Pokémon Legends: Z-A Codes (September 2026)

Pokémon Legends: Z-A hands out free items, Mega Stones, and even bonus side quests through its Mystery Gift system. Some of these rewards need a code typed in by hand, while others unlock automatically once you connect to the internet and meet certain requirements.

Working Pokémon Legends: Z-A codes

Only one active Mystery Gift currently requires typing in a code. Enter it exactly as written, since the redemption screen is case-sensitive.

PREPAR1NG — 5 Max Revives, 10 Full Restores, and 10 Ultra Balls

This item bundle is valid until March 31, 2027, so there’s no rush to claim it right away.

Mystery Gifts that don’t need a code

A handful of rewards arrive automatically through the “Get via Internet” option instead of a typed code. These are tied to game progress rather than a password, and none currently list a firm expiration date except where noted below.

Mewtwonite X and Mewtwonite Y — unlocked for anyone who owns the game, along with Exp. Candy XL and the “Project M” side mission to find Mewtwo.
Diancite — unlocked for anyone who owns the game, paired with Exp. Candy XL and the “Shine Bright like a Gemstone” side mission for Diancie.
Garchompite Z — requires completing at least one hyperspace adventure in the Mega Dimension DLC first, then unlocks the “Special Distortion Detected” side mission for Mega Garchomp Z. Valid until March 31, 2027.
Cherish Ball Audino — given in person at Pokémon Center stores in Japan, Singapore, and Taiwan during your birth month, with a document showing your birthdate and your Nintendo Switch console. Valid until January 31, 2027.

How to redeem Mystery Gift codes

The Mystery Gift menu stays hidden until you make a bit of story progress, and the redemption flow itself only takes a few taps once it’s unlocked.

Play through the main story until you complete Main Mission 3, “A New Life in Lumiose City,” which involves speaking with Mable on the third floor of the Research Lab.

Pause the game and open the main menu, then select “Link Play.” This option only appears after the mission above has been completed.

Choose “Mystery Gift” from the Link Play menu.

Select “Get with Code/Password” if you have a code like PREPAR1NG, or “Get via Internet” for gifts that unlock automatically based on your progress.

If you picked “Get with Code/Password,” type the code into the text box and confirm. The game will display a confirmation message and add the item or Mega Stone directly to your bag once it’s accepted.

Any side mission tied to a gift, such as “Project M” or “Shine Bright like a Gemstone,” appears on the world map once the related Mystery Gift has been claimed. You can confirm what you’ve already redeemed by selecting “Check Mystery Gifts” from the same menu.

An internet connection is required to redeem any Mystery Gift, but a Nintendo Switch Online subscription is not.
