Radiant Gems are the fuel for Awakening, the endgame upgrade added in Palworld 1.0. They exist in nine elemental types, and each one of them drops only inside the World Tree. The gem’s element always matches the element of the Pal you defeat or catch, so a Fire Pal drops a Fire Radiant Gem and never anything else.
Quick answer: Pick the element you need, travel to the World Tree zone that spawns that element’s Pals, and clear them with a party carrying the matching drop-boosting Pals. Recycle any Ancient Relics you pick up for extra gems, and run passive expeditions to the World Tree Subterranean City Ruins for the best hands-off yield.

What Radiant Gems are used for
A Radiant Gem does nothing on its own in combat. It is purely a crafting input. You combine 50 gems of a single element with 10 World Tree Holy Water at the Ancient Workbench to make an element-matched Awakening Crystal, and that crystal permanently boosts a Pal of the same element. Because the recipe eats 50 same-element gems, decide which Pal you plan to awaken before you start hunting and farm that one element on purpose.

Large stretches of the World Tree are corrosive mist zones that drain your health for as long as you stand in them. Equip the Corrosive Mist Mask helmet, which unlocks at Level 76 in the Technology tree, so you can farm without bleeding health. For the dragon-gem area specifically, you can either wear the mask or keep a Dandilord in your active party to negate the mist damage. Dandilord can be caught at Rotmist Root (-1679, 1644).
Chain the Teafant Spring statues scattered along your route. Each one restores your health and your active Pal’s health between fights, and Pals at Level 70 and above also feed the Holy Water half of the Awakening recipe. Carrying Holy Water while you sweep stops Paloxite and Mythical Wood nodes from vanishing on approach, so a single gem loop can bank mining materials at the same time.

Build a drop-boosting party
Certain Pals carry Partner Skills that increase the number of gems dropped by defeated enemies of a matching element. Slot the one that fits the gem you are farming, then fill the rest of the party with a high-damage flying mount so you can clear packs in a single pass. Neutral and Dark Pals appear across nearly every zone, so those boosters earn their place in most loadouts.
| Boost target | Party Pals |
|---|---|
| Neutral drops | Katress, Blazehowl Noct |
| Dark drops | Elphidran, Enchanted Sword |
| Ground drops | Vaelet |
| Electric drops | Menasting, Menasting Terra |
| Ice drops | Faleris |
| Pal Soul drops | Nitemary |
The boost scales with star rank. A booster gives roughly 30% at 0 stars and up to 80% at 4 stars, so it is worth condensing them with mass breeding or Starfruits before a long farm. Nitemary is stronger still, running 100% at 0 stars and 200% at 4 stars for Pal Soul drops.

Where each Radiant Gem drops
Fast travel to the statue nearest your target element, then loop the surrounding spawns and fly back and forth to force respawns. Every Pal of your chosen element rolls the same gem, so both regular spawns and Alpha Pals bank progress toward 50.
| Gem | Location (coordinates) | Target Pals |
|---|---|---|
| Neutral | Alluvion Lakefront (-1638, 1340) | Starryon Primol |
| Fire | Whimsical Wisteria Grove (-1579, 1412) | Walaska Ignis, Petallia Ignis, Knocklem Ignis |
| Water | Boreal Summit (-1826, 1583) | Rayhound Cryst, Beakon Cryst |
| Ice | Boreal Summit (-1826, 1583) | Univolt Cryst, Elgrove Cryst, Bastigor |
| Electric | Dusty Ravine (-1561, 1512) | Snock Lux, Orserk |
| Ground | Whimsical Wisteria Grove (-1579, 1412) or Spore Cloister (-1809, 1323) | Wispaw or Mycora |
| Dark | Spore Cloister (-1809, 1323) | Loomen |
| Grass | Spore Cloister (-1809, 1323) | Shroomer (Mycora boss minions) |
| Dragon | Corrosive Hollow (-1650, 1578) | Eidolon Ignis |
Farming Grass Radiant Gems without killing the boss
Grass gems only come from the Shroomer minions that spawn around the Mycora boss at the end of the Spore Cloister path. The catch is that Alpha bosses do not respawn once defeated, so killing the Mycora ends the minion spawns for a full in-game day.
Note: If you accidentally kill the Mycora boss, you must wait one in-game day before it and its minions return.

Aura Pals drop far more gems
Some wild Pals glow with a distinct white-blue aura. These Aura Pals drop significantly more Radiant Gems and Ancient Relics than a normal spawn, and a Level 80 Aura Pal drops even larger stacks. A single Level 80 Elgrove, for example, can hand over 18 Grass Radiant Gems plus multiple relics in one kill. If you spot one on your route, prioritize it, and consider capturing it since Aura Pals can also carry the new World Tree passives.
Recycle Ancient Relics for bonus gems
World Tree Pals also drop Ancient Relics, and the Ancient Relic Recycler converts them into a mix of Radiant Gems. The device unlocks at Technology Level 74 for 3 Technology Points, and it needs its own power supply and an assigned Pal to run.
It accepts Decayed, Dormant, Glowing, and Glistening Ancient Relics, and the output is a random spread of elemental gems rather than a single type. That makes it a useful side supply while you farm a specific element, since the relics pile up on their own during combat runs. The recycler also returns other endgame materials such as Paloxite, Mythical Wood, and Ancient Civilization Cores.

Passive farming through Pal Expeditions
Two expeditions generate Radiant Gems while you are away from the region entirely. Send Pals from the Expedition Station and collect the returns between manual trips. The Subterranean City Ruins is the better everyday choice because it pays out faster per hour and demands far fewer maxed Pals to unlock.
| Expedition | Avg per run | Rate | Maxed Pals |
|---|---|---|---|
| World Tree Subterranean City Ruins | 113 gems (mixed) | ~150/hour | ~40 |
| The World Tree’s Forbidden Area | 159 gems (mixed) | ~120/hour | ~95 |
The Forbidden Area returns more gems per run, but it takes longer and requires roughly 95 maxed Pals, so its effective rate is lower and its entry bar is much higher. Both expeditions return a mixed spread of elements, which makes them supplemental income rather than a way to complete a single 50-gem stack. Keep a manual route in rotation for the element you actually need, and let expeditions and the recycler top up everything else in the background.
