What War Wagon is good for

War Wagon is built for two jobs. It can charge through enemy lines, and it can cover ground quickly. Free Rein ties those jobs together. The farther the wagon travels, the more damage it deals, up to 50%. That distance resets once you hit an enemy, so longer runs into a group pay off more than short bumps. The guide on how to increase damage covers other ways to raise it.

As you level it, the wagon gains new tools:

  • Full-Speed Rush at weapon level 5 adds a burst of speed during the charge.
  • Ironclad Rampage at weapon level 10 lowers how fast it uses Remnant Spark.
  • Crushing Charge at weapon level 15 raises ramming damage.
  • Earthshaking Slam at weapon level 25 adds a ground slam that sweeps away nearby enemies.

Every charge draws on Remnant Spark, so it helps to know how to restore Remnant Spark before you rely on the wagon in a fight. War Wagon is a Phantom Edge, a secondary weapon, so you still need a main weapon; the full list of weapons and Phantom Edges covers both. If you are still choosing one, look at the best weapons to pick early on.
