Palworld 1.0: Where to Find and Catch All Six Legendary Pals

Every legendary Alpha Boss location, its element, spawn level, and the counters and spheres you need to catch it.

Every legendary Alpha Boss location, its element, spawn level, and the counters and spheres you need to catch it.

Legendary Pals are the strongest catches in Palworld 1.0, and every one of them is a high-level Alpha Boss guarded by its own arena. There are six of them across the Palpagos Islands, and each demands the right elemental counter, resistance gear, and a stack of high-tier spheres before it will go down and stay caught.

Quick answer: Track down Jetragon, Frostallion, Frostallion Noct, Paladius, Necromus, and Neptilius as overworld Alpha Bosses, bring a team that exploits each one’s weakness, and throw Legendary or Ancient Spheres once its health is critical. The capture rate on legendaries is extremely low, so expect to spend several spheres per Pal.

All six Legendary Pals in Palworld 1.0

The 1.0 update moved several legendaries, so a few no longer sit where they used to. Here is where each one spawns, its element, its boss level, and the element you want on your team.

Jetragon on the Sunreach sky islands

Jetragon is the Legendary Celestial Dragon and the fastest flying mount in the game, which is why it sits at the top of most wish lists. In 1.0 it relocated to Sunreach, the sky island region in the northwest, so you reach it much later than before.

Defeat Bjorn and Bastigor at Feybreak Tower. Clearing the tower boss makes the altar on the southwestern side of the structure active.
Use that altar to travel up to Sunreach. The area is a spread of floating islands, so take a flying mount to move between them without falling.
Fight Jetragon with a full Ice team. It is a pure Dragon type, so Ice damage hits hardest. Frostallion is the standout pick, with Sibelyx, Mammorest Cryst, Foxcicle, and Reindrix as strong alternatives. Ragnahawk’s burn also chips away at its huge health pool.
Jetragon also uses fire moves, so equip Heat-Resistant Hexolite Armor or Epic-tier or better Heat-Resistant Plasteel Armor. Bring a Rocket Launcher or another ranged weapon you trust, and avoid shotguns because their range is too short here.
Once you can reach Sunreach you will also have Ancient Spheres. Use those for the capture, since Jetragon’s catch rate is punishingly low and lesser spheres waste attempts.

Tip: If you want Jetragon while badly under-leveled, the trick is mobility rather than combat power. A Nitewing to fly over water, a surf-capable Pal such as Chillet, and a Direhowl for land travel let you race to the arena and let your Ice Pals soak the boss while you poke at it and throw spheres. The route passes through freezing zones that chip your health, so cold-resistant gear and a grappling hook make the trip far safer.

Frostallion and Frostallion Noct

Frostallion is the Legendary Steed of Ice, a Pegasus-like Pal that stayed in its familiar home on the peak of the Land of Absolute Zero, west of the Astral Mountains. Because it is Ice type, bring Fire Pals such as Blazamut, Suzaku, Jormuntide Ignis, or Wixen. Fire attackers keep you warm in the freezing arena while dealing heavy super-effective damage. Equip Cold-Resistant Pal Metal Armor and a matching helmet so the cold does not drain you mid-fight.

Frostallion Noct is the Dark-type version, a cross between Frostallion and Helzephyr. You can catch it as an Alpha Boss on the wildlife sanctuary in the northeastern corner of the map, across the Deep Sand Dunes. Bring Dragon Pals like Jetragon, Chillet, or Relaxaurus to take it down. The simpler route, once you own a Frostallion, is to breed it with a Helzephyr, hatch the resulting Huge Dark Egg, and wait for Frostallion Noct to appear.

Paladius and Necromus in the twin boss arena

Paladius, the Holy Knight of Legend, is a Neutral-type centaur clad in light blue armor. Necromus, the Dark Knight of Legend, is its Dark-type twin wielding a lance in each hand. Both spawn together on the northern edge of the Deep Sand Dunes, and fighting both legendaries at once is the hardest part of the encounter.

The key is to split them up. Paladius falls asleep at night, which lets you fight Necromus alone. Take Necromus down first, then wake and engage Paladius on its own. Bring Dark Pals such as Frostallion Noct or Shadowbeak for Paladius, and Dragon damage for Necromus. Jetragon’s Aerial Missile lets you bombard the arena from a safe distance if you already have one.

Their resistances shift with the time of day, so wear Cold-Resistant Pal Metal Armor at night and Heat-Resistant Pal Metal Armor during the day. The Assault Rifle is a reliable weapon for both because of its fire rate and steady damage.

Neptilius on the Isle of the Glacial Core

Neptilius, the Legend of the Great Seas, is a tanky Water-type Pal and one of the best swimming mounts in the game. It spawns on the Isle of the Glacial Core, a small isle just west of the Deep Sand Dunes.

Because it is a pure Water type, a full Electric team melts it. Orserk is the best overall counter thanks to its heavy lightning damage, with Grizzbolt, Relaxaurus Lux, Asherine, and Helzephyr Lux as strong picks. Water bosses in cold areas occasionally throw Ice moves, so Cold-Resistant Pal Metal Armor keeps you alive. The Assault Rifle works well, with any shotgun as a backup.

Spheres, armor, and weapons to bring

Every legendary is designed for the late game, and the level cap now sits at 80. You do not have to be maxed out, but you do need the right kit before you commit to a fight.

  • Legendary Spheres at a minimum. Use Ultimate or Ancient Spheres where you have them, especially for Jetragon.
  • Resistance armor that matches the arena. Cold-Resistant Pal Metal Armor for Frostallion and Neptilius, Heat-Resistant armor for Jetragon, and armor that matches the time of day for Paladius and Necromus.
  • A ranged weapon such as the Assault Rifle or Rocket Launcher. Skip shotguns against Jetragon.
  • A party built around the target’s weakness so your Pals do the heavy lifting while you focus on positioning and throwing spheres.

How to tell a capture worked

You know a legendary is caught when the sphere stops shaking, confirms the catch, and the Pal is added to your party or Palbox. Until then the boss stays on the field.

The most common reason a capture fails is the catch rate itself. Legendaries have an extremely low base capture chance, so even at critical health you should expect the sphere to break several times before it holds. Two things move the odds in your favor. Whittle the boss down to the lowest sliver of health you can before throwing, and use the highest-tier sphere you have access to. If you are burning through cheap spheres, you are wasting attempts rather than failing the fight.

Once you land the first legendary, the rest snowball. Frostallion turns Jetragon into a manageable fight, Jetragon flattens Frostallion Noct and Necromus, and a captured Frostallion plus a Helzephyr breeds you a Frostallion Noct without ever setting foot in its sanctuary.
