Quick answer: Win the Discordance fight at a Human-Faced Banyan tree for one Heart per tree, across five regions, or buy one for 100,000 Remnant Dust. Spend it in Train Abilities.

The item description reads “A dark crimson, heart-shaped growth covered in vein-like roots. Held in the hand, a faint, steady pulse can be felt within.” Its use line is “Used to unlock special abilities in Ability Training.”

Get The Banyan’s Heart from the Banyan Trees

The trees are part of the tale Heart of the Banyan, which carries the objective “Find the Human-Faced Banyan Trees”. There are five trees, one per region. Each tree gives one Heart. Each tree’s spot on the map is in the guide to all 5 Banyan Trees.

The distances are measured in a straight line from the bell to the tree. The path you actually walk can be longer.

Travel to the bell listed for the region. Then head to the Human-Faced Banyan tree nearby.
Interact with the tree. This starts a Discordance fight.
Win the Discordance fight. The Banyan’s Heart is added to your inventory when the fight ends.

Repeat this at all five trees to collect five Hearts.

Buy The Banyan’s Heart for Remnant Dust

A Heart costs 100,000 Remnant Dust. The Store on the bell menu at Songhouse Dock in Meigu Lake sold one, and it had just the one in stock.

Quick Hand Zhang sells it at the same price at his hideouts in Village of Lu, Pangzhen and Meigu Lake, and each is covered in the Quick Hand Zhang guide.

How to use The Banyan’s Heart

Open the bell menu and choose Train Abilities. For example, Flow Like Water (“Blocking and dodging do not interrupt the current combo”) costs one Heart plus 12,500 Remnant Dust.

If you regret a pick, press P on the Train Abilities screen to reset your abilities. The reset refunds the Remnant Dust and Hearts you spent, so a Heart is never lost to a bad choice. More detail on the screen and respecs is in the Train Abilities and respec guide. The full abilities list shows every ability you can spend a Heart on.
