Pocketpair dropped Palworld v1.0.4 with little warning, and it is a bigger update than the “balance adjustments and bug fixes” label suggests. Two new sub-missions, a serious fishing rebalance, and a fix for the campfire that kept setting your own Pals on fire all arrived in the same patch.
Quick answer: Update the game to v1.0.4, then travel to Fisherman’s Point in Mount Obsidian and speak to the NPC there to accept “Beyond Dimensions.” Clearing it unlocks the follow-up mission, “From the Far Side of the Moon.”
Palworld v1.0.4 new missions: Beyond Dimensions and From the Far Side of the Moon
The two new sub-missions are chained, so you cannot skip ahead to the second one. Both are optional content added on top of the v1.0 campaign.
Note: if the second mission never appears, the usual reason is that the first one is still sitting in your log as incomplete rather than cleared.
Fishing changes in v1.0.4: difficulty, bait, and the new world setting
Fishing was the loudest complaint after v1.0, and this patch answers it in two ways. The minigame itself got easier in the late-game regions, and there is now a dedicated world setting that lets you dial back how aggressively fish fight the line.
| Change | Effect |
|---|---|
| Feybreak Island fishing | 5% easier |
| Sunreach Island fishing | 15% easier |
| World Tree fishing | 30% easier |
| High-quality bait | 10% better drops |
| Deluxe bait | 20% better drops |
| Fish Behavior During Fishing Minigames (world setting) | Very Calm, Calm, or Normal |
The new setting sits with the rest of the world options, so you can change it on an existing save rather than starting fresh. Setting it to Very Calm makes the minigame far more forgiving; Normal keeps the behavior you are used to.
Community manager Bucky has also hinted that a “normal fishing” toggle is being looked at for the future, which would let players opt out of the minigame entirely. That one is not in the game yet and has no confirmed timing.
Combat, Pal AI, and quality-of-life fixes in v1.0.4
The rest of the patch is smaller in scope but touches things you run into constantly, especially at a base.
| Area | What changed |
|---|---|
| Pal AI | Summoned Pals and Base Pals now prioritize skills expected to deal higher damage |
| Work suitability | Adjustments to how some Pals handle assigned work |
| Battle | Backstep behavior and weapon damage values tuned |
| Campfires | Player-built campfires no longer set players, summoned Pals, or Base Pals on fire |
| Palpedia | Name search function added to the UI |
| Radiant Gems | Gems dropped by wild Pals in the World Tree area now match the element of the defeated Pal |
The Radiant Gem fix matters most if you were farming the World Tree for a specific element. Before the patch, the drop could come back as the wrong element entirely, which quietly wasted a lot of farming runs.
Palworld Global Popularity Poll 2026: how to vote
Voting for the Palworld Global Popularity Poll 2026 opened on September 1st and is running now. The ballot covers more than 280 Pals, spanning everything from Early Access through the v1.0 release, plus key in-game human characters.
These polls have a track record of changing the game. After the previous global poll, Zoe took first place overall and was made a recruitable ally in a later update, while the top three in the Favorite Pal ranking — Chillet, Jetragon, and Anubis — received commemorative skins.
Pocketpair at Tokyo Game Show 2026: merch, statues, and cosplayers
Pocketpair is building a large booth for TGS 2026. The plan includes life-sized Pal statues, a merchandise lineup with exclusive items such as 3D stickers, and 20 official cosplayers appearing as Palworld characters, including Saya and Selyne.
It is the studio’s biggest in-person showing since the full release, and the merchandise is show-exclusive rather than part of the regular store lineup.
Palworld version 1.1: what has been confirmed
Work on version 1.1 has started, but that is genuinely all that has been confirmed. Palworld’s official account posted a photo of a meeting room display inside Pocketpair’s offices reading “Palworld v1.1 Brainstorming Session,” which signalled that planning was underway for the first major update after full release.
No features were announced alongside that tease, and no release window has been given. Based on how the game was updated during Early Access, it is likely still months out. Fan replies to the post pushed for things like an adjustable Palbox base radius and a way to convert leftover Ancient Technology Points into regular Technology Points, but none of that is confirmed.
For context on the pace of support, v1.0 landed on July 10th, 2026 with 72 new Pals and new regions including Sunreach and the World Tree. Since then, v1.0.1, v1.0.2, v1.0.3, and now v1.0.4 have all shipped.
Palworld Online closed beta: what the mobile version changes
Palworld Online is the mobile spin-off, built by an external partner and published by Pocketpair as a reimagining of the game for phones. Closed beta footage shows a touch-first control scheme with on-screen prompts guiding basic actions like climbing.

The biggest mechanical difference is the element matchup chart, which is noticeably more complex than the one in the main game. Beta footage also shows baby Pal variants and a reworked UI built around smaller screens.

If you only do one thing off the back of v1.0.4, make it the fishing setting. Dropping Fish Behavior to Very Calm takes the sting out of the one mechanic that was actively pushing players away from late-game content, and it costs nothing to try on a save you are already deep into.
