Palworld: How the High-Pressure Crude Oil Extractor Works Without Oil Nodes

The High-Pressure model builds on any ground for 3000 Energy/s, and one maxed Solmora Lux can run dozens of them.

The High-Pressure Crude Oil Extractor removes the biggest constraint on oil production in Palworld. Where the standard extractor must sit directly on a Crude Oil deposit, the High-Pressure version can be placed on open ground anywhere inside a base, so you no longer need to build a dedicated base on top of an oil field to farm Crude Oil.

Quick answer: Build the High-Pressure Crude Oil Extractor on any flat ground in a base, power it with a Power Generator, and it produces Crude Oil at the same speed as the standard extractor. The only trade-off is higher power draw, 3000 Energy/s instead of 2000 Energy/s.

Standard vs High-Pressure Crude Oil Extractor

Both machines pull Crude Oil at an identical rate, so the only real difference is placement and power. The standard extractor is cheaper to run but locks you to oil-node locations. The High-Pressure model costs more energy per second but frees you to build wherever it is convenient, including bases you already use for mining or smelting.

The standard extractor unlocks at Level 50 for two Technology Points and costs 250 Pal Metal Ingot and 50 Circuit Board. The High-Pressure recipe adds Bio Battery and Ancient Civilization Parts on top of Pal Metal Ingot and Circuit Board, reflecting its late-game position.

How to power a High-Pressure extractor setup

Because each unit draws 3000 Energy/s, the generator you use decides how many extractors you can run from a single electric Pal. The multiplier on the generator matters far more than the extractor itself.

Large Power GeneratorLv 50x3~54
Ancient Power GeneratorLv 75x2073

The Ancient Power Generator is built using Paloxite Ingot, Electric Organ and Ancient Civilization Core, with a workload of 10,000. Its x20 speed multiplier is what makes large extractor farms practical, since a single generator and Pal can keep dozens of machines running.

Solmora Lux and the extractor limits

A fully maxed Solmora Lux is the key to these numbers. With Work Suitability at Generating Electricity Lv. 10 and Watering Lv. 10, one Solmora Lux can sustain up to 73 High-Pressure extractors when paired with an Ancient Power Generator, or about 54 with a Large Power Generator.

If you split the workload across two Pals, output climbs further. A setup using Puffolt for electricity generation and Shaolong for watering and cooling can support over 100 extractors at once. This is the configuration to aim for if you want a single base to cover all your Crude Oil needs.

Note: Caffeine Inoculation Lv. 5 keeps the assigned Pals working without dropping off, which helps a large farm stay at full output.

Boost output with Research Lab upgrades

The Pal Labor Research Lab holds upgrade nodes for both electricity generation and oil extraction speed. Investing in the electricity nodes raises how much power your Pals produce, which directly increases how many extractors a single generator can feed. The mining and extraction nodes lift the rate at which each machine pulls Crude Oil.

Together, these upgrades let you either run more extractors per generator or pull the same amount of oil from fewer machines, whichever suits your base layout.

Why this replaces dedicated oil bases

Crude Oil feeds several important recipes, including Plasteel, Flamethrower Fuel, Frag Grenades Mk2 and Missile Ammo. Previously, keeping those supplied meant maintaining a separate base on Sakurajima or another oil-node location. With the High-Pressure Crude Oil Extractor, you can produce all of that at a central base instead, and scale it up simply by adding more units and enough power to run them.
