Soul beside the crane statue that holds the Place of Awakening bell, Phantom Blade Zero

Quick answer: Place of Awakening is the first bell in the Village of Lu, a crane statue holding a bell where you arrive after the Bai Chilian fight. The huts sit about 170 metres away, over a rope bridge and down a plank path.

Where the Place of Awakening bell is

Once the Bai Chilian fight in Crimson Forest is behind you, Phantom Blade Zero drops you into the Village of Lu right beside the bell. You’re standing on a wooden plank walkway at the edge of the region, and the Days Remaining counter in the lower right reads “Days Remaining:61 -1” as you arrive. The 61 reflects the count at that point in Chapter 1’s AGAINST THE FLOW quest, so your number depends on how many days you’ve already used. Crane bells and Days Remaining explains how days are lost.

A tall stone crane serves as the bell, with a small bell dangling from its beak. The statue stands before a dry-stone wall, and a red glow marks the ground at its feet. Approach it to bring up the E prompt. The Village of Lu map screen names the area “VILLAGE OF LU” and shows “Map Completion : 1%”; the “Place of Awakening” bell icon is at the map’s right edge, while the rope bridge and village huts appear to its left.

What the bell gives you

Press E to ring it, and the bell menu opens with Traverse, Upgrade Equipment, Store, Train Abilities, Save, and Leave, with “Place of Awakening” shown in the bottom-left corner. Ringing it adds Place of Awakening as a Traverse destination, and the Save option lets you save your game from here.

Ring it before continuing; this is the bell you’ll return to in this section of the Village of Lu.

How to reach the Village of Lu huts from the bell

The walk is about 170 metres, and no enemies attack along the way on PATHBREAKER, the default difficulty.

Head away from the stone wall along the path. Roughly 25 metres on, a glint on the path’s left side, just before the rope bridge, reveals a book to collect: Bai Chilian’s Notes.
Make your way across the gorge on the long rope bridge. Its wooden-plank span, bordered by rope rails, measures roughly 55 to 60 metres.

Past the bridge, continue along the forest trail. It rises between rock walls and trees, then descends again. Follow the main route to a junction about 50 metres beyond the crossing.

At the junction, descend on the steep plank-covered slope to your right. The rising branch and the rocky route straight ahead both terminate at ledges, leaving the planks as your route down.

Follow the planks to the bottom. They bring you out beside the village’s wooden huts, with a misty valley stretching ahead.

Jewel and the chest in the Village of Lu huts

About 30 metres past the first huts, you meet Jewel at a hut with a work table; she’s an artisan who polishes accessories. A chest next to her hut contains the Jewel’s Knot accessory, described as “Increases HP by 15%.”
