Quick answer: Phantom Blade Zero has 74 boss entries across the prologue and nine regions. The list starts with Zuo Shang in the prologue and ends on Mount Soulrend.

The game’s boss total is 74 because every title it assigns counts as a separate entry. Some bosses have two titles and therefore appear twice; Bai Chilian, Lady of the Twin Serpents and Bai Chilian, the Sacrificial Serpent are one such pair. Yucong, No. 34 Twisted Puppet has three additional listings: Steel Yucong, Frost Yucong and Chaos Yucong. Zuo Shang has three listings as well. The young Zuo Shang sparring match and Zuo Shang, the Order’s Shadow Sovereign are prologue fights; Zuo Shang, the True Lóng is encountered on Mount Soulrend. Aberrant Three-faced Puppet: Optional Challenge Rift boss

In Weeping Creek Valley, Aberrant Three-faced Puppet appears in the Challenge Rift next to The Lady’s Rift bell. The entrance is marked by stone monk statues surrounded by golden mist (E). Interact with them to display: “Powerful Sha-Chi pours from the Rift. Challenging it recklessly may be unwise. Enter?”

At level 15, this puppet has 88,830 HP, well above the other bosses found early in Weeping Creek Valley. The battle takes place in the temple plaza inside the Rift. Steel Mask, Frost Mask and Chaos Mask are its three faces. Defeating the puppet awards the story item Three-Headed Doll. The Aberrant Three-faced Puppet guide covers where the Rift is.

Phantom Blade Zero boss rewards: Weapons and Remnant Dust

The first Weeping Creek Valley bosses drop weapons, and two of them add Remnant Dust. Every weapon and Phantom Edge is in the weapons list.

Peng Meng, the Axemaster fights by the river southwest of the Outpost. His intro cutscene starts when you are about 15 m from him. During the fight the game shows the tip “Press 1 to switch weapons and fully restore Sha-Chi!”

Hua, Deadly Betrothed is located at Flesh Lily Fields. Her introduction begins when you land next to the Flesh Lily Fields bell near the wedding altar.

Jagged Steel, the Frenzied Brute is in the exposed riverbed beneath Rustblade Pavilion. From the Red Thread Barrier gorge, pass the waterfall to reach it. A Gold Mask and an Iron Mask are in the arena and battle Jagged Steel.

Bleed from the Jagged Steel weapon does not affect Puppets. Hua, Deadly Betrothed is a Puppet.
