Palworld: Best Grand Master Fishing Spots and Legendary Loot

Where the highest-tier fishing spots sit, the Pals they yield, and the rare items you can salvage from the southern seas.

Where the highest-tier fishing spots sit, the Pals they yield, and the rare items you can salvage from the southern seas.

The strongest fishing in Palworld sits in the far south of Palpagos Islands, around Feybreak Island, its dungeons, and the offshore oil rig. These are the endgame spots that hand out the rarest aquatic Pals and the biggest salvage hauls, and they scale to level 50–60, so you need top-tier gear before they pay off.

Quick answer: Head to Feybreak Island, its dungeons, and the Rayne Syndicate Platform Oil Rig (level 56–60, the highest-tier fishing arena). Bring your best rod and Alluring bait, then cast at named shadow spots between Feybreak and Mt. Obsidian for Munchill, Polapup, Azurobe Cryst, and Whalaska plus rare loot.

Best Grand Master fishing spots and the Pals they yield

Fishing only works at named anchor spots, not on any random shoreline. There are 355 mapped across 13 regions, and Feybreak alone holds 79 of them, roughly 22% of every spot in the game. The master-tier locations below spawn the highest-level catches and demand the endgame rod.

Master-tier locationLevelNotable Pals
Isle of the Glacial Core50–60Munchill, Polapup, Azurobe Cryst, Whalaska
Frostbound Mtns / Feybreak50–60Munchill, Polapup, Azurobe Cryst, Whalaska

Rayne Syndicate Platform Oil Rig56–60Azurobe Cryst, Whalaska

The oil rig is the single highest-tier arena and sits at level 60. It is also the best place to scan the open sea for salvage, along with the waters stretching between Feybreak and Mt. Obsidian.

Legendary loot you can salvage

At these southern spots, the loot often matters more than the Pals. With the right location and a magnet, salvage runs pull weapon and armor blueprints, crafting materials, and endgame currency. A single high-tier catch can drop dozens of parts at once.

  • Coralium Ore and Coralum Ore
  • Pal Souls, Gems, and Dark Radiant Gem
  • Weapon and armor blueprints, including Heat-Resistant Ancient Armor Schematics
  • Ancient Civilization Parts and Precious Claw
  • Applied Work Books, Practice Primers, and Technical Manuals
  • Pal gear, Spheres, and gold coins

To salvage on the open sea, you must be riding a water Pal, or the option will not appear. The salvage minigame differs from normal fishing. A circle shows a rotating yellow line, and you press F when that line lands inside the green segment. The Super Fishing Magnet, unlocked at level 61, improves your odds of pulling rare items.

Rods and bait for master-tier spots

Fish spawns scale to a region’s tier, so the endgame spots stay out of reach until your rod and bait unlock the higher catches. Each rod tier widens the catch bar in the minigame, which makes landing rare Pals easier. The expert-tier rods are what you want for Feybreak and the oil rig.

RodUnlockBar size
Beginner Fishing Rod (Chillet)Tech level 15Normal
Beginner Fishing Rod (Gumoss)Schematicx1.1
Intermediate Fishing Rod (Cattiva)Tech level 29x1.3
Intermediate Fishing Rod (Croajiro)Schematicx1.4
Expert Fishing Rod (Pengullet)Tech level 45x1.8
Expert Fishing Rod (Depresso)Schematicx1.9

Bait is crafted from Pal Juice or High-Quality Pal Oil plus flour and farmed foods like tomatoes, onions, or carrots. For master spots, Luxury and Alluring bait pull the most weight.

  • Simple bait — no bonus.
  • High-Quality bait — increases the bite rate.
  • Luxury bait — larger bar in the minigame.
  • Alluring bait — even larger bar and more item drops from caught Pals.

Best fishing Pals for the catch bar

Some Pals speed up the cast itself through partner skills, and these are the ones worth bringing to grinding runs on Feybreak and the oil rig.

PalFishing benefit
Whalaska (Ignis)Catch meter starts partly filled and fills faster
Ghangler (Ignis)Pals bite faster while it is active
JellroyMore and better loot from salvage actions
JellietteMore items gained through fishing

Getting between spots is the real time sink on long routes. Surfent’s Swift Swimmer skill lets you ride over water without draining stamina, and Jormuntide fills the same role at higher speed for late-game travel. Penking and Azurobe cover shorter island hops if those dragons aren’t in your party yet.

Read the shadows before you cast

The shadow at the bobber tells you what bit, and the sparkles tell you how special it is. Aim your rod near the shadow you want, select bait, and cast. When the yellow !! appears, click to hook it, then keep clicking so the green bar tracks the fish until the top circle fills and the Pal is caught.

  • No sparkles — normal Pal.
  • Purple sparkles — Alpha Pal.
  • Green sparkles — Pal with rainbow passive skills.
  • Fountain of sparkles — Pal with the Pond Lord passive skill.

Spots do not run dry. They refresh on a short timer, so you can re-cast the same anchor repeatedly. Chasing a specific rare catch is a grind of many casts, since drop rates are RNG-based.

Passive farming with fish ponds

If you would rather collect Pals and loot without casting yourself, build fish ponds at your base. The first pond unlocks at level 31 and the second at level 55. Load each one with bait and assign a Pal with the Handiwork skill to gather passively. Larger shadows yield rarer finds, and the pond loot pool matches what you would pull from casting or salvaging in the wild.

You will know a master run is paying off when the catch text confirms a high-level Whalaska, Whalaska Ignis, or Gloopie variant and the reward screen lists stacks of Ancient Civilization Parts, Coralum Ore, and schematics. Those are the signals that you are fishing the right southern spots with the right gear.
