Quick answer: Master Bi Yuan fights in a statue-filled arena in the Village of Lu. It is a short walk up the stone stairs beside the Statue Grounds Entrance bell and through a gate strung with red threads.
Where Master Bi Yuan is
Master Bi Yuan of the Tianxuan Sect is one of the Phantom Blade Zero bosses in Chapter 1. He waits in the Statue Grounds in the Village of Lu. This is a wide paved arena with rows of carved statues, small red-roofed shrines and wooden houses, and red maple leaves overhead.
The closest checkpoint is one of the game’s bells. On the Village of Lu map it is labelled “Statue Grounds Entrance”. This bell is also where you return after a death, so the run back to the arena stays short.

What happens when you enter the Statue Grounds
The fight starts with no intro cutscene. Once you are inside, an old man in a long green robe walks straight up to you and attacks. At the same moment the boss bar “MASTER BI YUAN OF THE TIANXUAN SECT” appears at the top of the screen.
Standing around near the gate gives him free hits. Be ready to fight as soon as you pass through it.
- Health: 41,800 HP, with no shield bar under it.
- Weapon: a green bronze sword.
- Ranged attack: teal blade waves thrown from a distance.
- He speaks during the fight, with subtitles.

His full moveset, the damage of each attack and how to answer them are covered in the Master Bi Yuan boss fight breakdown.
Master Bi Yuan rewards: Tianxuan Bronze Sword and Remnant Dust
| Reward | Type | Details |
|---|---|---|
| TIANXUAN BRONZE SWORD | One-Handed weapon | Damage 240, Guard Break 106 |
| Remnant Dust | Currency | 15,000 |
The sword’s card reads: “A bronze sword, masterful in its simplicity. It offers high Shield-Breaking power when attacking and rock-solid defense when blocking.” Its art, Natural Order, reduces Sha-Chi consumption when you block attacks. The full card and arts are listed on the Tianxuan Bronze Sword page, and the Remnant Dust page covers the currency.

Right after the rewards, the game asks “Equip the new weapon now?”

What unlocks in the arena afterward
A message confirms the next change in the village: “The threads sealing the well at the village entrance have vanished.”
Inside the same arena stands a crane bell with red ribbons called The Lady Grounds. Ringing it plays a hand-drawn memory and starts the quest YOUNG MISTRESS. Before you leave, check the statue shrine at the edge of the arena. It holds a pickup worth 1,060 Remnant Dust.
