Quick answer: Probably Stolen has six factions with 47 reputation perks between them. Positive thresholds unlock perks, negative thresholds apply penalties, and five of the six end your run at -100.
The six factions in Probably Stolen: Cyberpunk Shopkeeper Sim are Lower Levels, Upper Levels, Security, Black Market, Revolution, and Sector 13 Cartel. Each tracks its own reputation with you. Crossing a positive threshold switches on a perk, and dropping past a negative one switches on a penalty. The table below shows the top reward and the worst outcome for each faction, and the sections after it list every perk in threshold order.
| Faction | Best perk | Threshold | Worst penalty |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lower Levels | Pillar of the Lower Levels | 100 | Mob Justice (-100) |
| Upper Levels | Rave Reviews | 100 | Hired Hitman (-100) |
| Security | VIP | 100 | No Quarter / By Any Means (-100) |
| Black Market | Underground Network | 60 | Uninsurable (-60) |
| Revolution | Raid Loot | 80 | Hit list (-100) |
| Sector 13 Cartel | Authorized Exit | 100 | Forced Retirement (-100) |
Five factions end the game at -100. Mob Justice (Lower Levels) ends the run with Lynched, Hired Hitman (Upper Levels) with Assassinated, By Any Means (Security) with Framed, Hit list (Revolution) with Bombed and Forced Retirement (Sector 13 Cartel) with Retired. Black Market has no -100 perk. At the other end, Authorized Exit at 100 Cartel reputation starts your handler processing your exit from the Cartel. Every ending is explained in the Probably Stolen endings guide.
Lower Levels reputation perks
| Threshold | Perk | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| 100 | Pillar of the Lower Levels | 15% discount from Joe Wild and Dr. Jackson |
| 80 | Tight Lips | Contraband sales to Lower Levels customers add evidence equal to just 0.5 of the value sold. |
| 60 | Word on the Street | Occasional tips about upcoming events |
| 40 | Rare Goods | New customer types offering Rare or Contraband goods visit |
| 20 | Referral | 100% chance of 1 extra random customer per day |
| -20 | Poor Reviews | 100% chance of 1 fewer random customer per day |
| -40 | Mistrusted | Contraband is no longer available from customers in the Lower Levels. |
| -60 | Marked | Thieves target you more often; Insurance costs 2x |
| -80 | Shunned | All suppliers refuse your calls; Dr. Jackson stops visiting except in special circumstances |
| -100 | Mob Justice | A Lower Levels mob attacks your Store and lynches you |
Lower Levels has the most perks of any civilian faction, and its penalties hit your foot traffic and supply chain before they turn lethal. Shunned at -80 cuts off every supplier, which makes restocking much harder well before the mob arrives.

