Quick answer: Speak to the caged Liu Yi near the Hanging Cage Cavern bell, take Moji’s Bloodstained Sword from an iron-cage lift in the caves, and return it to him. You get the Phantom Edge Ink Cut.
How to start Hero’s Lament
Liu Yi is locked in a cage in the Mountain of Imprisonment, about 8 m from the Hanging Cage Cavern bell and roughly 38 m above it (see all bell locations). At first, Liu Yi thinks you’re one of the Transcended, but soon realizes you’re not. He follows Master Moji, Huangxing’s sworn brother. Liu Yi describes Moji as kind and truly heroic, while expressing utter contempt for Huangxing. He also points out that the mountain’s supply lift is unusable because its crank is missing.
He then asks you to bring him anything of Master Moji’s you come across, and promises to repay you. Hero’s Lament starts at that point.

Where to find Moji’s relic
Your first objective is “Find Moji’s relic”. The relic is Moji’s Bloodstained Sword. It sits inside an iron-cage lift in the caves, about 69 m from the Cavern Passage bell and about 32 m above it. Measured from the Hanging Cage Cavern bell, it is about 74 m away.
Pick up the sword and “Find Moji’s relic” completes. The item card reads:
“A sword stained with blood. Its blade ends in a plain, unassuming tip, deceptively simple in appearance. A discerning eye would recognize its provenance at a glance.
Forged by Lijan Manor, it was once a famed sword of its time and belonged to Moji of the Kunlun Sect. How it came to rest here, and what became of Moji, remain unknown.”
Bring the sword to Liu Yi
The next objective is “Bring Moji’s bloodstained blade to Liu Yi”. Take the sword back to the cage where Liu Yi is held. He immediately identifies his master’s weapon and notices the Maskwalkers’ blood on it. Liu Yi must remain alive for the tale to succeed; if he dies, it fails.
The final objective is “Pull out Moji’s sword”. In the scene that follows, Liu Yi says the Maskwalkers’ blood has fouled the sword and only their own blood can wash it clean. He tells you to take the blade and kill Huangxing. The tale then ends, and Ink Cut is added to your arsenal.
Hero’s Lament reward: Ink Cut
Ink Cut is a Phantom Edge. Its card reads:
“Moji’s sword, left behind after his passing. It channels Chi to command the blade, cleansing the world of corruption.”
Its lore line reads “A jet-black sword once wielded by Moji.” Every other option is in the full list of weapons and Phantom Edges.
