossible to land with a basic rod. Two items make the minigame manageable and raise the number of items each catch drops.
| Item | Why it matters | Unlock |
|---|---|---|
| Advanced Fishing Rod (Depresso), Legendary | Longest capture bar and best durability of any rod, which is what lets you hold the erratic targets | Advanced Fishing Rod unlocks at Technology level 45; the Legendary Depresso version drops from Syndicate sea base chests and ocean salvage |
| Alluring Bait, Epic | Extends the capture bar and increases the items you receive on a successful catch | Technology level 52 |
Stockpile Alluring Bait before you head out. Running dry mid-session wastes the limited window before a spot respawns.

Add to Google Preferences →The fishing Pal party that stacks the odds
These Pals only need to sit in your active party, not be summoned, for their partner skills to apply. Condensing each Pal to its maximum raises the bonus, so the fully condensed values below are the target.
| Pal | Partner skill effect | Bonus (base → condensed) |
|---|---|---|
| Jelliette | Increases items received from fishing, enabling double schematic drops | 55% → 95% |
| Gloopie | Slows how fast the capture gauge drains during the minigame | 12% → 35% |
| Whalaska | Starts the minigame with a higher base capture gauge and adds capture progress | 5% → 15% |
| Whalaska Ignis | Same effect as Whalaska, stacking on top of it | 7% → 17% |
| Solmora / Solmora Lux (optional) | Improves the chance of fishing up a Pal with better passives | Same for both forms |
Note: Gloopie Primo does not carry the same gauge-slowing benefit, so use a standard Gloopie. Whalaska and Whalaska Ignis stack, and the four required Pals leave one party slot open for the mount you want to ride between spots.

Running the World Tree circuit

Legendary schematics from World Tree fishing
Four legendary weapon lines and the Ancient Armor variants all appear in the World Tree fishing pool. These same schematics otherwise come from relic recycling or hard-mode tower bosses at a 10% rate, which makes the fishing loop a reliable alternative.
| Schematic line | Also sourced from |
|---|---|
| Beam Scatter (1–4) | Zoe & Grizzbolt Hard, relic recycling |
| Plasma Rifle (1–4) | Saya & Selyne, relic recycling |
| Beam Launcher (1–4) | Auri & Shaolong Hard, relic recycling |
| Drone Launcher (1–4) | Lily & Lyleen Hard, relic recycling |
| Cold-Resistant, Heat-Resistant & Lightweight Ancient Armor (1–4) | World Tree relics |
The tier 4 (Legendary) rolls are the rarest at roughly 0.363% per weapon line and 0.841% for the resist Ancient Armor tiers, so most laps yield lower tiers you can push up at the Drafting Table, unlocked at level 45. With Jelliette’s item bonus active, individual spots can drop schematics in pairs.

Everything else the spots dro
Schematics share the pool with high-volume materials and consumables. Coralum Ore drops on every successful catch, and the technical manuals and relics make the loop double as an awakening-material and relic-recycling run.
| Reward | Quantity | Drop rate |
|---|---|---|
| Coralum Ore | 12–25 | 100% |
| Futuristic Technical Manual | 1–2 | 34.004% |
| Ancient Technical Manual | 1–3 | 29.718% |
| Decayed Ancient Relic | 1–3 | 26.288% |
| Dormant Ancient Relic | 1–3 | 13.144% |
| Radiant Gems (each element, incl. Water & Neutral) | 1–3 | 5.944% each |
| Gorgeous Ancient Relic | 1–3 | 2.476% |
| Applied work handbooks (Cooling, Ranching, Mining, etc.) | 1 | 1.09% each |
The Applied handbooks each raise a Pal’s work suitability by one level. Because every work type has its own book in the pool, long fishing sessions steadily top up whichever base jobs you want to upgrade.
How to confirm the loop is working
A cleared spot visibly stops producing catches once its table is exhausted, then becomes fishable again roughly 30 minutes later. If a spot still looks empty when you return, you have lapped the island faster than the respawn timer, so slow the pace or add spots to the route.
If catches keep slipping away, the usual cause is a missing party bonus rather than bad luck. Check that Jelliette, Gloopie, and both Whalaska forms are in the active party, that the Depresso rod is equipped, and that Alluring Bait is selected. With all four Pals condensed and the correct gear on, the Grandmaster minigame becomes consistent enough to farm for as long as your bait supply lasts.