Add to Google Preferences →Upper Levels reputation perks
| Threshold | Perk | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| 100 | Rave Reviews | Customers from the Upper Levels carry 25% extra credits. |
| 80 | Household Name | 20% chance of 1 extra daily Upper Levels customer |
| 60 | Gossipmonger | Advance notice of most Upper Levels events |
| 40 | Upper Level Charity | A benefactor occasionally donates goods |
| 20 | Pourboire | 15% bonus on sales to Upper Levels customers |
| 0 | Discerning Taste | No description text |
| -40 | Tourist Trap | Upper Levels customers are less apt to come by. |
| -60 | Petition to Security | Security reputation lost 2.0x faster; active investigations progress 1.5 faster |
| -100 | Hired Hitman | A hit is placed on you immediately |
Petition to Security is the one to watch here. Falling to -60 with the Upper Levels drags down your Security standing faster too, so one bad relationship can quickly turn into two.
Security reputation perks
| Threshold | Perk | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| 100 | VIP | Thieves stop targeting your Store; no more inspections |
| 80 | Reliable Vendor | The Security Surplus Merchant stocks better wares, while Security customers have 50% extra credits. |
| 60 | Trusted | Fewer inspections, slower investigations, advance warning of Security Operations |
| 40 | Security Protection | Thieves are less inclined to target your Store. |
| 20 | Security Surplus | A Security Surplus Merchant occasionally visits |
| 0 | Requisition Order | A Requisition Officer occasionally buys Food and Medical Supplies; trading raises reputation |
| -20 | Watchlist | Investigations progress x1.2 faster |
| -40 | Must Be The Wind | Security stops responding to your alarms |
| -60 | Most Wanted | Investigations progress x1.5 faster |
| -80 | No Stone Unturned | Security inspectors will no longer be lazy or shady, and inspections happen more often. |
| -100 | No Quarter | Maximum prosecution for contraband found in inspection |
| -100 | By Any Means | Immediate arrest and jail, regardless of evidence |
Security has more perks than any other faction, and two of them sit at -100. VIP at 100 removes inspections entirely, which matters a lot for a shop that deals in anything questionable.
Black Market reputation perks
| Threshold | Perk | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| 60 | Underground Network | Advance notice of most Black Market events |
| 40 | Safe Hands | A Thief is guaranteed to visit every week, and all thieves now offer better wares. |
| 20 | Small Time Broker | Petty Thieves visit more; their wares improve with reputation |
| 0 | Honor Amongst Thieves | Black Market reputation always lost at x1.5 |
| -40 | Blacklisted | No Contraband from Black Market customers; barred from the Underground Exchange; Janitorial Service costs double |
| -60 | Uninsurable | Insurance services no longer available |
Honor Amongst Thieves works at any Reputation level: each Black Market loss is multiplied by 1.5, whether your Reputation is 60 or -60.
Revolution reputation perks
| Threshold | Perk | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| 80 | Raid Loot | Members occasionally sell raid loot; prices improve with reputation |
| 60 | Friend of the Revolution | You hear about most Revolution events beforehand. |
| 40 | Revolution Quartermaster | Occasional visits selling discounted Materials; discount grows with reputation |
| 20 | Revolution Marketplace Request | Occasional Marketplace Requests from Revolution cells |
| -40 | Blacklisted | Revolution-sympathetic customers less likely to visit |
| -100 | Hit list | A hit squad is immediately sent to eliminate you |
Revolution and Black Market both have a -40 perk named Blacklisted, but the effects differ. The Revolution version only thins out sympathetic customers.
Sector 13 Cartel reputation perks
| Threshold | Perk | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| 100 | Authorized Exit | Your handler starts processing your authorized exit |
| 50 | Reliable Chemist | Extra Materials cost 50% of the usual Reputation |
| 25 | Increased Stipend | Your Cartel Reputation determines the size of your weekly stipend. |
| -100 | Forced Retirement | A Cartel Hitman is on the way to kill you. |
The Cartel uses different thresholds from everyone else, at 25 and 50 instead of steps of 20. Reliable Chemist also makes reputation something you spend, since requesting additional Materials costs Cartel Reputation.
How to raise or lose faction reputation in Probably Stolen
Reputation moves through day-to-day shop activity. These are the ways your standing changes:
- Trading: sales earn reputation; stolen goods multiply trade reputation by their heat, from x1.5 to x3.
- Wanted List reports: a correct report gives +5 Security; a false one costs -8 Security, plus 50 credits if you hold at least 100.
- Marketplace Requests: completing store requests rewards faction reputation.
- Scams: scamming informed customers costs reputation.
- Vending machines: selling mislabelled goods costs Lower Levels and Upper Levels reputation.
As an example of a Marketplace Request, Medical Supply For Lower Levels Charity Clinic asks for 3 Medical Supplies (Common) within 3 days and pays 60 credits plus 8 Lower Levels reputation.
Reputation multipliers by difficulty
Your difficulty scales every reputation gain and loss. On Red Ink, losses count double while gains are halved.
| Difficulty | Gains | Losses |
|---|---|---|
| Price Gouge | x1.5 | x0.5 |
| Mark Up | x1 | x1 |
| Thin Margins | x0.75 | x1.25 |
| Red Ink | x0.5 | x2 |
Starting Perks that change reputation
Several picks on the Starting Perks screen set your opening reputation or change how fast it moves.
| Starting Perk | Effect |
|---|---|

| Diplomatic | Trade reputation increased by 33% |
| Model Citizen | +30 Security Reputation; 50% more Wanted List reward |

| Sycophant | Begin with 15 extra Upper Levels Reputation; gains there increase by 25%, and customers from that area have budgets 10% higher. |

Sycophant pairs with the Upper Levels ladder, while Revolution Sympathizer starts you past the 20 threshold for Revolution Marketplace Request. Convict starts Security at -30, which puts Watchlist in effect from day one.
